Humour has been used for centuries as a coping mechanism to alleviate anxiety and grief. Whole feature films were made in the worst days of WW2 that were aimed at mocking the war.
My problem with Covid humour isn't that it exists (why should it be off limits as a topic?) The media just tack their agenda on to it and you end up with the cringeworthy shit on Colbert and Fallon.

There is absolutely no creativity. They just take an old established franchise, and then add some music than anybody can write.
I like that in every musical, they stop whatever they're doing and walk toward the audience to let you know that they're about to sing something. This gives you plenty of warning to go take a dump

Commercials make TV unwatchable. At least streaming services have shorter, limited or sometimes no commercial breaks. I can't listen to radio anymore either, just too many repetitive fuckin commercials.

They don't care to produce anything more than what's necessary. It's funded by the government so that they'll have something to put on this government-funded TV network to entice donations from viewers who already funded both the government and its TV network via taxation.
I felt serious second hand embarrassment from watching this play.
Guarantee there's gonna be a bigger role for the black mayor character and apologies for suggesting Marty gave Chuck Berry the sound he was lookin for. There's no way they'll be able to help themselves.
In this timeline, the black mayor is also a scientific expert doctor person (they/them) who enjoys facts and having the correct opinion on all things.
It's like the Planet of the Apes musical from The Simpsons.

I think the worst part is the vocals on "Power of Love". Like WTF, it doesn't even comes close to sounding like Huey Lewis singing it. Why is every cover played by or sounds like a character from Glee who has never smoked a cigarette in their life or experienced puberty? 🤷♂️
I knew "Doc" looked familiar. He was in Eli Roth's Hostel Part 2. He was one of the main characters who (spoilers) seems to be sympathetic despite being one of the people there to kill someone, then he turns out to be the worst one. If you look up the DVD he's on one of the covers that shows up the most.
I noticed that right away and remember that scene where he was castrated and it was thrown to the dogs. Horrible stuff!

One of the best musicals I’ve seen! Apart from the first trailer, all the other videos were just on British TV shows to promote the show and are very different to what you see in the actual musical.

I remember the 80s and thinking (This decade is totally gay). I'm no protector of 80s movies but all non-musical movies must stop being brought to the stage as lame musicals.
It's not even done with any sort of tact or flow. They ramble then sing a song then ramble. And the style of music is always hyper gay pop now, so far removed from musicals people actually value, almost all of the classic songs I can think of are slow like "Pure Imagination", "Somewhere Over The Rainbow", "Suddenly Seymour", "Hopelessly Devoted", "Doll On A Music Box", "A Whole New World", "This Is Halloween", "Circle Of Life"... they aren't jazz-hand songs
