- Hi Guys, this video is helpful for those who are preparing for MA Economics entrance. In this video, main focus is on how to prepare notes, which will be useful for revision. Although the point is discussed about MA Economics entrance, but it can be applied for any exam, be it your semester exam, or any other competitive exam.

@@SHUBHAMSINGH-pl8pc Do Varian WB, do back questions of NS, do past years, read books, so that your concepts are clear, don't just jump on to solving things, before understanding an issue.

Summary-
1. Follow one book only. Dont run behind all books.
2. Don't set unrealistic goals. Go slowly, one step at a time. If you do too much in one day, you run the risk of being burnt out.
3. Make notes, and REVISE the previous days notes daily.
4. Study EVERY single day. Little by little, but every single day. Don't skip studies two days in a row.
5. Practice a few questions every single day. (directness).
6. Refer youtube videos and his website for more clarification.
7. break big goals into smaller ones and take it one piece at a time.
8. Reward yourself, after completing daily tasks.
9. There is no secret. Study daily, make notes daily, solve questions daily, and solve past year question papers. Don't take the fun out of studying by rushing.
Note taking-
1. look at headings
2. Notes down important points.
3. Write down definintions
4. draw diagrams and write explanations.
5. write donw derivations
6. note down solved examples especially for micro.
7. You dont need to summries in your own world, especially at the beginning.
Note: Read actively and ask questions and practice elaboration.

There are few people who start preparing in second year, while most of the people, start in the beginning of the third year. If you can manage all concepts on your own, and can build regularity on your own, then you don’t need any extra help

By being less on TH-cam and social media, and using your time in studying. Read books and Do revision side by side. There is no secret to studying , these all are simple rules, which everyone knows, point is to implement them. And unnecessarily don’t make too many strategies, take action.

Start doing Hammond. If you want to read mathematical theory then you may read Chiang.
There is also one more book by Schauam Series, Mathematical Economics. You may want to use that , but it will not build up any theory, that’s why I don’t prefer it much

Sir, does the entrance exam syllabus of JNU and DSE for MA Economics vary? Does one need to prepare seperately for both the entrance exams or can one prepare for both by referring to one syllabus?
Dse is more mathematical than Jnu, although underlying syllabus is same for both. You can prepare for both of them simultaneously. Ten years will give you an idea, about the difficulty level of both

You should rather use Nicholson and Snyder or Varian

I personally think that HL ahuja, may not be very helpful for Dse, isi. For them Varian should be used, alongside its workbook . But you may want to read Ahuja, for simpler explanations. Otherwise we have also tried to give you basic videos on our site, which can assist you to an extent in your preparation.

I would say entire book, all topics are there in your syllabus. But you have to focus more on those topics which were asked in past years directly

I can't understand how these teachers ignore IIT-JAM, IITs in economics offers one of the best placements (way better than DSE and other top institutions) and people still (most of them) are unaware about it.

You have to give entrance test . 50% seats are reserved for Du eco honours Students they will get direct admission. Rets 50% are for entrance test.

I have the same issue as I have also completed my graduation in b.com (hons), applied for MA ECO and we have about 1 month for the entrance, Did you get any lead on that ?
@@anushkasingh9231 I've talked to some institutes... there are no crash courses available for MA Eco as it is very vast subject... and as for us.... we have studied only a bit of eco in our grad... so it is little difficult for us to cope up this fast....
Only option to get admission in MA eco then you'll have to take a year gap and then you can prepare properly to crack entrance.

Beta, I am not myself a PhD holder, so I dont think I am capable enough to guide anyone for Phd entrance. Although, you should look for past years, they will help.

You will have to do maths first, pick up NCERT, do functions, calculus, and probability. And then you may pick up Chiang, to do partial derivatives. For calculus, you may take help of Khan Academy or PatrickJMT Videos, they will help.

Hi Dimpi, in phase 1 of your preparation, if you are from Non Maths, then I would suggest you to do the following chapters from NCERT : Functions and Relations, Matrices and determinants, limits and continuity, Differentiation, Application of derivatives (particularly maxima and minima and increasing/decreasing) and very simple coordinate geometry
if time permits, then you may also do integration, very simple ones.
Now in phase 2, pick up Hammond. Write all definitions and examples chapter wise.
in phase 3, pick up ten years and start doing the questions. it is possible that you may not be able to do in one go, don't worry, do the concept again, write few more questions from that concept, and then again come to that past year question, you will be able to solve with your enhanced knowledge
