- In this epic day of steelhead fishing we were dealing with super low water conditions! We hadn't got any rain in weeks, so the steelhead were starting to stack in the lower sections of rivers. Today we're with a big group of buddies including, Cameron Black, Nick Popov, Marlin LeFever, Big Dave, and Jordan Knigge. We don't use those things here in the northwest. Hahaha everybody uses spinning and casting here. And yea they have the best steelhead videos.

Love your guys videos! I’ve been fishing steelhead my whole life in Idaho. I’m a die hard drift fisherman. I’ve never liked bobber fishing, but that’s just how I was raised. I’d love to fish with marlin, and Jordan someday!

just getting into steelhead and wanted to ask how thin my line should be? ive found plenty of info on what pound plenty of people use but 8lb of one brand could be the same thickness of 12lb of another brand.
Well everyone has there preference in terms of brand and looks. I work with what I have. Pline has good stuff. But the general idea is that you want thinner or lighter, however that works for ya when the water is clearer. The darker water or the higher the presentation the thicker you can go. I can run 14 lb for most times. And vary depending on conditions.

I have to stop watching these steelhead videos because after 2 months of trying I still can't get a bite. Don't have any fishing buddies so I've got no choice but to go solo and I feel like I'm doing it wrong. Green eyed monster is real! :(
Don't give up. I've been steelhead fishing my whole life and I just caught my first one yesterday since Christmas. I fish 2 or 3 days a week and just had a major dry spell. So don't give up, even us seasoned steelheaders can go months without a fish.
Try a more target rich environment number one rule of catching fish... there must be fish to catch!
Fish the Midwest - same thing finally caught my first when I turned 40. Keep at it!
