Travis Scott Brown is a BEAST!!! I used to ride with Him off the track, feared nothing and was extremely talented. Moreover a great friend. Thanks for all you taught me Scott!!!
rip mike healey man this track brings back so many mems thanks for posting! i started racing there 2 years after this video
mike healey is not dead...
Those downhills look brutal especially being on a 500!
Track looks sweet. Bummer I never got to ride it
I would love to see a modern national on a hard packed track like this!
Me too. Racers complaining about track conditions, especially today, get me raising an eyebrow. Back in its roots, motocross was cut through natural terrain by the bikes themselves. Wouldn't hurt to bring some of that back a race or two a year. Well, for us fans at least. I'm sure the factories and racers want nothing to do with it, as it could really shake up their championship strategies.
Mike Craig taught me some riding tricks at my local track back in 1990. I'll always remember that.
Open class: 350 2-strokes, 500cc 2-strokes, big bore 4-strokes, (before being forced by a dictatorship). Quite a few free market options for a class that would be extinct in a few years.
This was a good mix in the class IMO. Did I see a small tail light on one of the rear fenders?
Not in this order but my favorite riders are. . Team Yamahas Michael Craig. Team Kawasakis Jeff emig and Kawasakis denny Stephenson. And Kawasakis tallin vohland. . Great racing here at Carlsbad. Love and miss this track. . Good memories. Good times
Great So Cal moto!
Commotion by the ocean
Those Cagvias
I think they got info wrong Turner on a 500 2 stoke Greg Z in a 4 stoke ATK
This track is gone, right? Are there houses now?
Long gone 😢
20:35 Showing Mike Healey's new KTM. "The Euro bikes sit a little taller than the Japanese bikes."
MXA of that day would complain about them being too tall.
Today, (new generation), there is no such thing as a bike that is too tall for MXA.
Ever sit on a modern YZ250 2-stroke? It is like discrimination against anybody under 5'11" tall.
Is he on a XR600?? What the heck is he riding lol
Just an Al Baker top end and pipe, some stiffer suspension springs, a good set up, and it would be as good as what ever Jett is riding. :)
OK, I will admit it. I got beat by an XR250 at a Red Bud weekend night race, (Small night track near Red Bud road). He might have podiumed.
The guy was on the gas,----everywhere.
Eli's coming...,
in your mouth?
