    It’s so absolutely rare to find a TH-camr that doesn’t just hate the tau and complain the entire time they do videos about/with them

      Even rarer for a youtuber that plays Tau! Out of all Xeno factions there my favorite! P.S I like them because Pulserifle go Brrrrrrrr or Railgun go BRRRRRRRR

    One of the biggest things to handle is Loyalty, especially for the Tau where each city that is a duplicate gives a penalty to Loyalty.
    In the case I want to create units faster and make more barracks I am penalized for that.
    When I am running out of energy and need it, I build one and I am penalized.
    I try doing this each time - Loyalty Building > Energy (Most of the time) > Needed Resource.
    I have also tried doing multiple cities dedicated to a few set of resource gathering, but then there is also a city penalty,
    what are some good ways to get around that?

      Unfortunately, loyalty, as you say, is very much an issue for the tau, decentralizing your empire is probably the best way to do it. Lots of cities with the bonuses from each building, but still each of your cities will suffer from the loyalty issues from having so many cities so its inevitable. So, in short, there is no way to get rid of loyalty issues for good, but the tau do have some tools to mediate it.

      The Cadre Fireblade, the hero you unlock immediately with the hero building, has an ability at level 6 that gives +6 loyalty to all of your cities, and you can have multiple of them. I have found this to be the most universally effective way to bump up Tau loyalty as you can just have them chill as cargo within your cities. Also, they have no chance of being taken from you this way, like the loyalty-boosting artifacts (Siren Casters) can, and they can start at level 6 once you get later into the match. It's not a great early-game answer for the loyalty issue. Still, you can absolutely support 3 or 4 of them by the time you're really trying to spread multiple cities across the map, and it's pretty easy to have enough of them to the point that their loyalty boosting your production can pay for their upkeep costs.

    Just got this game with some friends and did a all nighter as the tau. You cleared up a lot of misconception and showed what i was doing wrong 😅

      The video explains everything pretty well, but I would say that the best way to play as the T'au is to go wide. Utopia negates the loyalty penalty for building more cities. First, when starting hit ctrl+ this will show the tiles' modifiers try to pick the best place you can have nearby and don't hesitate to skip one turn if you can get a better one. In research, you want to get the stasis building for the cadre fireblade and you really want to upgrade him to level 6 ASAP since his ultimate gives +6 loyalty to all cities you have, then you can either get the vehicle building or the photon grenades. Tier 2 Ethereal has amazing support abilities but he is really squishy, you should get him and gun drones or Pathfinders. Then you want to get builder drones as your first T3 research and start to make them the moment the research is done. Afterward, put them in a spot with good modifiers. For units what I like to do is to have a city specialized in one type of unit so that I don't get loyalty issues for making multiple barracks/crisis/arsenal/nacelle. Finally, you WANT to rush T10 for one specific tech called "In Diversity, Unity". This tech doubles the bonus of Utopia but not the penalty so you can have 3 of the same building and have 0 loyalty instead of 2.

      @colonelstrat  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE1 I'm inclined to agree, the taus utopia bonus gives a nice bonus for more cities, it's best to specialize a city on a type of unit so to have one for infantry, vehicles and so on and so forth. The ethereal is a must have hero but can be kind squishy like you pointed out. I always rock the battles suits such as crisis teams as they can specialize against alot of foes. Broadside are your best friends defensively but I do agree with your suggestion as well with tier 10 as the buff to utopia really helps negate any loyalty loss. Playing tall for the tau just doesn't work but you gotta be careful starting out because without upgrades your fire warriors are sitting ducks for much of the hostile wildlife

      @EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE1 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @colonelstrat Yeah, the crises are nice, but you have issues fighting things like Onagers. That's why I rock XV25 for them since 2 of them with a hammerhead can kill them easily.

    Do you have a mod for them to talk?
    Also how many cities do you build and I wish you would have talked about utopia in the T'au because I'm confused if I should worry about it or if its not a big deal.

    • @colonelstrat
      @colonelstrat  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes I do, it's called "too many voices"

    • @colonelstrat
      @colonelstrat  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Utopia is something to stay on top of, basically the tau lose loyalty for each extra building built so this makes expanding incredibly hard as the tau, spam loyalty buildings and use your influence to increase it and you'll be fine my friend just gotta keep on top of that

  • @N4MELEZ
    @N4MELEZ 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I really like this game but have difficulty managing and undertstanding the city building and economics...😅 Tau is also one of my favorite factions but I kinda bad at them because there city building is even weirder 😅

    • @colonelstrat
      @colonelstrat  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It takes time to understand, it's similar to civ but it's own take on the 4x genre. The Tau building system is rather simple when you look at it, just build one of each building to get the adjacency bonus. But it's harder in game because founding new cities causes loyalty issues that hamper your progress. Have patience friend and you'll figure it out! All it takes is time!

      Just to save me time on recording so I don't spend weeks recording, really don't have tons of time to record all the time when each game takes ages to recruit anything
