Been through 3 tracker valves on my 1998 225 optimax. About every year or year and a half im having to replace one and i CAN NOT figure out why. Been to 3 shops and noone can tell me why its happening. I can not wait till i can afford a upgrade so i can get back on the water
I have an Optimax 225xl that throttles from 580rpm to 1180 rpms. I changed everything from cables to the tps. Nobody has ever had this problem. I need help
@JLW75642 3 minutes ago Late question to an old video but on a 2009 Mercury Optimax XL 225. if my airpump blew and the piston was cracked and I replaced teh airpump new belt and it ran fine. After being WOP I slowed down in a No wake zone and the motor died. It would nto start until I raised the motor/prop out of water started and then ran fine. Should I have checked the lines to see if there was any shavings of metal in lines or fuel filter? I cannot understand how it ran for a good 20 minutes I stopped started and then when I slowed in a no wake just died and would not start for over 5 tries until I raised motor up? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Tracker valve. Common problem . Mine had tear in it motor flooded. Gets fuel in air system.
My bet on the trolling motor is a steering sensor board
