My husband was sick over New Years and went to bed early. I stayed up with my little dachshund doggy. I ended up being sick as well. I’m doing much better but still have a little way to go. I had to stop the vlog so I could read everything that was in your box! I’m sure the boys loved having it. How kind and thoughtful of your husband to grab extra things so you wouldn’t have to work so hard. I don’t really do resolutions but there are things that I always tried to do with my kids and on my own. 1. Treat everyone as you want to be treated. 2. Help others whenever we can. 3. Love all. In the southern US we have a tradition of eating peas and greens for New Years. Peas represent pennies and greens represent dollars, so our new year will be prosperous. Now when I say peas, I do not mean green peas, but a field pea or a cow pea. We prefer a verity called pink eye purple hull peas. Some people like black eyed peas, and many just eat pinto beans. I love this tradition, because I love everything about a purple hull pea. 😂 Happy New Year to you and your wonderful family. 💕

it really is interesting how different cultures welcome the new year 😁 some of the ways we celebrate is by having 12 round fruits on the table - round shape signifies prosperity and each fruit represents every month of the year 😁 we also make a lot of noise like banging pots and pans, lighting fireworks or blowing party horns to shoo away bad/evil spirits. some even fill their pockets with coins or place them on top of drawers or cabinets inside the home to attract wealth 😆 all in all, i wish everyone a happy new year! may all be safe, healthy and successful this 2023 ☺️

It was cold and raining to go out so we chose warmth had Port wine which was lovely. I haven't been to the sales yet but Gary (husband) bought me a lovely jacket so that was nice. We have to go shopping tomorrow so I will have to get up very early. The whether has been a little warmer so that has been a blessing, but the forecast has said it will rain all week. Nevermind at least it is a little warmer. My New Year Resolutions are varied , I want to increase my walking distance, lose some weight, pray for everyone and be healthy. ( wish me luck because I need too). Lol. I am also going to go out and seek new places. I have watched you other channel and I think I have now caught up on all your video's. Then wanted to start dieeting so I do intermitted fasting going very well lost 10kg so far so doing good. I agree with you small steps not run.

The grocery store sounded so hectic this time! 😅 It reminded me of Thanksgiving here in the USA. The grocery stores are very crowded that week and you fill your shopping cart up with food! Happy New Year 🎉
Happy new year! We went to the department store for our new year feast box as I like to call it. But this one you can pick what you want in it. I didn’t dare ask the price but it was still yummy. I went a bit mad lucky bag shopping as my wardrobe needed a new update. Plus the kids to. We even got mister doughnut!

Your new sweater is very nice but I also liked the other color. If I am in dilemma, I usually just buy both!!! I also spent New Year's Day with my family. We have a wonderful meal all together in my parents' house and then we had "vasilopita" which is a round sweet cake with a hidden coin. The tradition says that the person who wins the coin in their piece, will have luck and prosperity the new year. That's my country's new year's tradition!
Again Happy New Year!!! My husband is the same; alsways comes back withthings that were not on his shopping list, usually snacks hahaha, but it looks delicious what he bought extra. Serving yakitori with the soba is a great idea, I'll do that next new year's eve. I always serve my soba cold with a dipping sauce, but my family wants it in broth. The osechi he ordered looks also delicous. I make it usually at home, at least some dishes, but it is so much work. Do your boys eat the osechi? I hear a lot of children don't really like the taste of most dishes. One day I'll be in Japan for the new year and I want to buy some lucky bags if I can manage to find them and for some sale shopping :) And a quiet New Year's Eve sounds great, not fire works all day and night as it is here. I don't have a resolution for the new year really, just trying to deal with things as they come along this year.

Try to avoid July and August as Summer and typhoon season. March or April might be good as Sakura blossom season. November is good timing to see yellow leaves and red leaves.
I would say spring or autumn, which is around March, April or October, November!
