Malaysia doesn't like war. If we are able to achieve independence through diplomacy, we don't need to sacrifice soo much life to achieve it. After all, we learn through mistakes, from the invasion of Japan, Portugal, British. War is our last option. But I don't condemn countries that went through war period to gain independence...

The takeover of Guthrie made Malaysia the owner not just the Malaysian Guthrie farms but also took ownership of the other farming land owns by Guthrie in new zealand, Taiwan, India etc.And Malaysia sold those overseas properties. Tun Mahathir Muhammad also boycotted the commonwealth gathering in Britain during the same year as he proclaimed that the meeting only benefited the caucasians. And he announced buy British last policy and introduced look east policy (to take the examples of Japan/south Korea/Taiwan success). He was also the first Malaysian prime Minister who was actually practicing Islam..he doesnt smoke..doesn’t consume alcohol. Thanx TRT for the Malaysian independence day coverage.
