Kudos to 7Hz for resisting the urge to release a sequel when it wasn't ready. I remember hearing about the Timeless II a year ago and wondering if I should wait for it. Wishing them all the best with sales!
Thanks for this Andy, been waiting for this for a while. Will you be reviewing the BTR17 and the Tangzu, Zhu Bhaje any time soon? Many thanks for all you do - most trusted reviewer on IEM's/ Dongles on the net. Legend!
Sold my monarch mkiii n got timeless ii and aful 5p2. Both are very different. Coloured and both have very airyness treble and sense of space plus good bass. Never miss the mkiii at all. Love the timeless ii...and aful 5p2.
MkII is arguably better than MkIII, midrange is just really well-done and natural-sounding on II, which also improves vocals. Bass is more controlled, too.
Owning the S12 (original), the Hidizs MP145 (Jan 2023 tuning), and the ARTTI T10 (original), I would rank the MP145 my favorite, followed closely by the T10. The S12 remains a very competent IEM, with a Peace tuning on certain tracks. For the money, the T10 is exceptional. As for fitment, they all are fine for my ears. The MP145 is notably beefy...but fine for me too. PS: I have stopped buying new IEM's after the Hydra...between the Hydra, MP145, T10...and another 15+ IEM's purchased over the last 5 years (incl. T3+, Rhapsody, HZ Heartmirror, etc.)...I am quite happy with my latest choices.
Sorry for the question in the comment, but I would really like to know if, based on the Tanchjim origin, you maintain the opinion in the video about the best IEMs for Metal. I really trust your feeling, I bought the Sivga Nightingale and it was amazing!
Tanchjim Origin is so versatile for any type of music really. But it is not as immersive or rich, smooth sounding vs SIVGA Nightingale which to me is perfect for Metal music as well as Technical Jazz/Classical. And now you have it too, you understand what I am saying here. Cheers! 🙏
@@AndyAudioVault You should try to audition the Tigerism Helianthus, my favourite planar magnetic earphones of all! Incidentally, will you be in Hong Kong for CanJam?
I only have Moondrop Chu II IEM and got it just recently, and am new to this hobby. And for me it's already a great experience so far. Can you maybe describe how much difference in quality I'd get if I buy one of these Timeless 2 and other higher end IEMs?
How much difference? Timeless 2 is superior in every way compared to. It offers more resolution, more transient speed, denser body of sound, stronger dynamics and wider more airy/open soundstage
I decided to break the bank and get EBC80 in the end, even though I put a pre-order on Timeless II before. Seller was kind enough to cancel my pre-order, which they usually don't. Just wanted to capitalize on that BC. Thieaudio Origin is 150-200 more bucks, so I settled on EBC80. And I'm not really a fan of their tuning, Monarch MkII was the only Thieaudio that I liked. But to answer your question- yes, completely another level of tech. Difference is noticeable even without A/B'ing them. $200 realm is the absolute bare minimum if you wish actual high-level sound with "wow" effect. Aful 5+2 is another fresh champ in that realm.
Andy that was a good review and the video quality is great. As for the timeless 2, is it possible 7Hz are sending higher quality samples to reviewers? A couple of reasons for this, 1) Mine do not appear to be metal like the original, not sure, but I think they are plastic, and 2) they are very hard to drive, probably the hardest to drive IEM’s I have, and need the highest gain on a DAP that never needs high for IEM’s normally. So quite different from how you have described it here, and just wondered whether or not the build has been changed for general release to the public. I also settled on those gold pointy nozzles for use with metal music. Any tips of things to try would be welcomed. Good video!
Thanks. My Timeless 2 is no different from others as I got it from Linsoul well after the release and it was from the shop inventory. All magnetic planars will require High Gain and high level of volume to sound the best. But even that Timeless 2 is still relatively easy to drive. Just make sure you are running on the 4.4mm side of your DAC/Amp and you should be good. Cheers
@ yes it’s running out the 4.4, and the original timeless is very easy to run by comparison. Hmm, maybe this is a faulty set then, not sure, unit variation or something. Thanks for clarifying that yours came from general stock, I might need to look into this. All the best!
Between all of those you see in this video, Timeless 2 has the most Bass quantity with the Gold Dome nozzle. However, Letshuoer Z12 and TINHiFi P1 Max 2, are the planars for Bassheads. All the planars you see in this video might not be bassy enough for Bass lovers

glad that 7Hz waited and readjusted the tuning of the pair. Good review Andy
You are welcome! 🙏
Thank you for the review!

This one or the tangzu heyday?! 🤔
I got a surprisingly good deal on Nicehck F1 Pro ($33) so I snatch it instead of Arttii T10, now I'm eyeballing T10 Pro. Good weekend everyone!
Waiting for comparison with TANGZU Zetian Wu Legend
I thought you had the legend, Tangzu Zeitan legend...
