I typically don't comment on videos but the timing of this is crazy. I'm researching shower pumps while also watching the youtube channel Sailing Doodles and your consignment shop is in the episode I just so happen to be watching!

Great videos. I've experienced the same problems with my boat. These pumps just go bad when the residual water in the sump just seeps in the motor and causes internal rusting. Hey, Let's get that boat ready for a cruise to Bimini one day.

One thing you may want to look at is moving the float switch 180 degrees. there is a weep hole that will fill with water and cause the float to fail. Especially when the boat is moving. (I have had 2 fail until I found that out. )

make sure the float is facing aft and the pivot point faces forward, Otherwise failure is possible.

I'm new to this stuff..my boat has three wires. 2 black one brown and white. Do both black go to the pump black or is one of them going to be a positive lead as well for float switch?

Hey Jay where did you purchase that bilge box?

I noticed when the pump comes on, there is some spray that comes out over the pump motor and hits the lid. Is this by design to keep the pump cool? Mine has been doing the same but is a couple of years old. Never really noticed that until now. Was going to put a clamp on the pump barbed section.

I just recently bought a 2006 Larson Cabrio 240. First time hooked to shore power, AC came on perfectly,, Good water discharge from side, cooled down really quick. Later that night when we went to settle down. She came on, but no water discharge out the side and she wouldn't get cold,,, Any advice. Thanks.... Anyone....

I really appreciate your videos. I have an old trawler that needs a lot of maintenance. Can you tell me the name of that box thing. My shower just drains into my bilge to be pumped out by my sump pump. Having a separate box looks like definitely the way to go. Thanks again for you videos.
