Thank you for this nutritious set of recipes! I will be trying them out soon. Please continue to create more Blue Zone diet friendly recipes
Yes! What she said! 👆More blue zone recipes pretty, pretty please with sugar free seasonings on top! Thank you, I need to eat healthier and it's so much easier if I have prepped food!
so glad you enjoyed!
Minestrone: start beans in a pot to cook and use the bean water to start your soup. The bean water gives a thickness and richness to the soup. We use borlotti beans (cranberry beans).
I made the minestrone soup and it came out delicious! Everyone loved it in the house and no one is vegan!
Thank you so much
These recipes are great and look delicious. Love the colors. This is a great series. Beans and tofu are the best protein
I never knew about the Blue Zone diet . The funny thing is my great grandmother was from Palermo Sicily , granted not necessarily a blue zone , but she passed away at 102 years old which is crazy to me but she was very healthy.
green bell peppers are picked before yellow ones and yellow bell peppers are picked before red ones. they're all the same plant though!
That used to be the case wayyyyy back when. Nowadays they are different kinds and bread like this.
Thanks so much for these recipes!! Good protein ones!
Loved this video! ❤
Yummm i’m soo making these!!
Enjoying the blue zone focused recipes!!
Great video. I love the Blue Zone recipe concept. Thank you for sharing 💐❤️
Actually pearl barley has had the bran removed, hulled barley is the whole grain. I learned the difference from Dr Greger. Unfortunately it is harder to find hulled barley at stores, but I get it from bulk bins at my natural grocer.
I’m pretty sure Hulled Barley is whole grain, I found it at Bulk Barn
after looking up the difference between pearl and pot barley I realized that the 'whole grain' simply means without the husk outside (which I think is not edible). The difference between pearl and pot barley is how long it is tumbled for. Pot barley typically has more fiber and protein as a lot of that is lost during the pearling process.
I love your meal prep videos 💕
Good recipes!
I love your videos! The recipes are delicious and you are very upbeat 😋
Love both these recipes , thank you so much for this meal prep video!!
I’m making minestrone today! Thanks for the great recipe
Love the focus on blue zone recipes. Can't wait to make these!!
I haven't had pasta salad in ages! Thank you for the idea. Love the Blue Zone recipes.
This is exactly what I've been looking for! ❤More blue zone recipes, please😊
Love the "fried barley" recipe. I will definitely try this!
Love these videos ❤
I love barley , and these recipes look so very delicious 😋
Thank you Rose 💓
@CheapLazyVegan Omg! Everything looks so good! My favorite is the pasta salad
These are so great! You motivated me to buy your newest Ebook. Thanks for all you do, Rose! I've followed you forever, and you are still such a useful resource! 🙂🌿
Omg Rose, I've made the feta pasta salad several times. I love it ❤️
Rose, thank you so much for covering Blue Zone diet vegan recipes! I will try them out this weekend for my weekly batch cooking. I love adding dill to Mediterranean style salads as well, very tasty!
hope you like!! dill is the best~ thanks for watching : )
@@CheapLazyVegan I made it with dill over the weekend, absolutely delicious!! Thanks again! ☺
Wow this is great! Would love for you to make more videos on easy blue zone recipes!
Please do more of these! 😍
This video...one of your BEST!!!!!!!
It would be cool if you did a video showing your thrive market haul😊 Your recipes look delicious! Thanks for sharing.
Omg thank you for these meal prep videos! I did your last weeks meal prep salad and it’s amazing! I’m falling in love with veggies all over again 🤗 I really appreciate all the hacks too. ❤
Cool - love that you include the calorie and protein counts!
All the food looks good, but I gravitate to the salad. Looks so yummy. Thanks.
I think green peppers take shorter time to grow, also a bit tougher, so easier to store and transport.
Yes. They start as green and mature as red capsicum when they're grown for longer.
I made a "fried rice" but substituted quinoa 😋💜
That soup looked so good ❤
Love your recipes. I just started the vegan journey and I used the Banza Pasta this week for the first time (awesome) I cant wait to try your recipes.
Green peppers aren’t yet ripe, so are less expensive to produce.
I think this is my fave vid ever you've done. None of these recipes are hard or expensive. This is true meal prep in my book. Blue zone inspired, high plant-baed protein, and "regular" food---no hard to find or expensive ingredients. Thank you!!! ps Love Thrive Market! All of their boxes come in environmentally-friendly packing--no plastic packing like what comes in amazon or target boxes.
I always enjoy when you randomly start speaking with an accent ❤😂
I started buying organic whole wheat pasta because it is so much cheaper than high protein pastas and then add extrabeans, peas or chick peas and less pasta if trying to reach a protein number.
You may have to try a few whole wheat pastas to find the freshest brand. I went with the fresher Michigan based Meijer's Organic Whole Wheat instead of Italion Made Barilla. Meijer is a large grocery chain here, so look around and try a few brands as whole wheat does not keep as well as regular pasta.
Amazing 😍😍👍👍
Enjoy it thank you
i love your channel.
Cool video. ❤
I would love to see a video where you show you dice and cut up veggies by hand. I want to improve my knife skills!
Tea tree oil smells good with rosemary and lavender.
Another awesome meal prep video from the beautiful Rose full of 😋 vegan food inspired by the Blue Zone diet. I am planning to do a what I ate in a day video based on what Rose eats in February and I am looking forward to making the video (it was requested by my viewers/subscribers). Love 🥰 the video and love 💕 Rose.
How do you like the hex clad wok? I have a skillet that I love. I want the wok next.
I like chickpea pasta, but for my family to like it , I mix half chickpea, & half whole wheat, as long as they are both the same shape, the color doesn’t matter, so then they’ll help me eat it . Often times I’ll make a big delicious meal , & end up eating it every evening for a week, so I have to try be more creative since I’m the only vegan. It’s hit or miss , & unfortunately they add a little bit of animal products to my dishes unless they’re in a hurry.
I love your commentary 😅😅
These look great, I definitely will be trying one of these but buying some liquid aminos to keep the salt down.. I also just learned of SUMAC, a natural seasoning that gives the salt flavor but without the salt. 💜💜
PS
Organic Tofu!!
Be careful not all Tofu is created equal....and can really be hazardous on your reproductive system and more. 🙏🏾💜
I saute in water, starting with a tablespoon or two and adding more water as needed. Not sure how that would work on tofu, but most veggies are easy this way.
At the end of cooking the tofu stir fry, a little black salt gives an eggy flavour.
I've never had pearl barley. I am going to try that this week when cooking these meals. Thank u for pre-chopping the veggies. Its so annoying to watch cooks chop veggies 🙄 Also I just got an insta pot as a gift. I would love some insta pot recipes from u in the future 😋 luv ur channel girl 😊
3:40 All bell peppers are green then turn red or yellow or orange, etc when they ripen. So I'm guessing because they take longer to ripen, costing farmers more time, they cost more. I know in my garden, they stay green a looong time before they start turning red/yellow/orange. That's why they get sweeter too, the longer they ripen, so your ripest will be the sweetest, if you didn't know. I usually just use them green because it takes them so long to ripen lol.
Yeah no. In your garden, yes. But the ones you can buy nowadays are bread to be this or that colour. The green and yellow can never go red.
Yummy
You changed your style!
@cheaplazyvegan thank you for the hacks! Youre gifted at what you do!
Just a very small request though please, but if you’re cooking for others, please please please could you use a different utensil to taste test the recipes, & not the same utensil that you’re cooking with, or using to ladle into separate containers afterwards.
So sorry, just very particular when cooking for others & that’s one thing that’s high on my hygiene list.
Thank you so much for your creativity! You’re an inspiration and deserve to do well! ❤
I thought you were in Canada? How were you able to get thrive market?
That’s exactly what I was wondering
As a content creator she’s able to do this b/c she has a lot of American viewers. Hopefully thrive opens it up to other Canadians in the future.
Hi! Does thrive market deliver to Canada. i live in Canada
Barley minestrone must be bomb❤
Rose, these are Amazing recipes. #veganforanimals
beautiful, fellow vegoon
Thanks for the cooking hacks. Before going vegan I thought I was a decent cook. I quickly learned this was not the case lol. Been almost 3 years I am still learning how to cook better.
Does higher protein help more with weightloss?
where did you get the containers for the soup?
Thrive market doesn’t ship to Canada. Are you living in the States now?
Pearl barley is actually not a whole grain. The pearl refers to polishing off the hull. But I don’t know that I’ve ever seen whole grain barley.
Hulled barley (sometimes called pot or potted barley) is considered whole grain since only the inedible hull is removed. Pearl barley has had the *bran* removed and, as you said, is not considered a whole grain.
Can you make the dressing for the pasta salad dressing oil free ? If so, What would you use ?
Maybe some tahini or a 100% nut butter
"Let the flavours make love." 😂 Is that an Australian accent I detect? A bit of Britsh or NZ accent? Cheers from Australia. Thanks for these recipes!
The pasta salad is delicious looking, but since I am allergic to olives I would have to leave them out.
I love the fit
I'm cracking up because Rose said about the minestrone: "what an amazing breakfast". As Spaniard, I'd never eat soup or legumes to start the day, for us is a lunch/dinner perfect kind of meal.
Awe as a Canadian I can’t get the deal 😢
😋
❤
A green bell pepper is actually just an "unripe" bell pepper.. it is picked when green instead of waiting for it to ripen. I hate them.
I'm gonna just make beens for protein, just mash beens, always work, and its not so hard
😊😊😊
Might want to keep in mind calling Okinawa an island in Japan could offend some people.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
a little bit of salt XD girl that was too much
jokes on you i want to die young cuz i wont be able to afford retirement
1st
Rose! This soup is so good! I came down with a cold and all I wanted was soup. This is exactly what I needed.
Red peppers are just fully mature green peppers, they take longer to turn red & can’t be cut from the plant until they’re red, hence the drastic price increase. They’re super easy to grow though.
I started buying organic whole wheat pasta because it is so much cheaper than high protein pastas and then add extrabeans, peas or chick peas and less pasta if trying to reach a protein number.
