Licensed optician here. This is a similar process to what we can do. However if you have an astigmatism (while lenses are in the old frame) draw a straight line across the lenses so when you put them in the new frame you know they are straight
IMO, this should be taken to a qualified optician/lab, Operative word, "qualified". What this person is neglecting is that the frames probably have a different PD and OC, and as you mentioned axis makes it even more complicated. If someone has a low RX, this might work, but it would never work for me. I have enough trouble getting the optician to understand base curve as many labs are using the wrong BC which really messes with my RX. My lenses have a very specific bevel that fits into the groove of the frame. Too snug, it twists the frame, too lose, the axis would rotate. Also, just wash glasses with dish soap and let it air dry. All this "scrubbing" with microfiber scratches the lenses...which is what optical stores want because then you have to buy glasses more frequently.
You're a life saver! I bought prescription glasses last year but with a frame that I've grown to hate. Meanwhile I have shades with a very cute frame. Definitely going to switch the lenses tomorrow!! Thank you.
@@kidsmorekids8 Oh it went perfectly well. You just have to be slow and careful, perhaps even do it on top of a soft cloth so that you don't end up scratching the lenses with the hard surface you place them on. Again, pay close attention to not scratch the lenses, and if you're finding yourself applying too much pressure in fitting them into the frame then they are perhaps too big, so size them down a little again. Good luck!
this is exactly what i need, i broke one arm on my everyday glasses. luckily the lens fits on my other frame but very tightly. i dont have a nail pile, can i use a sand paper instead? 🤣
By not opening the screws you risked chipping the lenses. While a file would work to match the lens shape of the good frame, care is needed to maintain the bevel of the lenses so they can be inserted securely. And finally if you try inserting the lenses, they still may be too large, you risk breaking the frame.
Why didn't you have a jewellery screwdriver to open the frame and remove the lenses properly from both frames and put the new glasses and lenses together properly?
Ok that was dope. But when I broke my eyeglasses frame I went to the optical shop from which I bought it and they cut to fit the old lenses to my new eyeglasses frame for free. If not they only require a small amount for the technician's compensation not to the optical shop 🤓
the optical shop in my place can't relate, my frame broke last week and they compensated me P1000/ $19 which I think is not a reasonable price for a single frame.

What grit are you using on the nail file?

Where can I buy that rubberized frame eyeglass?
thats probably a TR90 frame
unbreakable plastic

If you unscrew them they come out easier.

Hi, where did you buy your frame po?
genius!!
What if my lens are small and I'm putting in big frame?
Go to mental hospital
@@NEETard.😂😂
@@NEETard.LMAO?
I know, right? Just a simple little common sense that a lot of people can't even use their head for.
Simple. Find a frame that suits your little Small head,
If I don't have any sandpaper can I scratch lenses on table??
🤣
what if mas malaki ng bahagya yung lense ng new frame kesa sa old. pwede ba yun?
syempre negats na un. dapat mas malaki lagi ang lens na meron ka
Hi, which sand paper grit you are using? Thanks
Yan po yung nail file pag sa pagmamanicure
Yes! 🤗
200 😊
thankssssss
Mgwa nga
Medyo secured masyado yung metal frames nung akin... ibabad ko kaya sa hot water.
What if my lenses are far too small 😂
Won't work. You can't make the lenses bigger.
hii, uhm may i ask? how po kapag wala na yung lens nung bagong paglalagyan ng lens na may grade po?
hello
okay lang ba na gamiting ibang eye glass frame gamitin sa graded lens?
just sand it until it fits, the lens is just a reference
Hahahaha pagtanggal palang mali na
