What is a Variable Resistor and a Potentiometer? | Difference, Working and Usage Explained
In this video, I will explain what is a variable resistor and a potentiometer, what is the difference between them, how they work and how to use them in different circuits. I will also show you how to measure the resistance values of both types of resistors using a multimeter and how to decode their value.
A variable resistor is a type of resistor that can change its resistance value by adjusting a knob or a slider. A potentiometer is a particular type of variable resistor that has three terminals and can be used as a voltage divider. Both variable resistors and potentiometers are widely used in electronics for controlling the current, voltage, brightness, speed, sound and other parameters of various devices.
