I haven't seen many people say this but: Celebs dress up basically every single time they go out...maybe it gets boring and a lot of work. A festival is possibly one of the only handful of instances in "normal" peoples' lives, (Halloween/weddings/themed parties are the only others I can think of), to dress up and go all out and express yourself and do something fun in. Also, it's almost like the celebs ARE dressing up because they're always dressed to the nines normally so this like IS unique and different for them to dress that way, in their perspectives probably
Because they don't give a shit. They know influencers will run to their "festival" for their Instagram. Meaning, in the end, the influencers inside will give them free advertisements, and the ones who couldn't make it make their festival something people need to be in. It's all about FOMO. Those influencers think they are important for the brand because the brand uses them, but for the brand, if one influencer gave up on the brand, ten others will try to get the spot.
Coachella started as a ticket master boycott in early 90’s Coachella in 2001 was $65 VERY REASONABLE. I think with inflation thats like $125 now (2023) Ticket for coachella now is like $600 so.... I feel like they kinda became the thing they didn’t like. Amazing what 20yrs will do to someone’s mindset about money and/or corporations changes from it’s original idea or purpose

I went to Coachella in 2018 and would never go again. The people there weren’t there for the music but more for the ig photo showing that they were there. I saw a ton of “spoil rich kids” thinking they were better than everyone else. The people there were not nice at all. I tried getting out of the crowd during a performance to go use the restroom and no one would give me room to get through. Mind you it was only 1 person and not a train of people trying to get out. I almost got caught in the middle of a fight while trying to get out. I def would never go again. It’s overrated and people aren’t there for the right reason.

While that's true, I think it's also to do with people thinking it's impractical to get dressed up in an already uncomfortable environment. It's outdoors, under the heat of the sun, in crowds, for several hours, etc. But yeah, as James said, it's influencer culture because that's the only way people would want to follow an influencer's live posting and updates on their Coachella experience.
When I was in HS before, influencers were rarely going to Coachella it always sounded fun, and there was hardly any drama now that it's influencer overrun It's nothing but a mess

Long story short, he told the entire crowd that was there to see him “fuck ya’ll” because someone had spray painted “fuck Kanye” on some portapotties, & apparently he was big mad about that. 😅 Also not surprised to hear about the stage issue, because apparently he wouldn’t perform at Bonnaroo that year unless he was the only artist performing at that time, so you couldn’t see someone else if you didn’t want to see him. 🙄

The celebrities probably get paid to go… they do get to have an non red carpet look. But like… I go to smaller festivals, it’s fun to dress up, glitter etc. but after 4 minutes at the stage I’m like “this is dumb, I’m going to get my sweatpants and wash my face” lol

Not surprised to hear about Kanye dropping out at the last minute. I’m surprised they even attempted to have him again after he dropped out the first time around. 🥴 He was there my first time at Bonnaroo in 2014, & apparently people weren’t happy about it because the last time he performed there, I guess he didn’t start until hours after he was supposed to. Long story short, he told the entire crowd that was there to see him “fuck ya’ll” because someone had spray painted “fuck Kanye” on some portapotties, & apparently he was big mad about that. 😅 Also not surprised to hear about the stage issue, because apparently he wouldn’t perform at Bonnaroo that year unless he was the only artist performing at that time, so you couldn’t see someone else if you didn’t want to see him. 🙄
Whennnn is he gonna be locked up tho? I don’t wanna hear about him anymore! 😫
