I have five different Heart "live" dvds...this song Lost Angel from Jupiter's Darling is so magical and Ann & Nancy execute such a great "live" version of the song here. Wow!....These two ladies are royalty of Rock and have my loyalty forever since their early beginnings.
I’m 62 a big Rock n Roll lover and somehow I heard this for the first time last night and Lost Angel hit me like a stick of Rock n’ Roll love ballet dynamite! 🧨💎🤟🏼✌🏽
This is a great song. I wish it had been released on an album other than Jupiters Darling which has kind of disappeared. It probably would have been a hit if it had been on Red Velvet Car. Truly one of their best. I remember Ann saying she almost couldn't do this show because she had a cold and could barely sing; You can tell on some of the high notes, but she still kills it.
It could have been in a previous album they were doing in 2002, before developing Jupiters Darling. Lost Angel and Down the Nile were two songs they had already written before they started writing for Jupiters Darling. It did get some attention more recently from being included in an episode of Supernatural, which was an welcome surprise.
@@Don-Jack Really? What happened with that album? I know they had songs on their live album they said were going to be on a new album but they never were. Were they working on an album that got shelved?
@@chrisacer6605 All I know is that Nancy started writing for Jupiters Darling with Craig Bartock in 2003, and Lost Angel and Down the Nile were the two songs Craig Bartock mentions Ann and Nancy already had previously. He also said Jupiters Darling originally had even more songs but they trimmed it down, so maybe a few of those songs were the other ones in Alive in Seattle (Two Faces of Eve, Sister Wild Rose, Break the Rock, Heaven). There's also "Skin to Skin" that was released in Strange Euphoria that sounds like it was from that era. This stuff I read on the book "Heart: In the Studio" from 2008, containing interviews with all the producers that worked with Heart. There's no mention of the album that was supposed to come out before Jupiters Darling though, but if they had Lost Angel before Jupiters Darling, then I think it was going to be in it. Another bit of fun info: Craig Bartock mentions they were thinking of doing an album inspired by Pink Floyd to follow up Jupiters Darling, but then Ben Mink came along and that was scrapped I guess.
I agree this song is so magical, it would right in on one of the early albums. But this album in general is very underrated it's in ways a "return to form" to what the girls really love to write.
This is a really good song, but I find eventhough Ann had good energy, and lost quite a bit of weight due to the lap band procedure, her voice was too raunchy;even cracked.Still love Heart !

Supernatural brought me here
Please leave.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong. But I think "Lost Angel," is the only song written entirely by Nancy, that is sung by Ann.
Could easily be on Dreamboat Annie

Then God created Ann Wilson !
And Nancy too
That dude that flips his hair like Nancy is doing way too much!!
