“You gotta trust that you don’t know what you’re doing, but that you’ll figure it out along the way”
Dude that’s 🔥 🔥
That's life in general mate, ey?
@@Hierosirabsolutely. Love it!
Yeah it’s dope seeing the highest level player saying that
@@clixsyt100%
He’s talking crap
He knows exactly what he’s doing, & if he didn’t, you can bet his coach, nutritionists etc. do.
How people just take everything on face value, just because ‘he said it’ baffles me.
The real wisdom is at the end of this clip. Even Mr. Olympia knows that he knows nothing. Truly humble.
Seeing this after him winning the 2024 Olympia, hits different. The mind game he plays is the reason he wins! Inspiring! 💪😎
@@aqeelbashorun2743 you're right, he only ranked 1st (according to Wikipedia and other internet sources)
@@aqeelbashorun2743 Yes he did
@@aqeelbashorun2743he won classic physique 2024. That’s where he competes, he has never entered the open.
Genetics is the reason he wins
This guy is so self aware, smart and humble he's a rare commodity in the body building world as most dont have his skill set

As a software engineer this hits even harder
Is this why my bf needs an app and calipers for everything lol. I do my workouts following my mind ehehhe
So true
Nice to see fellow devs who workout
Give this icon a superman role 🎉❤
Chris might be the most chill Mr. Olympia ever.
I dunno man jay cutler was also super chill
I think he’s just kinda slow lol

"yeah i do cardio" *walks aggressively*
The last line = true wisdom ❤
The key is to have the discipline to do it. Most of us can’t be that dialed in to anything.
It's a lot easier when it's literally your job. It's harder to do when you have to worry about your day job, wife, kids, mortgage, etc
@@bjf5027this is true. But even with unlimited time and money, almost no one else would do better than him in discipline and gains. Let’s not pretend like we would
I dont even care what cbum says, I'm just simply doing it too. He's obviously honest enough not to lie about those little things, so if he's getting that much results, I just trust him.
PS.: I was skipping cardio on leg day and doing it fast and long every time i actually did it. But now I'm adding walking on leg day and another session slower and shorter in at night
"you've got to trust that you dont know what you are doing but you will figure it out along the way"🔥
A bit surprised by people saying this isn’t sustainable. 3 meals a day is just breakfast lunch and dinner, an extra meal can easily be spread over a morning and afternoon break at work. Even the walking is fine. Get up early do a 45 minute walk, if you don’t have a treadmill go outside. If you do have a treadmill just set it up so you can do it while watching tv.
What he's doing isn't sustainable, nor is it meant to be, it's a extreme cut in the final prep for competition.
@ I’m not saying go in a diet. What I’m saying is people in the comments were saying how unrealistic it is to eat 4 meals a day and walk 45 minutes. Any able bodied person should be able to do that.
On the face of it yes, if it's three or four normal meals and you're a normal size, say 400kcal for breakfast 750kcal dinner and tea and an hour walk, fine if you're a 170lb bloke, but change that to a 235lb man doing weight training, maybe less carlories in those meals.@@WilliamPayneNZ
@ I’m 270 pounds at 5 foot 6. I can eat that much food no problem. That’s my issues that I can eat that much. I’m trying to stick to a calorie deficit. It’s harder to eat less than it is to eat more.
You gotta trust your hunches too, to some extent
Hard not to like this guy!! 😎
Love how the spektruk of Cardio is so different depending on the sport you are in. "Cardio" for a cyclist is zone 2 for 5+ hours on a what would be heavy load for average people. For bodybuilders Cardio is walking lol.
Cycling in and of itself is cardio, so of course if you are training in a cardio intensive sport, what you would call 'cardio' is just an even more exaggerated version of that. In reality, cardio is any activity that increases your heart rate, breathing and blood flow. For most people walking is more than enough, as long as you do it for enough time.
And lifting for a cyclist would be a day at the beach for him. Kinda like it’s all about the outcome huh? Crazy
I will always prefer cardio to weights, but I've come to realise weights are important, so I'm doing more
It’s all a balance brother
@@andrewg35 yes I'm doing more of both, but not overdoing like I have in the past. Balance in everything, including balance.
Yeah resistance training is very important for muscle, tendon, and ligament strength and longevity, as well as bone density. Gotta do both.
How is your comment even getting likes, who cares what you like
@@stefangavrilovic1992hating
I love the way he thinks 🙌
He is right of walking in incline. I do all the way up and i feel the incline could be higher. No running saves your joints.
running will really only affect your joints if you run for like an hour everyday. a couple 30 min sessions a week would be fine. just have good form, keep it light not slam into ground
@@curdledmayonnaisethis. 2-3 of those a week is ideal for cardiovascular health + staying muscular
Trust ya gut and figure it out, have a go dont be scared
Trust the process!! Problem solving is how you know you’re good at what you do.
Personal opinion but this version of Cbum is better than the onstage version lol. Like he doesnt look weak and starved, he looks healthy here
Love these short exercising vids 🫡
So cool to hear it just clear and down to a science like that. Vs ppl just saying “you need carbs bcus they’re important for your overall health”
Yes they are :)😊 for averages person and for him most likely too when he’s not getting ready to get on stage. There is a context to everything
the dude has 4 meals a day with carbs while cutting to become more lean than a human being ever should and somehow your takeaway is that carbs are useless?
At his level, carbs are the only macro he has any room to manipulate. He's not gonna risk his protein intake, and the vast majority of bodybyilders already minimize fat calories to maximize carb calories. It's only logical that reducing food = reducing carbs this deep into his prep
I also hesitate to say this (bc it seems Bumstead doesn’t want to focus on it too much, understandable) but I wonder how he’s doing with the IgA nephropathy. I wish he’d do an updated video on it. It’s just INCREDIBLE what he has achieved…and I’m not sure most people realize that he’s also doing this with a rare autoimmune/kidney disease. He’s going to be on of the all-time great bodybuilders DESPITE having a rare disease. He has my respect.
Where can I get the tee from? 🔥🔥🔥
I thought working out twice a day was more than enough for me 🤣
Cardio 💨
Love fasted training
This is the realest shit I’ve heard t
Bro looks like he on some type of shrooms😅😅😅
Lee Priest would walk up to 3 hours a day during prep to compensate for not wanting to drop carbs below like 250g a day. There's many ways to get to the same point. I don't think Chris went much below 150-180 per day this prep, as opposed to recent years when he would go well under 100.
But I think fatigue would be much more higher and slower recovery. Idk nothing anyways, my opinion only.
that's a lot of cardio wow
45 minutes of acid🤯🤯🤯🤯
He is quite flexible with his diet
Completely correct. I learned this from Mike M training theories. Zone 2 45 min in AM fasted will burn fat off. I laugh when I see people beating the crap out of themselves on a treadmill thinking they will lose fat. I used to be that guy.
I love people that think they are actually doing anything really helpful by walking on the treadmill. 'Beating the crap out of themselves' is getting their heart rate up to a very high level, that is the key here.
@@brianhartman7135A. You’re just flat out wrong. Anything Zone 2 or above will work your heat and cardiovascular system. Ask any endurance athlete. B. Ask any runner about how their knees are. Ask any long time runner how many injuries they’ve had.
You gotta log off.
@@trnc9082 It depends on the current shape of that person. Sure, for older people or people recovering from injury, sure, walking can help but if you are healthy enough to at least light jog, get off your a-- and work.
Arnold was the same way. If you keep your diet consistent, you can just make like calibrations and get predictively results. Arnold, for example would just cut out the glass of wine he had with dinner. Check after a few days.. Go down to half the starch serving. Check.
It's easy when you are organized.

Not required to do so much cardio unless u are competing at that level.

What? 😂 No he doesn't. Not in the slightest.
It’s dieting/ training to become Mr Olympia. Obvs it’s unsustainable 😂

- Donald Rumsfeld prior to 2003 invasion of Iraq … 😅
Bro could only shave, and be more lean than the entire world.
I imagine that he lives eats sleeps this daily, so maybe its not like Dr Mike Isratel who also has a job outside of this. In other words, he is his body, the striation in his muscles are visible and he's not on the "fast down" yet.
I find it hilarious that bodybuilders class walking for 45 mins as cardio. Don't get me wrong, its better than nothing, but if your HR is consistently getting high enough from a brisk walk that you can accurately class it as cardio, you've probably got some serious cardiovascular health issues (which given the amount of gear they're on, is probably the case for most). Call it what it is - zone 1, fat loss training. It's what mums do in the park on weekends.
idk man, when someone weight 300 pound and 5% bf, its probably the best to do light cardio to retain those muscles, again Idk maybe you are a better bodybuilder than cbum
Never take away food. Do more cardio / workout. - Lee Priest
The fact that CW looks kinda small …
Walking is cardio?😂🤣🤣
Chrith bumthtead
Isn’t it amusing when people argue the weight loss is genetic and impossible to control?
Dude getting tired from talking, that might also be his cardio
Probably doesn’t have anything to do with the fact that he is working out in between talking or anything
That not cardio, it's low intensity activity to burn some calories, not training your stamina.

This guy is great but he has some kidney disease which he should consider 🙏
People look for any excuse not to run. Running is a key cardio requirement and most bigger guys this simply cannot run very long. Yeah yeah, joints and knees.. Keep telling yourself that.
This is gay, unattainable, and unsustainable
What do you look like then bud? 😂
He's a frikkin bodybuilder on prep....of course it's unsustainable, that's why they only do it for a short period of time.
It’s his job. He earns millions from it, and is set for life, unless he does something really, really stupid. Some sacrifices are worth it.
