This show is still under rated IMO (I think it would be even bigger if it had been on HBO) big props to showtime though. They do offer the 1st episode of season one for free on YT and it seems like they started to market the show much better going into season 2.. I don’t think they did any marketing or anything for season 1 and the popularity was a slow build. These women deserve their Emmy’s this year for real!
I have a feeling it might have a White Lotus S2 trajectory - S1 people watched, but s2 was water cooler television. I rock with Showtime shows over HBO shows if i was forced to pick, but I agree this being slotted in to replace The Last of Us would have guaranteed the above happening.
I noticed with Jackie , when. she said “ Randy” in episode 1 - she told shauna he was Asking about her as they were getting dressed for the party . She says his name at other points of the show as well but that one particular time , the English accent slipped in there
I live for Juliette Lewis and Melanie Lynesky and Christina Ricci is killing it. Great to see Lauren Ambrose from Six Feet Under cast too. Such a powerful female cast. One of the best all female casts for the most part.
Amazing show. Amazing writing. Amazing acting. Amazing sound design. Amazing hair and makeup. I’ve never seen a show with such incredible casting, the teen versions of the actresses are spot on!
Lauren was such an excellent choice for Adult Van. A couple years before Yellowjackets I’d thought to myself that Liv’s Abby on Santa Clarita Diet belonged to the lineage of (among others) Lauren’s Claire Fisher
just a wonderfully written show, very complex female characters and great plots. The interviews were interesting, love the journalist and her questions. And all of the actresses are so gifted, 1st episode of season 2 was great, can't wait for the rest.
This show is so cleverly and tightly written, beautifully acted and still has my crime drama obsessed mind reeling with who, what, when and how! I’m a Class of 94 grad and love seeing all the pop culture references, 90s fashion and the amazing music of hat time. It brings back so many memories!

Honestly there is so much brilliant new shows out right now that it's weird to me that you'd focus on one show you dislike. Open your eyes and look at all the incredible new art coming out RN instead
I really enjoyed the raw emotion and candidness from each actress.. the interviewer did well and asked pretty relevant and thought out questions.. Cannot wait to see what S2 unfolds!

4:37-6:14 That's so sad. I can't imagine how toxic of an environment the film industry/film sets must've been during their time as young women. Something I'd always noticed was how so many of the talented women from that time period (and some even before then) seemed to carry themselves with such fierce assertiveness. Now I know why. It's a good thing they advocated for themselves after a bit but the abusive circumstances in which that advocacy likely developed is so sad to think about. I don't think abuse or toxicity has exactly stopped on sets (or the industry as a whole tbh) but there does seem to be a shift in respecting people's boundaries (particularly young actresses) recently, let's hope that continues.

I think they took inspiration from each character but still different: Shauna = Piper (messy & privileged); Jackie = Alex (smart but dumb decisions); Nat = Nicky (good heart but self-sabotages); Lottie = Tiffany (religious/ cult leader); Taissa = Red (mother hen); Misty = Lorna Morello (crazy girl)

The only thing that bugs me about the show is the fake snow and I love that the actresses would have preferred real snow too. i think it would have really added to season 2.

There's 19 survivors on that plane. Less Crystal, Laura Lee, Jackie, and Javie. So there should still be 15 of them. But season two only shows 12. Where did the other three go?
There’s a sort of “Fate Chorus” of three girls who hang in the back, not speaking. If you are done with season two, watch the last scene. You can see three girls standing by themselves behind the main group. I am guessing 15-16 survivors left. Remember Rachel died in the plane. Plus Misty’s bestie, be she real or not.

The adult parts of this show are way better than the teen parts. I get that seeing the teen flashbacks in the wilderness is what gives us context for the adult parts but I really only watch the show for the adult parts. I'm guessing this is the case for everyone as it is the adult cast getting all the interveiws, not the "teen" cast.
