I remember this case… there’s a movie made years ago I enjoyed called “A House Divided”.. check it out. It’s kind of hard to find. But it’s based on her life. Thank you for more insight into her story
Afternoon, This was made into a movie. It's called: A House Divided, staring Jennifer Beals. It's a great movie, you will enjoy it. Halleluyah! Dr. O. 💖
@Author They did, & some of our people today don't care anything about what they went through because it wasn't Them who experienced it! I could NEVER be so Heartless
You have been counted among your trible approved don't ever let them tell you who you are and who you are not.Understand a lot arranged marriage where made to strength the tribes!
@blackhistory767 well, I guess that's the difference between the old way of seeing things according to the one drop rule, and the new way of seeing things in 2025. Those of us who subscribe to the new way see her life as mixed, because we believe that black life cannot possibly be created by people that are non-black. A life that was Black in the 1800s could not in a million years have inherited millions of dollars, thousands of acres of land, and mansions in the south or anywhere from their rich Whyte daddy and lived to take advantage of it. So clearly this was the life of a mixed person, not a black person. Racism is not exclusive to Black people. All kinds of people face racism or some kind of discrimination. It doesn't make someone black simply because somebody chooses to see them or treat them a certain way. People are what they are. And that's the new way of seeing things in 2025. Happy New Year. 🥳

17000 acres what happened to that
Million dollar question that I think we may all know the answer to, to a certain degree
I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE 77, 000 ACRES OF LAND AFTER SHE DIED????
Son needed that dowry money
Interesting that the title says she was Mixed Race but the narrator keeps saying she was "black." It's almost 2025. The title is correct.
Though her blood was mixed, her life was Black. They let her know it time and tine again. It’s 2025, it’s the Black realty.
@@blackhistory767 no such thing stop putting mixed race with dark people it's insulting

At that time one drop rule is probably why.
Almost all of us are mixed to a degree
I have the book about her life - very interesting.
