They are conversing and enjoying each other's company. I miss those days. In 1987 I was in Bossier City, Louisiana. I believe I was working for Albertsons. I like to visit Nelson's videos and enjoy the sounds of people talking. A much simpler time when folks actually read a hard copy newspaper. Thanks for these videos.
Someone forgot the cake haha. I get to visit 5 Ninth Avenue when I travel to New York from the UK in August! I'm so excited! I've been watching these videos for years and it will be surreal getting to see and visit the area and place where Nelson lived!
Harry Monk ok Harry, what's really going on? I see you post on other videos on this channel, stating you "dont have anything against Nelson. He seemed like a decent guy." Only that you had thought he hung around the wrong people. Like you posted on the Christmas party, (at the obvious douche, Alig), party. Now you're here disparaging Nelson himself. Why the change in your view of Nelson. I think your first analysis on him in the Christmas comment section was pretty spot on. He was a good man, that hung out with the wrong crowd.
Watching these videos kind of makes me sad that I did not record all of my fun experiences going out in my teens/early 20s.. I know I was just living in the moment but how nice it would be to have memories like this to watch back on.
If you are maybe under 35-40 years these videos are probably amusing+. For those of us who lived these times it can be overwhelmingly sad reliving these times.
I'm sorry but I have to disagree.....although in the mid 80's I was in Kansas City, these videos remind me so much of that time when I was almost too old to be young but too young to be old (in 87 I was 33) and we all ran in packs.....it really makes me believe even more than ever that being gay was almost universal in the way we valued our friendships and it seems like we did even more at the dawn of the AIDS crisis...we knew something was trying to get us but didn't know exactly what it was and just held each other tighter.
Nelson had a wonderful group of friends and family what an amazing life and his pets too 😊❤and when all out together in the city they did appear to be safe for the most part Nice to see people just living and being safe ❤❤❤❤gosh I miss those times before screens
Oh my gosh Ru is here too. And this video only has 18k views…..A young Rupaul on Thanksgiving. I’m dying to know if she remembers this Thanksgiving dinner with Nelson ❤️
Restore these videos... I find them absolutely amazing. I wish I knew all of them. I would of fit right in. Except everyone would of wanted to sleep with me.
It's amazing to me how much the meat packing district had changed!! How much NY has changed. It's lost its edge that it once had... at least I think. When I used to go to NY around this time period there was just something to the city that's gone today. To homogenized!
Well for one it's clean and newer buildings and it's got a whole lot of rich people now not just Trump Tower cause Ru could see the Trump Tower from his apartment there is a video of Th at his apartment point out at Trumps building but now New York is full of Rich people and rich buildings that cost a lot to live in now !
This video is soul redeeming and refreshing. You can see the steak house on 14th Street across from where the Apple Store is now. Mentioning Apple is a buzz kill though. You see where the problem is today? Things like Apple. You can see Prince lumber, where it was until recently where everything that was kind of too big of a lot got taken like The McDonalds on 10th Ave and that really good diner like around 43rd and 10th, and some other things like that. You can also see the Manhattan Mini storage that is still there. I think you can see the one by Chelsea Piers. We, as a people, have been so negatively affected by computers and all that garbage like cell phones and reality tv and identity politics. The Rupaul of 1987 was completely different to the one of 2018.
What people don't realize is that there is not such thing as sex on the other side. I think we all are gay, yes even my own mother I told her this and my theory is that whatever we are attracted to on the other side is also attracted here. I mean who makes up the rules anyway of attraction and the raw nature of human beings.
Yeah they rolled it on its side coming Up from Georgia. Larry t Rupaul and Lahoma. Its surprising no one got hurt. In one video they arrived to the house and talked about it
They were definitely not into to music back then. I lived for music. I still do to this day. But we have Spotify and Sirius/XM radio these days. But, I used to throw the best parties in Detroit in the 80’s and 90’s. But, not to brag but I was the hottest guy in all of metro Detroit. The good old days.
I know Nelson is gone, but his videos have a special place in my heart ❤️
I agree. They're very good.

thanks for continuing to upload Nelsons videos. He has some old and new fans out there who appreciate this. what you have here is a real legacy.
I feel like Nelson is my friend. It's the strangest thing
Diane B me too he is just adorable!
Mine too
I think that's the number 1 thing everyone feels after watching some of his videos, that's the 'thing' he had.
I feel the same!
These videos of Nelson's are beyond brilliant. I come and watch them over and over and over. Great footage. Thank you for posting these.
Someone forgot the cake haha. I get to visit 5 Ninth Avenue when I travel to New York from the UK in August! I'm so excited! I've been watching these videos for years and it will be surreal getting to see and visit the area and place where Nelson lived!

Who else wishes they were right here with them in 1987?
Hell yes, would have just turned 21!
This was my first thanksgiving lol. Somewhere in Brooklyn 👶🏼
Was that age and lifestyle in those years. I'm kinda glad I'm out of that. But it's cool to reflect on though.

I'm so invested in this man's life now.
Blackout lurking in the shadows. Love that dog, and I don't even know why.
Ru Paul talking about turkey tacos with avocado is everything I need and more. 🌈
Damn now im hungry
So sad they had to leave Blackout at home but Nelson really cares about him.
I am a straight dude but I can't stop watching Nelson's vlogs...LOL
Are you sure you are straight? Only gays can see these videos.

"A Hundred More Thanksgivings!"
Most Should Be So Lucky 😢
"The passengers are on crack."
"They look like they're from France."
😂
He says "They look like they're from Europe" not from France.

I feel Melancholy and lucky to be alive.. What a fabulous time it was
RuPaul had that personality going on as she does now. Loved her talking about Turkey Tacos with Avocado..You ever have those? ...hehe
I'm obsessed with NY in the 80's. These videos make my life 🥰 Especially in this 2020 Covid BS 🙄
Rhyming stinking like a girl's poo poo
I'm also obsessed with NY in the 80's! I love the grit.
Special time, special people
Nelson had a wonderful group of friends and family what an amazing life and his pets too 😊❤and when all out together in the city they did appear to be safe for the most part

Ru sure is famous now 🙌🏼💕🌟
Oh my gosh Ru is here too. And this video only has 18k views…..A young Rupaul on Thanksgiving. I’m dying to know if she remembers this Thanksgiving dinner with Nelson ❤️
I would have loved to have been in Nelson's inner circle
You & me both 🗿
1018 was the place back then always jam packed!!!
I love the atmosphere emanating from these vlogs. Its very inspiring. T h a n k y o u
Restore these videos... I find them absolutely amazing. I wish I knew all of them. I would of fit right in. Except everyone would of wanted to sleep with me.
Meanwhile, at the Straight Thanksgiving.
So much fun to be had!
Ru Paul was so charming

It's been 36 Thanksgivings since then ❤

Technology is allowing you to watch this
Old Homestead. 😊 Still rocking as of now.
You'll never snag your wig like that again. 😂
: ) You're cool.
that chevy van was on its last legs
Is that Brant with short hair?
Love this
Those French people could never guess they would end up in one of Nelson's films.
This video and that toast are especially poignant because Nelson only got one more Thanksgiving after this... 🥺❤️
No he didn't he got Thanksgiving of that year 87 and then 88 Nelson passed 4th of July 89.
The high cost of low living..
These videos makes me wish I was a gay man in the 80’s NYC.
Mel Thom me too and I'm a straight woman LOL
Diane B Same!!!! I’m so jealous of Rhonda too. Lol. She must have had the best time with all of them.
How does your butt feel about that?
@@Mylo12321 Rhonda was hot!

Is Nelson's house still there?
Its a art galery, on the top its all Nelson
Back when Nelson COULD enjoy champagne 😔
I must be lonely
@4:56 Yeah dope is ok but not liquor lol... Nelson liked to smoke more than drink
Damn, Nelson had only 1 more thanksgiving left. So sad.
"The passengers are probably on crack."
"They look like they're from Europe"
ugh i wish i met him
You look like Charlize Theron
"i would pay $20 not to have to walk back." girl been there its worth it
Why’s it so dark there?
Because it was night time
And the video cameras of that era did not do well when bright lights and darkness existed in the same frame.
Turkey Tacos. 😋
Ru Paul Networth ? Anyone
Respect The Face 13 million
Eeee,it looks like the back doors of the truck are broken! Like there tied closed lol n there just riding back there lol
Yeah they rolled it on its side coming
Up from Georgia. Larry t Rupaul and
Lahoma. Its surprising no one got hurt. In one video they arrived to the house and talked about it
Rent was affordable
Great observation. Nowadays, it's way different here in NYC.
Who else is here in 2024?
They were definitely not into to music back then. I lived for music. I still do to this day. But we have Spotify and Sirius/XM radio these days. not Rockwell's Freedom From Want...for that I'm thankful!
Does anyone else come here for a dose of normality before the internet & social media destroyed everything :(
GUCCI
Rupaul reminds me of Dave Chappelle
NELSON KNEW RUPAUL???
Hung out regularly apparently. Also, Ru helped take care of Blackout.
ru alwys mooching food, booze and ideas....
Was that a Uber?
Norman Rockwell, Lust For Life. Looks like Lana Del Rey missed her generation.
RUPAUL REALLY FORGOT WHERE HE CAME FROM HE COULD REALLY MAKE A BEAUTIFUL DOC ABOUT THIS TIME AND NELSON!!!!!
I totally agree. You know what they say about some whom made it big sometimes forget where they came from while remaining humble.💯🙏🏽💪🏽
