Thanks Karis, I appreciate your positive comment. I just love this song. I’m thrilled you like my version and I hope to hear from you again in the future! Cheers!
When I was 10 yo my Pop played this song with his band.I was so moved by the song,I decided I wanted to learn it.Thats how my guitar journey began.I never get tired of playing it ..Rip Pop Brilliant cover Troy!Great voice. You made Paul Young and Paul Carrack proud..🙏🎶🎸
Wow! That is really outstanding! I’ve always loved that song. I lost my Dad a few months ago, and now this song really speaks to my heart personally! You did such an excellent job with just a guitar and a Beat Buddy. I would not have thought that possible with just two instruments, but you have fully captured the spirit of the song! I’ll be learning this song in memory of my Dad. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. I’d been considering getting a Beat Buddy. You have convinced me. I subscribed…Thank you so much! 😎👍🎸
Thank you so much for your fantastic comments. I’m thrilled you like my version and thank you for subscribing. This is one of my favourites from Mike & The Mechanics.
Hey @daviemcf thanks for your positive comment. The small screen your referring to is simply an Ipad. I use it for lyrical reference. It’s up high because the vision isn’t as good as it use to be! If your interested, I did a video a couple of years ago reviewing my gear. At about minute 5 I talk a little bit about the iPad. Just click on the link below and it will take you to the video. Thanks again my friend! th-cam.com/video/edz9c32rkbA/w-d-xo.html
@@myacousticlounge Thanks for the quick reply Troy....I quickly went through your videos and liked quite a few so will get back to look at them very soon in more detail. I have subbed so thanks again my friend and all the best!! 👍👍🙏 Davie from Glasgow,Scotland.
Hey Troy I believe I was missing some echo in my vocals. I believe you use that effect, maybe on and off. When you want your harmony to kick in what is your bread and butter harmony. Do you have a couple different ones you use? Is it just your voice and a high or higher 2nd voice or harmony? I sold my TC Helicon Play Acoustic to the TC Helicon Performance VG. Thank you again, my friend.
The Harmony comes exclusively through my TC Helicon Harmony GXT foot pedal. I only engage it when I want harmony. Because my natural singing voice is low, I set the Harmony voice to “high”. I use a setting called “combi” for the continuous singing. this seems to be a nice combination of “Hall, Room and echo”. Every sound adjustment is set at 50% or the half way mark. Now, with that said, my Harmony GXT is not the only voice aid I’m using. I go out of the GXT to my Bose ToneMatch mixer which has its own settings that help the final mix sound. Unless you have the same gear. It would be very hard to simulate the same type of singing sound your hearing in my videos. Hope this helps!
Hi Allan, I use a TC Helicon Harmony GXT. But I also put everything through my Bose Tone Match mixer. Here’s a link below to a video I did a while back where I walked through the gear I use. Just checked out your page. Awesome job my friend! th-cam.com/video/edz9c32rkbA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=rrDYYJMurecti5sq
Hello mate you haven’t put anything out there for a while. How about doing an acoustic lounge version of ‘let en in’ by Wings …? Come on I know you can get it down ….!😅😅😅
Thanks for your comment Trading NASDAQ. You’ll find many of my tutorials are not exactly the same as the original. My Beatbuddy doesn’t always have the exact back beat. When your a soloist, you need to change it up a little to suit your individual needs. I’ve always loved this song and I wanted to pay homage to it. I hope you were able to get something useful from my version. Thanks again.
Excellent instructionn and performance

Hey Mr. Jefferies, I love that song! what a great choice. I’m adding it to the acoustic lounge list.
Ahhh…. So many great songs, so little time.
I don’t remember the song at this type of beat?
