This dude portrays anger probably better than any actor I've ever seen. The trembling and his speech patterns, the look in his eyes is authentic rage. How it morphs back and forth into sadness and regret. Bravo.

I think I may have met him at the airport I was working at in Lafayette, La but I'm not too sure because it was almost 2 years ago and by the time he left I realized who he was. If it was him he didnt look like what he looks like in movies and shows. Very nice guy though.
I remember Tom Pelphrey from his soap opera days. He was extremely talented and had crazy potential. So impressed by this 'breakout' role as Kurt. The tattoos make my skin crawl but the actor's handsome and plays Kurt with a certain soft-spoken magnetism. His obvious remorse and need to atone for his past make him so sympathetic, even though I was fighting it.
Amanda, exactly. I loathe everything that those tattoos stand for but love Tom Pelphrey's ability to bring Kurt Bunker to life and making me want to cheer him on in spite of his because he is trying to become something better. Serious kudos to Pelphrey, this scene with Servito is amazing.
The actor did such a great job. That is authentic, real rage. The trembling the tears the sadness, everything is real. I’ve watched a lot of shows and movies but I’ve never seen an actor capture and channel those emotions so well.

What a performance. Such an underrated actor. This and Ozark just shows how talented this dude is. He just outperforms every mutherfukin he's on screen with.

@Moon Cricket First off, my comment was from 2 years ago. Why feel the need to kick up shit now? Second, nobody said anything is wrong with pride in your heritage, but did you even watch the fucking show or know why people take issue with neonazis irl? Its the violence part while trying to excuse it, don't skip on that for convenience. Third, BLM isn't about "heritage pride" to begin with. And they are a bunch of retards anyway that use excuses to burn cities, so nice job comparing yourself to them.
Everyone's talking about Tom Pelphrey's acting in this scene as they damn well should but I wanna shoutout Matt Servitto as well. I thought he and Tom had incredible chemistry together on screen and I just love the way that he delivers that last line in this clip. Just one cop genuinely looking out for the well-being of another.
Too real. The shame and guilt of knowing you used to be scum, it's suffocating. You still feel like scum. And you know there's nothing you can do to change the awful past, no matter how badly you want to. No matter how much you hate what you are and what you used to be.
I saw this guy in ironfist, and he immediately stood out to me, then i see clips of him in ozark and hes amazing on there, and now i see clips of him in banshee and hes phenomenal!! This guy is actually insane when he acts, its almost like i believe he went through those things his characters went through, its scarily convincing.
Bunker could have legit carried this series longer as the sheriff, but honestly this show was incredible all on its own and ended perfectly at the right time.
I fucking loved this character in this, amazing show! Such depth of emotion, he was absolutely fantastic. I was obsessed with this show, so many amazing characters, the ordinary backdrop just drew me to it more. This guy though was awesome, he definitely deserves accolades, and more leading roles than he's getting, his range is huge.
They should have a show about it. Because you feel every raw painful emotion there is, in that broken man. But the actor who plays him brings that to the table even in the Netflix show, Iron Fist.
I swear to god, Matt Servitto has been an under the radar S tier talent for decades now, from Mafia 1 and the Sopranos all the way here, he's consistently great!
Can't wait until season 4 JUST to see Bunker come out and get to know about him. The second I saw Bunker I was like DAYUM, Banshee is gonna reach a whole new level.
this scene is powerful for two reasons..one its a fine acting job obviously, and two...it relates to whats happening with cops today which is obvious as well
I can call Bunker underused, and that may be true. But it remains that this scene is among the strongest in the whole series, and immediately won me over on Bunker 100%
This is why people should always give people another chance and should never hold resentment since u never know what someone is goin thru. I like how Kurt portrays regret and shame and without people willing to love us then we tend to feel alone even tho none of us are clean in this world.
Just found this show because i saw a scene of this guy. He single handedly made me watch the show. And im about to start season 4. And somehow they made me love an ex neo nazi. By far one of the most impressive scenes of acting i have ever seen.
I feel for Kurt, in a way, he's victimized by circumstances in childhood. Falls in with a bad crowd that twist him up, and he still tries to be a better man. Striving for redemption, or forgiveness, or maybe inner peace. His sheer stubborn refusal to take the easy road back to his old life is.something to respect
