Alright. I'm here in time. Thanks for showing these films hidden from for so long.
Added: FANTASTIC. How did this never became one of the many classic WWII films? Such a shame Kaaren Vrne passed at 49. Thanks, again, Pizza for a fine presentation.

Just a lovely workmanlike job by Vincent Sherman, all the cast and crew and technicians. A classic example of Warner Bros quality in the 1940s. Everybody at the top of their form. I'll watch it again to savor the Nazi menace through the eyes of the 1941 audience.

Very emotional. That was set in the 1940s, ...One day there may be a "Digital record" of 2023, showing the brave people of the Ukraine, who fought against a giant force, losing thousands of innocent people, who only wanted Peace, while all around them they watched their Country, cities, towns, and villages destroyed.

A special salute to actor Martin Kosleck, an unsung hero of the anti-Nazi film community.
Through his portrayals in "Underground", "Berlin Correspondent", "The Hitler Gang" and countless other films, he gave focus to the unspeakable evil which threatened the world and, in so doing, helped to forge the concensus of Americans to put an end to such evil.
    Well done, Herr Kosleck.

Excellent movie, but had to look away at times; Martin Kosleck, my favorite actor for SS, Gestapo, and all-'round loathesome Nazi, was just too convincing. How ironic that when he fled Germany in 1930s, for speaking harshly against the Nazis, he himself was placed on the Gestapo list of "deplorables"!
But Hollywood films became his own "Illegal Radio", allowing him to show over and over how sadistic, deluded and depraved Germany's elite officers could be; all the while getting paid for it, and living to be in his 80s, too!
Thanks, Pizza Flix, for finding and presenting this excellent old WWII movie of the underground work, and sacrifices of sane, intelligent, and courageously decent Germans in that era!

An excellent comment. Even if some of the German Jews working in Hollywood did know, they chose not to show the full horrors, as they would not have been believed. Even when solid evidence of the Holocaust was given to the editorial board of the New York Times, they still could not believe it and under reported it.

Your's is the only comment here that even remotely suggests a contrary opinion. Yes something is happening in America but it's not National Socialism. It's far worse than that. There's simply not enough space here to list the numerous things Americans have been taught about WW II that are just not true. Underground was a masterful bit of propaganda...well designed and acted, even enjoyable to an extent...but it propounded a viewpoint intended to be the Only Way to view Germany. Clue: this film was made 'out of' Hollywood.

Many of these British films were not shown in the United States at all because the u.s. considered it propaganda and there are some that even go deep into the German propaganda as well as the kidnapping of non German citizens who were of German descent who were visiting their grandparents were visiting the country as young youth and a boy one of those movies was just heartbreaking because I know it happened. My aunt married a German citizen who crossed into United States illegally to escape being forced to go to war. Well unfortunately he was turned in by someone who thought he should go back to Germany and fight for the Germans. He had children and a wife here in the United States who were put into basically government housing and monitored while he was deported to Germany he served jail time in Germany and then was forced into the military for 2 years he survived the war and then had to stay in Germany until he had served up a certain amount of time and was able to come back to the United States to his family. What a horrible situation he had never wanted to fight Hitler's war and he was forced to go back. Many people found their children trapped in Germany visiting grandparents or great-grandparents who had possibly taking them there for a vacation or lived there and they couldn't get them out of Germany. They were forced into the military if they were boys and they were forced into the wound I think it was where they created the babies for the officers if they were girls. There is a movie based on that and that is a very very well-kept secret. There's a lot of crimes that she has got shoved into the table just like the Japanese stuff because I guess everybody was just so tired of the war in the fighting they really did not want to admit how horrible things had been even for the German citizens themselves. When you allow yourself to be governed by a totalitarian military government that is not run by the people for the people with says everyone has to follow all the same exact rules no one has freedom of choice you will rout live this way it's not equity or equality it's everybody's at cookie-cutter copy then you've got a serious problem and unfortunately that's what's happening in the US democracy does not equal Republic we are a republic not a democracy.

Nothing really has changed even when our Lord walked this Earth , man has welcomed bombs and all sorts of gadgets to rid human beings off this Earth.
Cruelty atrocities that no human should be put through.
    And yet we never learn.
What will happen too this world of ours.
God help us and forgive us all.🙏🇬🇧

These war-time propaganda films have terrific scripts because we know the events they depict were happening during the filming in Europe. It also helps when real German actors fleeing the madness end up portraying- and betraying- the mad men they left behind.

The beautiful Kaaren Verne was a German refugee whose next film was my favorite Warners anti-Nazi film, "All Through the Night," with Humphrey Bogart and Peter Lorre (her future husband!).
