When you have finished your routine maintenance start driving it like you stole it. You ca’t hurt it.
    Next steps I would suggest:
Connect with the ZR-1 Registry. They can help with parts no longer stocked by GM as ZR-1 parts but still available under different part numbers. They also know who has what parts beyond GM.
Connect with ZR-1 experienced service. Marc Haibeck services my ’95 ZR-1. Haibeck Automotive Technology
He has made the following mods which I recommend. You can also do bore and stroke increases but if gets expensive.
    Open up the intake manifold
    Headers
    Aluminum flywheel
    3:10 axle
    Shifter with a shorter throw.
These mods are worth about 100 hp and will light up the car on acceleration.

A typo. That should have been a 4:10 axle. The FIA record ZR-1 used a 2.73 axle. It all depends on what you want to do.

A minor point but putting a date on the fuel filter is a good idea . Glad you got the drain plugs sorted out .

Good job my friend!!! Really nice unit in white color. I have one 90 ZR-1 black on black here in Spain and it's like a dream come true. Congratulations for your channel. Very good visual technical information.

Oh wow those stuck plugs would have scared me as well with cracking the case! Glad that worked out!

Enjoying the ZR-1 content. From what I have seen online, they make a smooth coupler for the throttle body to the air box and some folks do the air box mod with the K&N. Not sure how much gain that would bring on the LT5.

    A couple of things.
6:00 Disappointing that AC Delco fuel filters are made in China. I buy a quality brand that is NOT made in China.
Also, if you pull the rubber boot off the fuel filler and clamp the fuel line, you won’t get covered in petrol when you remove the fuel filter. It tends to siphon the fuel because the filter is in a lower position than the tank.
Secondly, the foam seal that comes with the K & N filter dissolves when it comes in contact with the oil the filter is sprayed with. I didn’t use mine for this reason.
Love your vids. Keep them coming. 👍

Always a good feeling to change out almost 30 year old oil.
Just did it on my 94 Z28. Looked like chocolate milk coming out of the differential. 😩

Always a good idea to tackle the air intake filter fairly soon. I found pretty nice mouse nest up agaisnt the filter of my 93 from wherever the previous owner was storing it.
"So FYI. And whatever." 😂😂👌 you kill me sometimes Jeff!

Those plastic inserts are also used in the doors. I bought mine from Corvette Central and they are cheap.

Another good video. Years ago I had to pay a shop $20 to get a tranny fill (or drain??) plug removed. Must have been over torqued during the previous service.

    • @ReynoldsRides

I wish mine cost me $20. I paid A LOT more than that to get mine out 😩.

@@ReynoldsRides Well, in my case it may have been 15 years ago and there was much better access for a torch. But i hear you, i just paid $4.15/gallon for premium gas. That's the most expensive fuel i've bought in 45 years of driving.

I have a 94 C4 (Non ZR1) and just replaced my 02 sensors and my Fuel filter is next. Did you just pull the Fuel pump fuse and let it run out of gas to relieve the pressure. Also is there anything else i should do or remove beforehand. I have a little under 1/2 tank of fuel. Thanks love the c4 content.

Congrats on the zr1. I have a 90. That is good info on the drain/fill plugs from vw. Do you have the part numbers or how did you have them look them up when you called? Also do you know if they work for both blue and black tag zf’s? Thanks and enjoying the videos

    • @ReynoldsRides
      @ReynoldsRides  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Thanks! The part number is WHT-001-937. I believe they work for all ZFs but you might want to double check out in the forums.

Be very cautious with that foam seal the K&N set includes, i have seen a fair few of those that have turned to brittle dust and gone through the intake.
