And you can even use Shopify to compare shipping carriers, get shipping discounts, purchase shipping labels, and fulfill orders from different warehouse locations (if applicable.)

Hello, great video! Just two questions: (1) When you sign up with shopify, does that mean that you do not need a website anymore? Is that how this works? And if so, do you just add a domain to your store and that's all?
(2) By using shopify, will it always show the "shopify" logo (or simply say "shopify") all the way at the bottom? If so, can that be avoided by subscribing to a more expensive plan? Thank you in advance!

1. Yes, you use Shopify's software to build a new website. It is possible to use a custom URL, if you have an existing website and want to maintain your audience.
2. You can remove "Powered by Shopify" from your store through the Shopify admin. From Shopify Help Center: From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and choose the theme you want to edit and click Actions > Edit languages. ... In the Powered by Shopify HTML box, use the space bar on your keyboard to type a single space. help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/themes/remove-powered-by-shopify-message

Hi Harry! Yep, you don't have to be a drop shipper to use Shopify. You can sell in-person and online, and you can use Shopify to compare shipping carriers, get shipping discounts, and purchase shipping labels!

Hello! Great question. You only need to create one Shopify store and, using Shopify Markets, designate different location-based markets.
For example, if you’re selling books in the US, UK, and Japan, you can create one Shopify store, then set Japan, the UK, and the US as different markets. Shopify will translate languages, convert currency, and estimate duty/import taxes for each market. Shopify Markets will automatically generate a subfolder for each market, so you will have one version of your store for customers in the US, one for those in the UK, and one for customers in Japan. Hi Karim! Thank you for stopping by! Shopify isn't itself a shop, but it is a platform where people can sign up and add inventory to their dashboard. You can set up a site or start sharing a link / sell on social media from there as well. Many online shops are using Shopify, but you won't see that from the consumer side of things.

Shopify has recently released (February 2022) a new feature set, Shopify Markets, that helps international business owners convert their storefront pricing to local currencies, offer local payment methods, create localized URLs for SEO purposes, create shipping zones and rules, modify pricing depending on location, create different global market segments, and handle duty and import taxes. Shopify Markets is available for Shopify merchants on the Shopify Basic, Shopify, and Shopify Plus plans.
To sell internationally, you must set up shipping zones in your Shopify admin dashboard. If your business is located in the US, Canada, or Australia, you may use Shopify Shipping to ship internationally. There are also international shipping apps, such as Easyship and Ship station, available on the Shopify app store to meet your international shipping needs.
Merchants on the Shopify Basic, Shopify, and Shopify Plus plans can enable multiple languages from their admin dashboard. Doing so allows you to generate separate URLs for up to 20 languages. If your language is not supported by Shopify, you may add your language by importing a CSV file of your translated site content, or you may use a third-party translation app from the Shopify app store.

hmm still confused. If shopify is all these things, would their main competitors be web builders like Weebly, Wordpress, etc? And that bit about digital downloads is also confusing. If I already have an existing website and can have people download the products from there, what's so special about shopify's 'feature' in this area?

If you already have an established site that allows your customers to download your product, then that aspect likely doesn't stand out for you in particular, but it does come with these tools and even more if you sell physical products. Shopify is a software as a service (SaaS) eCommerce platform that allows you to build your own online store. Or, you can use Shopify's software to add online shopping and checkout functions to an existing website or social media account.
You get customers by listing your products on your online store, advertising your digital or physical products or services online, and then using Shopify's checkout functions to let visitors purchase items from your website.
Shopify does not directly advertise for you, but you can connect your Shopify inventory with your business's social media accounts. Then, people can shop through your social media posts.
The Shopify App Store has apps specifically made to connect your social media to your store. You can access advertising apps for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms beginning with the Shopify Lite plan ($9/month.) You do not need a fully-built Shopify online store to advertise on social media.

If you are working with a dropshipping partner, the partner will send products directly to your customers once they place orders. But, if you're working with a fulfillment service, like Shopify Fulfillment Network, you will need to send products to your fulfillment warehouse so they can fill customers' orders once they start to order products from your Shopify store.

I will try to make it simpler so if you are familiar with Amazon you will visit their site then look for things right? but those products are from different sellers but you are searching in Amazon so to relate it to Shopify
You are the owner of the Amazon website and whatever they search on that website is all your products and not from other sellers.
Shopify helps you build your online store/website without needing you to study about web development so you don't need to study programming and coding to build your online store however the advertising part and marketing is all depends on you, shopify just helps you establish your online store without them being the forefront unlike Amazon where they sell their products under their name.

Our understanding is that Disney is VERY aggressive in protecting its brand and characters, even from seemingly minuscule threats. Here is a helpful article we found on Disney copyrights: info.legalzoom.com/article/legal-use-of-the-disney-characters
Key takeaways: "There are two areas where characters could potentially be used without a license. First, expired copyrights can generally be used after expiration. For instance, the copyright on Mickey Mouse expires in 2024. Secondly, you can use protected material as inspiration for your own clearly different creation (called transformative use-it must be clearly different and cannot appear to be a copy or representation)."

Hi, Ty! Yes, Shopify makes it simple to sell digital products. They have a Digital Downloads Shopify app that you add to your store which allows your customers to download what they purchase: apps.shopify.com/digital-downloads
Shopify also allows you to add a PayPal button to the checkout flow on your Shopify website.

Or you can look into dropshipping where you will need to partner with a supplier (AliExpress, Alibaba, and SaleHoo). From there you'll be able to choose what items you want to make available in your store from their inventory and they'll ship the products to your customers for you! We hope this helps. Hi aquarels! If you purchase a domain through Shopify, and later decide to cancel your subscription, you are welcome to move it to a third-party domain registrar at any time. Just be sure to transfer your domain BEFORE canceling your subscription.
If you decide to transfer your domain, you'll have to do so within 30 days of initiating the transfer process.

Additionally, domain hosting services are only available with a paid Shopify plan. If you want to close your store or your Shopify account, and you want to keep using your domain, then you must transfer your domain before you close your store.
If you use Shopify Lite, this gives you access to inventory and syncing sales channels including social media, Amazon, eBay, and others, but you won't have the website building tools.
As far as your shirts and hats, setting up a supplier or creating them would be something you'll handle. You could choose to use Oberlo, which is a paid dropshipping app you can add to Shopify in their app shop, and you can create custom-made t-shirts, which sounds like what you had in mind. You simply make your store/product visible to potential customers by sending out email campaigns (using ESP) to 1000-5000 email contacts leaving them an option to sign up with their email addresses which would land them into your store site. I hope this really helps..
