    😂😂😂 You were cracking me up!!! You are so cute. When you were saying you moved your camera mount so it didn’t crack you in the head and get a concussion. I was laughing so hard, probably because that would happen to me!!! Very fun video. Just subscribed. Thanks fo making me laugh. Take care ❤️

    Laurel! this is a video I've been trying to find! Thank you for sharing. I have been staying with one of my daughters and her fam for 2 years and she gifted me the 25 cubbie unit I had in my room to put things in. I love having it. They moved more east than I wanted to, so I am temporarily staying with my oldest daughter then moving in with my middle daughter when they get in February. I make lots of cards for myself and whomever wants them in my area, (church ladies, friends, family, senior living facilities). I don't know much about Ikea but maybe in the next week or so I can talk my daughter into taking me so I can get some of the items you showed and explained. This video is just what I needed!

    OMG Laurel....seriously, your craft room is absolutely STUNNING! So well organized, clean and fresh looking! I thought turning the top shelf of the raskog upside down to use a work surface was awesome! And that window....I could go on and on! I picked up 3 incredibly useful tips! Thank you so much for sharing your amazing studio! I absolutely love it....can you tell LOL!

      Hey Laurel....QUESTION: Regarding the Cutterpillar, is the light board for underneath the glass mat? Excuse my ignorance but I don't know anything about light boards but my problem is, as I'm an older crafter I have frustrations when trying to see what I'm doing when crafting, especially if working with adding intricate pieces or coloring intricate designs. Do you think the light board would help me see better when working on a project, assuming it goes underneath the glass mat? Thanks again Laurel

    Great idea to flip the ikea bin upside down on the Raskog. Personally, I'd rather have a topper so I could use the storage, too, but I would have never thought to do this.

    Loved your organizational thinking. I have been looking at Ikeas furniture and really love how everything we crafters have can fit well somewhere. 30 years ago I used just a small square of glass because it is so good to work on then replaced it with a self healing mat. All good but I’m delighted the glass mats are available now but much larger and safer. Thanks for the tour and enjoyed looking at such a clean room. Doesn’t happen often I know but it is so delightful to see.

    Instead of flipping the top shelf of the cart upside down, you could cut a piece of pressboard to fit the top instead. This way you could use the inside as storage, plus not lose the extra space below it for the 2nd shelf (where the lip of the shelf would hang down if upside down). I like the nail polish storage idea! I may have to get some!

    Awesome tips, Laurel, & I love how organized your craft space is! A cheaper source for magnet sheets is Home Depot. (Your favorite place, I know! LOL) I get magnetic vent covers there--in the section with the metal vents & air filters--and cut them down. I can get (9) 5x7.75" sheets out of one package of 3 vent covers. I do store my dies in storage pockets, so I just adhere the magnet sheets to cheap cardstock (cut slightly wider) with Scor Tape, and stick my dies to those in the pockets. Works great for me! The important thing is NOT to use liquid glue to adhere the magnet sheets to the cardstock. Even after the glue dries, the moisture oozes through the sheet and forms a film on the surface that can rust your dies. Ask me how I know! :P Anyway, thanks for this video, Laurel! Take care, and have a wonderful day! :)

    Great video. I am waiting for a delivery from Ikea (hopefully in two weeks) of all new furniture for my craft room. It is quite small (only 9' x 9' 8") so good organization is paramount. There were lots of good ideas in this video and I'm so glad that I found it. Unfortunately, the items from OrganizeMore have quite long lead times. I think I'll need to make a trip to Ikea to pick up organizational items for my drawers. Thank you for sharing.

    Hi there Laurel. I am taking a creative break and saw your tutorial on "organization" instruction. The word "organize" makes me cringe because I need to do a craft room destash and cleanup soon. Watching videos with other friends organizing is so stress-free for me. Great inspiration for those like me who want to do" it" it as in "organize", but always find something else to do instead. I love to "destash" because I never get rid of anything so it is a quick project for me to accomplish. haha I enjoyed your tour. Isn't it great to watch each other's craft room organizing methods? We all have similar basic supplies, but we just have different hiding places for them. teehee I am enjoying a snowstorm while I see how organized you are. Toodles from Ontario Laurel. Great tute!!!

  • @MaryPrasadArt
    @MaryPrasadArt 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Thank you for sharing your craft room ideas. One thing you may want to change: don't leave brushes soaking in water - it will ruin them. It not only bends the bristles, but also loosens the ferrule adhesive, and may ruin the handle if it's wood (possibly growing mold or bacteria). I never leave brushes in water, even while painting. I lie them flat on my work surface. I also leave them flat to dry (I use The Masters brush cleaner to clean them, leaving some in the brush to hold their shape in storage). Still-standing water will grow bacteria as well. It's best to use fresh water (I use 2 glasses, short clear ones that I bought at the dollar store: one for rinse water and one for clean mixing).

      Allyson Lane you are welcome. I like lights that are similar to outdoor light & don’t flicker or flutter like florescent lights do.

    Laurel - how do you like that chair? I’ve been considering it for a few months as I love the Container Store.
    Did you make the die holders yourself? I think that is a great idea!

    • @LaurelBeard
      @LaurelBeard  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do like the chair. It's comfortable. It was more than I wanted to spend but if you look around, you can find a coupon. I think I found a $25 off coupon! The die holders? Yep. It's a magnetic frame from ikea, some magnetic sheets from Ellen Hutson and the dies! :) Thanks so much!

    I heard from some other video, can't remember what one, that storing distress inks on their sides would cause all the ink on the pad to pool on the bottom side and eventually start ozzing out. Have u had any problems like that?

    • @LaurelBeard
      @LaurelBeard  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, I sure haven't. And they have been stored this way for YEARS!

      I love my Alex drawers, I will say I have stored wooden stamps in mine before and overloaded it to the point that the bottom of the drawer bowed.. They are great, but I will say be careful of the weight you put in them..

    Hi there! Great video, really enjoyed it and got some great tips! Here's one back - in Sweden, IKEA now has a cutting board that is made for the Råskog cart. It's called Högsma but I'm not sure you can get it in the US. Here's a link to it on the UK website: www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/hoegsma-chopping-board-bamboo-90446619/

    I wish you would record at a higher volume. My volume is maxed out & I can barely hear anything you're saying. Please keep in mind when you are recording that not everyone hears as well as others. If you record a higher volume those that can hear well can turn their sound down, however those of us that don't hear as well we are limited as to how far we can turn the volume up. Sadly, you could very likely be missing a lot of viewers because we cannot hear what you're saying. Just some food for thought. Have a blessed day.
