Liv has been terrific this season just like last season. I still think they deserve way more screen time than they’ve been getting so hopefully season 3 we get some Van backstory. I always wanna see more Liv.
I agree, but I am also confident they are saving a lot of Van stuff for next season. With Lottie in a power position in the wilderness, both her and her future self get a bit of story focus. But next season, as Van becomes Lottie's right hand and descends into savage madness - that lends itself to Van-centric episodes and parallel stories with adult Van. I'm very much looking forward to it.
I loved Santa Clarita Diet and totally didn't connect that they were the same person all this time. And watching this I immediately got a shock at their accent.
right??? they're absolutely incredible in everything they do!!! i need to definitely rewatch now that i'm a much bigger fan of liv. also - i always love seeing your comments! i was involved in putting on the addams family musical right as the pandemic hit so seeing your profile picture always brings a smile to my face on these interview videos haha
I love Liv and their decision to keep them on the show and not kill them off was smart on their part. Because they are a huge part of the show now and a big reason I watch.
@@SCharlesDennicon I’m talking about their character Van. The show first had it written for her to die after the wolf attack and decided not to. And if you are confused by how I’m saying it, Liv goes by they/them pronouns.
@@crystalparker4484 Thanks for the answer... but damn. Really, her "they/them"? She's one those? Jesus the show business is as contaminated as I was told. I guess you don't mind. Cheers.
@@SCharlesDennicon one of those? You mean a person? No I do not mind. You know why? They have nothing to do with my life and it doesn’t take much from me to show them respect, by using the right pronouns. I honestly do not understand all the ugly hate from people who make a huge deal about what others do in their own lives. I urge you to have a conversation with someone trans or non binary. Listen to their life and what they have gone through. Hopefully it could bring you some better perspective ♥️
liv is _astonishing_ as van. when i found out they'd secured themselves a place in the yellowjackets cast against the plans the creators had mapped out, i wasn't in the least surprised. stellar performance in both seasons, and especially towards the end of this one. i hadn't expected to experience such dark depths of one van palmer, the jokey girl who played with a condom during a lesson on pregnancy, but here we are, aren't we? thank you, perri, again. both for the quality of your questions and this important step in the inclusivity of this show! _collider forces_ has quite the ring to it. also, on a random note. liv had referenced the specific word of _storytelling_ in this interview a few times, which happens to be the title of the nearing finale. i am getting _severely_ suspicious indeed of the subliminal messaging they might or might not have put into their vocabulary... god dang it, yellowjackets!
Liv is by far my favorite actor right now! The range of emotions they can portray perfectly is so amazing to me. I don't think I’ve ever been so in awe of an actor before! Can't wait to see what they do in the future 💗
This is quickly becoming my favorite interview channel. Thank you to the creators and host of this show for keeping it real and being just as nerdy and ecstatic about this show as the fans are. I’ve been dying for more Van and Taissa backstory and even hearing theories about it has been incredible. Liv is absolutely incredible and becoming a pioneer in their field. Thank you for being willing to adapt your show and encourage diversity.
I've been thrilled to see so many Perri interviews come up in my feed, particularly for Yellowjackets. I suspect people at Yellowjackets have really noticed and appreciated Perri's awesome interviews and questions. For those that haven't seen them, there are also a couple of Perri interviews with Juliette Lewis on the SAG channel. Lewis just seems to adore Perri's questions in one interview, so it was no surprise Lewis later agreed to a 90 minute retrospective with Perri. My point is, it's probably just me seeing more content via Yellowjackets, but it feels like Perri is getting the praise and opportunities she's deserved for years.
Thank you, Perry for Liv's interview. You always bring such a superb way of doing this interactions with anyone you're interviewing like a friendly chat instead of a business meeting and that tells so much about your skills.
There’s a scene in the trailer where Van is telling a story about the wilderness in front of the fire - amped up that this scene will be in the finale 😄 Van has been so interesting to watch this season!
This was one of the best interview about show I ever saw. Loved the questions, answeres, openness and friendliness. Van is my number 1 yellowjacket, so glad we could learn more about her character.
This is awesome, cool to see the interviewees will be expanded. Really dope that Perri and Collider could heed the call and make a new show to be more inclusive. I've avoided Yellowjackets interviews because I haven't watched the show yet, but after listening to this whole thing, I borrowed season 1 from my library today.
YESSSSS. loved colliders ladies night, but im glad youve got a show you feel like is your own perri! love the in person in studio interviews cant wait for more
Excellent show! And very important that these voices are heard for any real change to occur. Also, I probably wouldn’t tell anyone if I was bit by a zombie 😝 Thank you, Perri and Collider for making this Forces series happen! 🙌🏾 50:19
The question I wanna know is whether or not Tai has actually stopped sleepwalking or if Van is lying. As Liv says in this interview, Van doesn't necessarily trust Tai. It could be because of Van's home life, but I'm also wondering if it's because Van is the most aware of what the situation has deteriorated to and knows keeping information is power. If no one else knows Tai is still sleepwalking, Van and Darth Tai can do some devious shit at night with no one else aware they left the attic.
I'm so excited for this interview: my favorite interviewer with the person who played the most intriguing character this season! I know this is gonna be good.
Really thought-provoking questions! Liv really crafted a relatable and capable character in Van, so I'm really glad that the writers saw that performance and wrote them into a more central role. Van is someone I can sympathize with because of her reliance on humor to cover up her own discomfort and fear, and because her adult self is seemingly stuck in the past, unable or unwilling to let go of that 90s era in which she felt happy, safe, and hopeful. Movie and TV references are her language, the style of clothes she still wears into her 40s, the reluctance to let go, and ultimately, the despair she feels at her life being unfulfilled. Out in the woods she really discovers her will and purpose, and even though she doesn't fully understand what is driving them to behave the way they are, she embraces the unknown because it's preserved her life time and again. Liv is such a compassionate, introspective actor and they really have a deep understanding of the show's direction and the motivations of Van. I love that the seasoned actors have really taken their leads from the 20-something cast to make these people consistent over time and utterly believable. It's what makes the audience feel empathy for these girls/women despite the horrific and appalling things they do to others and one another. It's not condoning the actions, but giving them context and providing motive for why they are the way they are. Hopefully the SAG-AFTRA strikes win out in their strike negotiations sooner rather than later, because I NEED to see season 3! I love stories about complicated women, women who are ugly and frightening and deeply flawed.
Ugh, I love their outlook on life and their career. Taking it as it comes, having such gratitude The openness and the sense of acceptance with things out of one's control. Incredible to see in someone so young, definitely still working on this myself (in a scientific research career, so very different, but the ups and downs can be equally intense). The bit about coming out as non-binary also hits really hard. Not bothering to even think about being gendered correctly because it seems impossible. Ugh. I'm putting those feelings in a box to process another day.
Congrats on the new show! I mentioned it before, but Perri's my favorite interviewer right now and I'm excited to see her taking the show in a direction that feels more like her own. And Liv.. I'm a bit overwhelmed thinking about how their bravery and skill is just making the world a bit better for queer folks. It's really inspiring to see and it really does spark queer joy XD (as did the Homo Agenda did, thank you very much!). Also, the Yellowjackts symbol itself could be a very dice-tower-y shape with a bit of designing. And as a final note, Van is just so important to me. Never has a character hit so close to home. It's honestly a bit scary. Adult Van at least, young Van is just a level of cool that I never was even in the vecinity of. But the stunted, perpetual teenager, movie nerd Van? Hmm so anyways... Great job all around and I can't wait for the next Yellowjackets interterview!

Lol if you guys did make one that was a symbol tree, now we know it can have a little moss-covered cave at its foot, maybe that’s where you load the dice in. Good thing we saw ep 8 before you started construction!
I like the theory (?) that Van and Tai were just hooking up before the plane crash, but it does bring the question of, when do you think that things got serious for them? Like, when did they go from hook ups to girlfriends, y'know

Please don’t get rid of gendered categories. I support non-binary rights. But this is going to hurt women and give half as many acting awards to appease a very small percentage of the actors.
I also support all rights but I feel like my rights as a female are slowly being chipped away. It took forever to get here and now things like a male born female was made woman of the year.
