  • Looking to maximize the performance of your Roma Trout swimbait? In this detailed tutorial, we’ll guide you step-by-step through our Modified Butch Brown Rig process to ensure your bait is perfectly rigged and ready for trophy bass fishing. This method provides a secure setup and enhances fishability when a weedless application is not needed with a high hookup ratio.
    Modified BB-Rig Harness Instructions:
    1️⃣ Prepare the Harness:
Take an XL Screw Lock Spring and thread on a solid or split ring (small and strong split rings work best).
    2️⃣ Tie the Leader:
Use 30lb P-Line PF/CXX to create a short leader. Tie one end to the split ring and the other end to your treble hook, keeping the knot as close to the hook as possible. We recommend using VMC or Gamakatsu treble hooks with a flat side that lays flush against the bait, with the two prongs sticking upward.
    3️⃣ Attach to the Swimbait:
Screw the XL Screw Lock Spring into the nose of the Roma Trout swimbait, centering it properly. Make sure the split ring is oriented straight up and down, with the knot facing toward the back of the bait. Place the treble hook on the bait’s back.
    4️⃣ Tie the Main Line:
Tie your main line toward the middle of the split ring. The split ring will now have two knots: one in the middle for the main line and one toward the back connected to the hook.
    5️⃣ Add Weight:
Insert a 3/16 oz, 1/4 oz Neko or drop shot weight, or 3/20 oz nail weight into the hook slot towards the nose of the bait for balance, stability and designed depth control of fishing and bottom bouncing your bait.
    6️⃣ Stabilize with Fin Weights:
Insert nail weights into each of the fins using our 3/20 oz swimbait nail weights or 3/32 oz tungsten nail weights. This improves weight distribution and overall stability in the water.
    Shop Rigging Kits & Accessories:

Will we ever see a floating trout like the WCZ Tyrant 8 and 10?

We’re always looking to innovate and expand what the Roma Trout can do. A floating version is definitely in the works, and it is possible. We’re actively testing ways to achieve this, such as incorporating flotation type materials inside the hook slot. One of the great things about the Roma Trout is its versatility-it can be modified in so many ways to suit your fishing style. Stay tuned for updates on our social media, and thanks for your interest!

@ I recently placed 2 orders on your website and got 4 other trout colors from Tackle Warehouse, so I can’t wait to get all of mine in and start tinkering with them! I’m excited to see how far you’ll push the envelope with innovating your trout baits and keeping my eyes peeled on every new announcement!

@ I’m looking forward to throwing them once the water by me thaws out. I know these are going to be insanely good for Pike and Muskie as well as Largemouth! Now if only they can come in a Perch colorway👀
