He seems like a sponge for knowledge and it also seems like he is very coachable as in putting it to work straight away with results. Wes Johnson holy shit isn’t he putting together some resumé atm 👏🏻 them bulldogs looking good.
His curveball already has a lot of sweep. He said his slider is 40 inches away from his fastball so he wants it to be only 20-25 inches away from it so that it stays on plane longer and gets more swings
Wow starting right off the bat with a championship call is bold 😮 and how that work out for him 😂 commentators curse? No no. Friedman’s Fortune 🥷🏼 any chance getting Gil on tell him he gonna be World Series champion? Please 😂
I'm not sold on him yet. His fastball is as straight as string and he leaves it over the plate often. He reminds me a bit of Braden Shipley who was drafted out of UNR years back. 100 mph but straight as a fungo and he never really panned out. Will be interesting to see.
He averages 100 pitches per game. That's basically the same as a major leaguer. The difference is Skenes gets 7 days rest, which is more than a pro gets. He threw 124 ONCE. Otherwise he hasn't gone over 105 all year. I'm guessing you read that ignorant hit piece from that trash-rag Washington Post. Maybe educate yourself a bit instead of reading a biased article from a glorified propaganda post and talking out of your ass trying to sound like you know something.

102 with a 92 slider. Dude will be in the show soon. Hope he continues to get better and stays healthy!
He’s unreal
I thought he threw an 84 miles per hour slider
His curveball is an average 117mph
He did
Im so excited to see what he can do in pro ball. I also didnt know he was a catcher before becoming a full time pitcher
Omaha bound because of this guy. LETS GEAUX TIGERS
Don’t forget my dogs Tommy and Tre!
@@jeffrobe405absolutely! Also B2B SEC POTY Dylan Crews
Fascinating stuff. Good Luck to Mr. Skenes with his career. ⚾🖖✌
He’s got DeGromm level stuff with that fastball slider combo! Super excited to see this kid in the show!
as a lsu fan, GEAUX TIGERS
GEAUX TIGERS!! Omaha here we come!!
Need more life on that Geaux Tigahs! Great show!
His arm slot works great for a sweeper..i wouldn’t want to back off the horizontal on that.

Skenes is for sure the GOAT!!!!
Really good interview. Sadly I had to see some clips of him striking out my teammates at wmu😂
Ha!
Dude is my ace in MLB The Show 23 on my DD squad.
I’ve been saying he looks better in the later innings
You really can’t pick this guy if you’re the Pirates. Not an option. (Nats fan.)
:)
Legend
I definitely see the graterol in his pitching
Check out Danny Cox, my St. Loo Card teammate, 1980s, 2-time 18-game winner, gamer. Exactly like Skenes.
Oh my I didn't know he was a catcher. I wouldn't want to be a runner coming home and have to slide into him.
Man this dude outta be good, he should be throwing 105 as big as he is.......
SKENES BECOME A TWIN PLEASEEEEE
Paul Skenes might end up being what DeGrom should have been. I doubt Skenes has the same injury issues as DeGrom. Much stronger.

Dude is awesome.....but I still want the Pirates to take Dylan Crews

well… you’re literally the only one
@@josh903x I have no problem with that. Been right before, been wrong before. Time will be the ultimate truth.
ask him why he had to throw 120 pitches
in college, they have a mentality of "theyre young, they can handle it". they arent worried about future career, they are trying to win now.
We talked about it...if you watch

He threw 80 pitches the previous start and had an extra day of rest. Total is was still under his limit for consecutive starts.
Cuz he’s not a bitch
