- Top Billin' dissects the skill set of Seahawks EDGE Darrell Taylor, who Murf Baldwin believes is the team's most natural pass rusher. New head coach Mike Macdonald's scheme may best utilize that skill set. #seattleseahawks #gohawks

I’ve genuinely prayed to god that DT learn to set an edge
A lot of talent, just wish for more consistency on the setting that edge😭
"Sacked him into an invalid" Murf provides top tier analysis and comedy!
Portland Oregon
It reminds me of 10 years ago when teams were foaming at the mouth, waiting for Seattle to make their roster cuts. I love the D-Line depth. This will be my 58th season of football and I am still just as excited as a kid on Christmas eve. I love this game.
YAKIMA WASHINGTON.
Props from Walla Walla Washington.
Dam. So much talent on this defense. They have the ingredients to be a special team defensively. Hopeful we won’t be near the bottom defensively this year.🤘
Riverside, California
Bruh 😂
Man I enjoy watching you break down film. I watched every single snap of Seahawks football in last decade and you always show me something I never seen. Like when you show Taylor faint the OL and give him a dam Iverson cross over and sprint down the line of scrimmage to make the play on opposite side of field. Dope.
Appreciate that, James!! Glad when I can always chop it up with Real Football Heads.
Great analysis Murph.
Our man Taylor has skills and tools for sure. He can become a dancer at times. Even the clip you showed against Cinci, he has a three-steps-and-go move. Complete with head fakes too. I Love his straight line burst. Uncanny really. Here is a man who if he allows himself to get coached-up and finished with a dozen+ sacks, he will make some serious cash. Great choice to bring him back.
Taylor has a lot of talent, and I think Coach Mac will get the most out of it.
Im really looking forward to seeing what this defense ultimately turns out to be. We've had the talent in place, but now we have a coach who's thinking and scheming for the modern day NFL. Absolutely nothing against Pete, but it really did seem that sometines he was a bit stuck in the old school train of thought. *Anyway*
This could be a very lethal crew for any team we face this season! I won't go as far as to declare the 2nd coming of the LOB, as that's not fair to this crop of players. But the potential is certainly there.
Another fine serving of that hibachi, as always it is much appreciated!
“That’s hard”… favorite Murph quote 💪🏾😮💨
Haha! Word up, son, word!
Love Darrel Taylor, I think he’s natural as hell as a pass rusher, he just looks comfortable and feel like he has great improv skills. And seeing any kind of progress as a run defender only gets me more excited.
Louisiana boy stuck in West Texas
Love DT. Glad we retained him despite the no minds calling for his career. Great analysis Murph.
Moved from Seattle to Knoxville, Tennessee and still love the Seahawks. Big difference going from an NFL city to College Football town. SEC is a whole different beast.
That's definitely a drastic move and difference. I lived in the south before and college sports, SEC as you said, is king. Out here in Jersey/NYC/Philly - I rarely see anything dealing with college football. College basketball out here is very big, though, and I'm a huge hoops head, so I love it. But this area is definitely a professional sports area. Which do you prefer?
@@TopBillinSports in terms of quality of life… definitely Tennessee. Remember all those nasty comments from last year? Imagine those people but as your neighbors, co workers, crack heads living in tents in front of your house, random people you interact with daily. Not all are bad but it sure feels like it. Finally got tired of it. Seattle easily has some of the rudest nastiest people in the country. It’s called the Seattle Freeze, it’s a real term to describe how terrible most people in Seattle are.
I do love the sports. Growing up watching Ken Griffey Jr, Sean Kemp, Gary Payton, and those Mike Holmgren Seahawks was such an honor. Hell, my son’s name is Griffin and we call him Griffey… his 4 now and my wife still hasn’t figured out I wanted to name him after the kid 😂 Then getting to see Pete Carroll win a superbowl before I left was insane.
If I put aside my sentimental feelings, I’d say living in a college football town is probably a better sports environment. The Vols are a way of life down here. Hard to even describe. In Seattle you’ll find plenty of non sports fans but here? Still waiting to meet one. The traditions of SEC football is also really awesome.
I just follow both Seattle and UT and I get home sick for the sports from time to time but your content actually really helps. Thanks for all you do man!
@@crmcbrideww -- Haha bro, welcome to Jersey. Out here is the New York Metro area and the southern part of the state is Philly Metro area: The two known rudest cities in the country with Jersey being the rudest state... So, as bad as Seattle probably is, this concrete jungle out here makes that look like a walk in the park.
I was mainly just talking sports, bro. Do you like living in a college sports dominated area or professional sports? Nashville is weird, because it's definitely a ton of Vols fans there, Vanderbilt isn't that popular, but the Titans are pretty popular. It's one of the few southern cities where it may be more geared towards professional sports. Hockey and soccer, too, right?
@@crmcbrideww - Shouts to my man, Griffin, too!
3:28 Hit him with the Nate McMillan crossover LOL!!!
Checking in from Anchorage Alaska. Can’t wait to see DT next season in the new scheme
Murph got range! Props for the Nate McMillan reference
In a Hoops Head, bro. Huge hoops head since like 1992
Thanks for the video! As a Seahawk fan, I'm worried about our ILBs making it through the season healthy. With years of Wagner and Wright, I feel spoiled. I just don't know what to expect with the all new coaching staff.
Murph! Good stuff as usual! Honestly, I can see DT getting 10+ sacks this year. I think the 3rd down nascar package is going to be NASTY!
Thanks Murf! I dislike him as often as I like him as a player. I appreciate the coverage from here in the FL Panhandle!!
I feel you on that; I appreciate ya!!
Salute! Appreciate it as always !!
Great content and analysts as always Murph! Thank you I appreciate ya!
This will be a fun team to watch this year for sure!
Yessir, JB!!! Yessir!
I think Taylor provides us with quality depth, something that is much underrated but much needed. Just on a different subject that significantly affects the Hawks. The Purdy phenomena. I don't rate analysts like Cowherd and Nick Wright who have never been at the 'coal face' but who seem to have an opinion on everything. The old Viking saying: the wolf loses little sleep over the opinions of sheep...Springs to mind. Do you rate him? Is he going to be a pain in our butts for decades? I understand it is early days but I value your objective, professional analysis.
Loved watching Taylor play in college and thought hed transition well, tons of natural talent. However, we can't forget some of his blunders... Late hit on Jared Goff where he was just sure he sacked him and when he came off the sideline and laid a block on someone
I'm dissecting film and seeing how he may benefit from a core scheme change. Bringing up blunders and what not is kind of pointless at this stage.
@@TopBillinSports I guess I was more so leaning in the direction of questioning his awareness. Hopefully they were just blunders and he's not blitzing the QB that's already gotten rid of the ball.
@@pvponphones I feel you, bro
Checkin in from King County Washington 🤙🏻 go hawks!
Much love from VA!
Murph! Hell Yeah! Colorado Springs , Colorado
Beautiful out there!!!
Honestly always thought Darell Taylor was a interesting player he definitely has talent he just need that scheme that Mike I think can bring out of him great vid Murph 💪🏽
Melbourne, Australia…. Love your work Murph.
Angry Chris Clemons (Seattle Great) was thee best at holding the edge. D. Taylor is a freak, smart too
Your boy CC was THAT DUDE!! Several teams missed out on him early on!!
Checking in from Little Rock, Arkansas!!!!! Splickitiyow!!!
Edinburg,Tx much love.!
Checking in from Federal Way, Washington
I like him but I think it was as much a scheme issue as anything. I want to see what he does with MM
If we could get something for him I think it’d be for the best, but having him in a rotation it’s dangerous, too.
Thanks!
Danno!
I say we keep him, as you said he’s a natural pass rusher plus he’s shown promise in pressured situations. Keep him rested up overall during games and utilize him in red zone 3rd downs or just needed 3rd downs in general. He creates great disruption as well which adds to his likelihood of benefits towards significant 3rd down pressures as long as he has a full head of steam to back him.
Yep, no doubt! Designated Sniper on 3rd downs. Let the other cats work the base downs.
@@TopBillinSports 110%, appreciate you doing the hawks content man, I know I love watching the film breakdown personally and think I can speak for most fans when I say that, much love from Nova Scotia Canada 🫡💯🇨🇦
You know I have to say,
Go HAWKS!!!!
born in Seattle but I live in Portland Ore!
How long a fan? The local TV station's ran "pick the new NFL team name!" contest!
I filled out the form found in the supermarkets, many times. I suggested " Orca's" Or "Killer Whales"
But as an adult I realize the choice was very stupid and my name was vastly superior.
still a bit bitter.
GO HAWKS!!!!!!
Nate McMillan reference brought back memories
Except Mac-10's next crossover will be his first. He's a poor man's John Stockton. He was a human chest pass. Perfect-attendance-ass having 70% free throw shooter.
Hi Murph:
A lot of people in the Seattle media are already predicting that Darrel Taylor will get cut and won’t make the 52 man roster this year - primarily because of his weakness in stopping the run. I’ve always liked DT and think that if he does get cut, some other team is going to scoop him up and get the benefit of a skilled pass rusher, capable of having double digit sacks over the season. Thanks for giving Darrel Taylor some of the respect he deserves.
Teams are salivating at the thought of a cat with 21 sacks in the last 3 seasons getting cut. He'd get scooped up fast.
Checkin in from SPOKANE, WA
Love your content! Why do i never see you do collabs?
Am i just skirting by the content?
Thanks. #Salute to Spokane... I don't do collabs and have no interest in them.
..keep the excellent content coming to Liberty Lake, Washington
Ahuevo! From the PNW originally, but living in México now and converting as many to fans as I can!
In Iowa, on assignment. HEY, Top Billin'!
RK in Iowa?! That's what's up, bro!! You learn something new everyday!
It seemed as if Seattle had a tackling problem, if Mike can correct this, we keep him. He has some good talent, and just needs to be molded into a better player.
Taylor ils awesome, i have thought son since d'Ay zone, love bis play !😊
Nate McMillan comment-Priceless!!!
He pulled a Kendall Gill reference a couple videos ago. Brilliant!
Nate McMillan reference for the win
The best "12th Man" ever.
I think that McDonald will get the best out of DT!
Brotha, we’re ready for more Falcons content!!!
How many times are you going to do this? I don't cover that team anymore. Not interested.
Much love from Ukraine
Much love to you and Ukraine!!
I hope those trade rumors are just rumors.
A guy like Byron Murphy is going to elevate everyone one else on the D line. Taylor is going to have a breakout year 12+ sacks
I wish I could still believe in DT. He has a role as a 3rd and long pass rusher but I’ve been burnt too many times by him to want to believe again
Spokane Washington watching murph
Seattle from birth, just moved to Ontonagon, Michigan.
In. Let him loose.
He had 9.5 sacks in 2022, so there is great potential there. Took a dip last year, but alot of guys on the defense took a step back and the whole defense ranked lower last year. But he can bounce back with the other fellas!
Darrell Taylor is the perfect middle ground between Rufus Porter and Jacob Martin.
He had 9.5 sacks in 2022? Didn't know that!!!!! SMH
@@TopBillinSports what are you talking about? It was on the status sheet on your video lol
@@fleshhammer656 - That's my point.
@@TopBillinSports oh....ok
Aloha from Hawaii
MAC-10 reference! Murf is a secret Seattleite I swear!
Bro, you guys gotta stop this angle. This has been me since I was a kid. Any team I cover I know all the hoopers and baseball players in that city because I'm a legit sports guy. Nothing to do with Seattle and I never did anything on Seattle until 7 years into my media career. I'm a sports head, bro. I'm going to ask politely for EVERYONE to stop this angle because it's played out and clearly something that irritates me. If it's not New Jersey, New York, DC, Baltimore, Philly, it's not me. Simple.
@@TopBillinSports No worries - no scandal Murf, just joshin' around. Do NOT want to be added to the Seahawks fans who give you a headache 😆 Love your work!!!
@@matthewreed7471 - Yet, you're acting goofy and doing the shit I hate the most?! Make it make sense. Anyway, thanks.
@@TopBillinSports Fair; I'll try and keep it business. Seriously, do appreciate the breakdowns and keen insights. I subscribe and will keep watching.
313 Murph!
Hopefully Coach MacDonald has a good plan for this guy. There's talent but there's also run game liability. Taylor needs a big year for his next contract.
Pretty sure the run game liability was highlighted here in this video, Sir.
@TopBillinSports Thank you Sir. Great video as always.
Vancouver
Yes , i van sée 11 wins if not more😊
Bro, come on. Taylor is a straight-up hole in the defense when he's on the field. 6 nice plays doesn't change that.
Yeah, as if 6 nice plays is the only plays he's ever made. And where on here does this say he's all-world or anything? I swear some of you just want attention. I pointed out how he's the most natural pass-rusher and should probably just be used on money downs to get after the QB. How is that hard to understand? Does the term "Designated Sniper" not compute?
Remember that time when DT made that great hit on an opposing QB who had handed the ball off an hour ago? Wacky times.
TF you come with some hating shit for?
@@TopBillinSports see this is the reason I stopped watching you last time. I see it was a mistake to change that policy. You, sir, are the one who is antagonistic. All I did was poke a little fun at a dumb thing DT did once that had us all scratching our heads. But please Mr Sensitive, enjoy your channel of cronies that worship everything you say. While I like your takes on football, you continue to remind me why you are not a nice person. I don't like you.
Yawn. I don't need a dissertation. The fact that you would think I would give two shits if you like me or not is wild. Who are you again? Coming in here trying to make some joke and being upset when it doesn't get the response you desired let's me know you're a legit Karen. And everyone knows I HATE those. Adios. Hit "Don't recommend channel." Simple.
@@TopBillinSports Don't worry, I won't recommend and I did hit "don't recommend channel", but it started recommending, again for some reason. Any comment I have ever left, you attacked me for. And none were negative comments. Like I said, I like your content. It's just you that's the jerk. Please call me all the Karens you like. I care what you think about me as much as you care what I think about you.
@Monica_aka_Kansas - Yet, you're here talking to me on my platform instead of just staying away.
The old "it was recommended" routine?! So, because something is recommended you're required to partake in it?
Then you start insulting my viewership because you're upset, and you don't think you're a Karen?
Yes, all Karens operate that way. I didn't tell you to come in here and make some wack ass joke. You chose to. You don't then get to choose the response.
Anyway, Karen, beat it. Announcing your departure like an airline is corny. I never knew you existed before this exchange and won't remember you in 15 seconds. I honestly forgot about this exchange again before I got the alert for the reply.
His football IQ under Pete has been low... I'm hoping Mike can do something another this and help me set the edge
How about those hundreds of plays he look like a high schooler put that on tape !!
And what exactly would that accomplish, Sir? Would that somehow make you feel better about yourself? I couldn't have been anymore clearer that he struggles in take-home situations in the run game, Sir. But, ok, I will go back in time and make my content to suit your needs, Sir.
@@TopBillinSports it'll make me feel more confident about the new coaching staff that's getting praise if they can improve his shortcomings..I love DT I want this brother to be the player he was projected to be when we drafted him .
@@61Wolves-yt4yk - You liking your own comment is goofy, Sir. And me showing him "looking like a high schooler" has zero bearing on what a new coaching staff can or can't do with him. You just want to have something to complain about. Relax, guy. It's not that deep.
@@TopBillinSports I'm always relaxing sir it ain't that serious bruh ..I'm going to resume my Seahawks film study ..peace !!

@@TopBillinSports it’s not personal, just private. Canadian side
I just read your comment history. Why are you here, man? As a man, any real man, would simply hit "Don't recommend this channel."
@@TopBillinSports why?
@@trustmeiknow1 - Stop playing around and be a man and simply stop watching my channel. You tried to be some smug, arrogant, cornball and bring up a channel sponsor in a negative light because you were embarrassed you tried to insert your knowledge of this sport from a video game.
