Actually, that's a pretty nice printer. It's definitely worth around $50-60 or so. I'd see if it works, and sell it somewhere (i'd do eBay or something like that).
Hey, be gentle with it! ... I really like glossy black plastic like that, but it's really easy to stain! And then you try to clean it with liquid but some residue stays... And then it gets scratched.... .... So yeah, really nice design, it looks like it's from 2013....
Gentle? Ha! I'm never gentle with trash picked stuff. If it's built well, I should be able to move it around like I did in the video with no problem. I should have taken care of this, but I actually let it rot and eventually put it back on the street.
Hello... Just letting you know that in 2 days a nice IBM Proprinter II will be taken to a recycling center by its owner and thus will die... It was free but of course nobody took it because it's a dot matrix printer.... The main problem with dot matrix printers today is that they must be plugged in the parallel port of a computer, and I'm pretty sure 98% of the computers built today don't have parallel ports... So you must find a USB to parallel gizmo and try to make it work with your computer and with the printer... It's a lot of trouble... You could install a Parallel card in your computer and then it would probably work fine but... It's a dot matrix printer. They don't have, or have extremely limited color capabilities, and they can only print characters... They're noisy... So yeah they're like the most unappealing thing ever to a modern computer user.... They're fantastic for old computers running DOS... But who uses DOS today? Oh well, it's a shame... I would've gotten it if it wasn't so far away from my home... My dad was like "sure we could go pick it up".. My dad is way took kind. I'm tired of wasting his time.. It's only a printer after all... Here's what it looks like: www.100megspopup.com/redawa/Graphics/IBMProPII.jpg It looks pretty recent, but because of the silver IBM badge it's probably pretty old... Maybe it was built a bit after the IBM AT, so 1985-86....?

So you never tested it?
VideoTape I couldn't. I didn't have a compatible power cord.
