This is essentially the exact plot of that Sesame Street episode where all the adults meet Snuffy and apologize to Big Bird for not believing he was real 😂
I really like how while Nine and Ten took effort to blend in with humans Eleven could not care less who knows that he's an alien with a time traveling box.
Plus, he kinda knows that this is his last regeneration, so he's probably rewarding himself by relaxing a little. Besides, who's gonna believe a guy who "teleports"(from their perspective) in a phone booth?
By the time that Ten became Eleven, the whole world already learned about Aliens and such. So some guy with a magic teleporting box is no longer something that needs to be kept super-secret at all times. Remember, this is post-Dalek invasion. Everyone knows about THEM ALIENS now! 🤣
It also shows how important long-term planning is. The Tenth Doctor's TARDIS was worn and weathered, the wooden exterior etched and lined with time... it LOOKED like a Police Box from the 60's. When it recovered from the Doctor's regeneration, to regenerated too, brand new clean crisp exterior, new whimsical and haphazard but brand new and shiny interior... all to make this one scene work: Something Old, something New, Something Borrowed (Or stolen, borrowing implies the intent to give something back, and the TARDIS had no intention of returning the Doctor), Something Blue
I don't understand how people can like the character Amelia Pond when she literally went to kiss the Doctor in front of Rory...ON THEIR WEDDING DAY! Thank goodness the Doctor stopped her. Amy literally doesn't deserve Rory.
Where's the new from? Because she was gifted something blank? I always thought it was referring to the Doctor and the TARDIS since the Doctors new face is the something new.
The rhyme is being used ironically. The journal is old (a memory from a distant time that hasn't happened yet), new (because it was at that moment recreated from literally nothing by her memories), borrowed (from her daughter, spoilers), and blue (obvious).
