I was stationed at elmendorf as an Air Force nurse in 1976-1978. Boy has Anchorage changed. We didn’t have a mall then and Eagle River had just a few homes. Loved the skit your sons did. So funny.

The oil and vinegar store is always a favorite for my husband and I. I buy a smoked olive oil and put my roasted garlic in it in the fridge for a few days and then spread the garlic and oil as a base for my pizzas, sooo good. The oil and vinegars are also good for get together s for ppl to dip breads into. I love giving ppl a few choices and watch as they are surprised and excited by them.

Thank you ! There used to be one of those Oil and Vinegar stores at 5th Ave Mall but it closed down, now when we come down in April I’ll bring our bottles with us to get them refilled. The Mango vinegar is so good on a pork tenderloin. And love that salad from Chili’s, it’s my favorite !

Thank you so much for all the Eagle River footage. So much has changed since I lived in Mt View and Eagle River in 1970's. The drive into Anchorage used to be so hazardous coming across the river, hair-raising for sure.
Today we had about 4 inches of snow in Cheltenham UK, we were totally unprepared, no roads had been gritted and our local council never clear the roads so it was a skating rink out there. Our town is in a basin with hills on 3 sides so we very rarely get any snow. I love to see it but hate having to drive in it. If we had it every year we'd be more prepared with dealing with it lol, instead tomorrow will probably be chaos. It was great seeing the boys having fun and getting involved with church activities. The Mall was dead, such a contrast to Malls in Australia at this time of year they are jam packed without a parking space insight. Loved the drive into Anchorage and you narrating it that was excellent. Tha boys skit at the end 🤣
The closer it gets to Christmas, it will be more full. It was 11:30 AM on a weekday. The other main mall in Anchorage, (5th Avenue) is 5 stories high, with 2 parking garages. It's the bigger of the two.

I have two boys who are 7 and 13 so I understand about just getting into the teen years and how him and his younger brother have been trying to get along, but it is tough for now. When they are older probably both of them will get along better, we shall see. My family are also a hunting family, my dad would get a bull elk with a bow every year for our meat and we all fished and camped too so we have quite a bit in common. Nice video. I drive from Wasilla to the ER Ak Club 3x a week - including last week's hurricane-force winds that closed part of the Glenn. If you do show some of ER, please include something with how many gyms are available there...so many for such a little place :) Some spring vid would be lovely once it greens up ...maybe a little walk thru part of the trail out at the Nature Center or TBird Falls if you've not done that yet?

Fifth Avenue Mall has gone downhill since Nordstrom closed. I was pleasantly surprised by our recent visit to the Dimond Mall though. Bigger than I realized. We live near Hatcher Pass.
Geez, we had two Baskin Robbins near us here in Florida but they closed a few months ago. I saw a sports store with some NFL jerseys in the window but you never mentioned it. That’s a store I can’t get out of. Former New Yorker and I don’t miss the snow and removing it. As I type this, it’s 67 degrees here in Sebastian FL. Till next time.
Just started watching your videos. Saw the Costco, Hawaii, Alasja Cruise, and Cabin shows. Great narratives and presentation for the viewers. Loved the cabin and the planned tasks for everyone. I am a rockhound and shell collector. I'm getting into painting rocks and walking sticks. I miss many things about the US. Been living in the Philippines the last 3 1/2 yrs. Love the weather and the beaches here, but many food items are hard to come by, ie good Mexican food. Cuts of meat are different too. Anyways, nice channel you have, I'll keep watching and safe travelling to all of you. 👍
In our local Miss Arctic Circle pageant, a lot of girls talk about hunting and fishing. They’ll have pictures, with samples of dried meat, fish, berries, jam, seal oil, moose roast. Maybe he could bring some prepared harvested foods to share with the judges.
