Recently, I had the opportunity to transport a massive, oversized load in Italy. It was a mega-transport, and the cargo was so large that it required special permits and escorts to ensure safe passage on the road. The starting point was at the Port of Palermo, where my team and I carefully loaded the cargo onto our Scania R truck.
As we set off on our journey, we quickly realized that this was no ordinary job. The streets in Italy were narrow and winding, and maneuvering such a massive load through them required great skill and precision. Despite the obstacles, my team and I remained focused and determined to complete the job successfully.
Our Scania R truck was the perfect vehicle for this task. It was a true beast on the road, with incredible power and agility. Its massive size and unstoppable force allowed us to make progress even in the toughest of situations. I was proud to be behind the wheel of such a magnificent machine.
Navigating our way through the tight streets was a challenge, but it was also incredibly fun. I felt a sense of excitement and exhilaration as we made our way to our destination. The Logitech G29 steering wheel and shifter that I used to control the truck added to the immersive experience, making it feel like I was actually on the road.
Finally, after a long and challenging journey, we reached our destination. The cargo was safely delivered, and I felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. Completing a mega-transport in Italy was an unforgettable experience that I will always cherish. The Scania R truck and the Logitech G29 steering wheel and shifter helped me to do my job with precision and power, making it a truly amazing adventure.

18:32 For oversize loads of this length, the invisible barriers need to be either removed, or seriously reduced. The best path for something of this length would have been directly ahead, over the right side of the island between the trees. This is a common concept for such oversize loads, as is (if necessary) having the oversize load drive on the wrong side of the road, if that option is easier. Also, kudos on the 'Michelin Man'... I haven't seen or heard anything of that for a long time now.

My pops was a lorry driver and when I was younger he gave me a lorry Michelin man, thinking about it I should have got him to wire it up for light in my bedroom! Either way I adored it.

Ok, it’s a game, but in real life it’s immposible do this type of job due day light. In several moment you have put your tractor in lock position (90 degres with your trailor) there is no possible way to stop, and move again. Expetialy in reverse. Why all four warning lights if you have beacon lighte turn on? No bad feelings, it’s just a game. In real life it’s not that easy and simple ;) p.s sorry for bad englis, im from croatia

Damn nice trailer!! I wish rear dolly would be self centering, but then wheel steering of wheels would not work properly. SCS should really update the steering system to support self the centering trailers. Also then add manual control over trailer steering up to 30km/h so you can control the rear end especially when reversing.
The manual control would be very helpful, will see if maybe they will add that. And yea this trailer was very hard for driving especially through that tiny road :D
@@TheCodeGaming I think self centering trailers shouldn't be too hard to add. The mechanical solutions are quite elegant with hydraulics and also possible with systems of connecting rods. So programmers should nail that with ease. And looking forward to a day when SCS partners with a heavy haul manufacturers to bring in heavy licensed trailers.

Oh God, can you imagine hauling this in the UK? The UK needs some love, desperately. I live near Sheffield and can tell you now, the roads and motorways look NOTHING like the game (and speed limits don't constantly change without warning). I'm brand new to this franchise, I LOVE hauling heavy loads, but good Lord, the ridiculously cramped UK roads with aggressive traffic and worthless blocker vans is probably harder than doing it in real life!
This is true for The Netherlands as well. The road design for highways and going into cities is nothing like in my country and is why I have switched off speed fines, because I continued to try and go off on road design and sign placement to indicate a behavior change and completely get caught out by surprise because a speed restriction from highway speed down to 50 would just be thrown at me.
And then there's entries to highways, which in my country are never ever using yield signs, just like there's way to many intersections using STOP-signs...
As much as they got some things right in other countries, they literally missed the mark on The Netherlands (which might be a scale-thing honestly, but still).

The thing that always amazed me was the difference between North American intersection rules and European / UK. For us, the ministries of transport seem to have a primary mandate of "control what is legal any time two traffic flows meet", while across the pond it seems to be about continuous flow, with the rule of thumb being "use the least restrictive control mechanism possible."

The detail on the truck regarding the tank is too brutal. I enjoy watching real oversized loads and like this on the game. And off course it gives the full gear it self. There is still a lot of work to be done on this game...

I like heavy loads, but IMHO Palermo roundabout passing on grass would be show stopper for front trailer trolley and maybe even for your truck. Drive on edges of hard surface and let steerable trolleys do their job.

And at 28:30, when you took that turn, if you had taken that turn wide your truck was not going to have problems like you did!! You were taking turns too narrow!! And on the next turn you did the exact same thing and faced problems while turning!! 😊😊😊

I hope you noticed that the back wheels of the trailer are stering left and right. :D I did like that the turn because if i take it wide that back of the trailer will stuck a lot in the fance because the back wheels stairs in the same side like the truck :D

Something like this IRL would definitely have to have Police Escort
In Europe, most of these transports are typically only escorted by police to keep possible members of the general public out of the way, and in some cases, blocking of highway entries. It's actually not uncommon to not have police escorts with these types of transports in situations where the only thing needed would be the convoi-exceptionnel vans in front and back.

From the couple of big transports like this I've seen he has video camera screens of the left and right side so he can keep control of both sides that way. And in some cases that person would be controlling the countersteering axles, and the person at the deck on the back would be in control of checking hydraulic pressure and braking if necessary. They are pretty interesting machines honestly, I never fail to be amazed that we can built stuff like that as humans ;).

Abbiegen mit Schwertransport muss der Videomacher auch noch kräftig üben! Man holt im weiten Bogen aus und setzt nicht 3-4 mal zurück 😵💫😵💫
