i agree so much!! i’ve been a dog person all my life, and when i moved by myself i got to save 2 cats and kept them, now i don’t want anything to do with dogs☠️ not in a bad way, just that with these two little guys they have all my heart and have changed my views on cats forever❤️

As a vet student, I really appreciate that Matt mentioned the hardships of vets, because the majority of us love animals and always recieve them when the pets' at it's worse, because owners rarely take them in when the conditions are begining. And its true, unless your pets taken in for surgery, in a good clinic they will treat the animal in front of you!

Please get the cat used to the chickens!! They CAN be friends. I fostered many cats, all of them raised around free-roaming bunnies. They acted like it was normal. No predatory behavior at all.
Mariah and heath this episode made my heart melt. I am a student trying to become a vet and this story is what drives me to study more and work harder ! This new generation of vets hopefully they will learn not to treat animals as another “client” but i can confidently say that not every clinic is the same and there is people that put everything they got to help an animal. Absolutely loved this episode keep us updated ❤ can’t wait to get more pictures ❤

As a person Who wants to go into the vet industry I really appreciate Matt bringing up the reality of vets. It is a very hard job to deal with but knowing your taking care of them is a special thing to do.
as someone who’s worked in the ER + specialty for 6yrs; not to make an excuse for the people you dealt with, but it is very easy to become desensitized to things like that - personally i’m very emotional basically constantly so I would’ve been crying the whole time trying to explain everything to you 😅 also unfortunately lots of places, especially where y’all live, veterinary prices are V E R Y high at this time. I’m also surprised they didn’t give and/or send an itemized list of what they did because all 3 clinics i’ve worked at always do that ? Y’all have such a big heart for what you do ❤
also to add on, unfortunately in i think all ER hospitals owners can’t come back due to patient confidentiality and there’s usually INSANE stuff happening back there that would probably traumatize someone who’s not expecting it or used to it. Most primary care centers can do things with the owner in the room because it’s more like a check-up rather than traumas like in the ER

I rescued a two week old kitten and had to do all the same things. The bond is unbelievable bc they have to depend on you to survive all day every day. It’s the most amazing experience I’ve ever been through. So happy for you guys! ❤ My cat is 8 months old now ❤ she’s also part Maine coon! She’s so beautiful and special. She’s my best friend. She loves fetch playing in water and going on walks on her harness. I love it soo much.
I would LOVE to hear your guys' take on the AmericanAirlines lady who freaked out and said her seat neighbor wasn't real. The flight was delayed for hours, many people do believe the lady that she saw some sort of shapeshifter!!!! I would've been so scaredddd. love the podcast.
As a fellow vet student, the vet makes every decision in the hospital including patient decisions. Vets are 100% able to decline patients that do not need to be euthanized, although there are those who are in the practice for money… love you guys!!! Can’t wait to see more of the kitten ❤
So excited you guys are going through this kitten journey ❤️ I foster for the local shelter and I’ve done pregnant/ nursing moms. Thankfully no horror stories yet but watching the bond and the nursing mother raising her babies is so beautiful. Good luck to you guys and Deano 💕

Siamese are the besstttt💕 we have one named Waffles(found her in a storm drain on a military base), and my husband got her tattooed on his forearm 😅

Heath and Mariah need a farm asap! ❤ My husband is a locksmith and does lock picking professionally. It's funny when we are watching a movie and someone does "lock picking" and he always says "it's not that easy" 😂 At my high school it was a private school and we had like 100 kids (mostly dorm kids, but I was not a dorm kid). We had a fridge that we could put our lunch in and as long as our name was on it no one would take our lunch. Now i have a backpack cooler that I use as a lunch bag for work.
now imagine this- i've been out sick from work the past few days and spent my time yesterday catching up on the last few podcast episodes. i went into work today to find a thick stack of client papers on my desk, the first client in the stack being Heath Hussar...I hope you're satisfied with your handle repair and everything is up to standard lol 😂

I used to think cats do their own thing when your away until I saw what mine did on camera while I was away ! She cried all the time and slept and barely ate her food she was so worried ! I always make sure to leave the TV on and it helps her while I'm gone . Some cats do have separation anxiety 😢

I rescue cats, I’ve had three pass from fading kitten and in my experience emergency vets are very cold and clinical cause they’re so used to seeing the worst of it. I’ve always had much better experiences with family vets that have the hospitality but also the access to recourses. You guys did everything you could and that cat had a much better last day because of yall ❤️
Clowns are actually pretty common in Mexico. You can see them at kid’s birthday parties. They are super fun, tell jokes, have games, it’s a good time ! There’s even comedians that dress like clowns and come out on shows

just wanted to say, i have 2 cats and 10 chickens. And they all get along! We got the chickens before we got the cats, and our cats are actually kinda scared of the chickens! They will walk around where the chickens are but if a chicken walks up to them, they’ll run away🙉.
Cat distribution system !! How I got all three of mine. My brother met someone at a store who overheard him and his gf saying I wanted car and they had cats so we took two from the litter, not so crazy. but my third walked into the grocery store I was working at and came right up to my register so I took him home. He was covered in fleas. I picked them off for weeks off this tiny little kitten and now he’s a big ol ginger cat. The other two are calico. cats are the coolest ever , they have such a connection to their humans 🫶🏻
I work in a level 1 trauma center for animals we get people from all over different states for what only we offer. I loved this episode. I have never caught myself talking back to the screen so much!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
