    Marty, I appreciate how conscious you are of keeping your other fingers out of the camera angle (4:14) so that we can see what you're doing. That can't be easy. Great lesson as always!

    I could listen to those Parliament-Funkadelic/Sly Stone-esque grooves for hours on end. It's something about the repetition in 70's funk that captivates me. I also love Fela Kuti's music for the same reason.

      I absolutely love metal and moshing out and head banging.... but man funk? There is just something so god damn sexy about it! Love it! I wanna play it bass manly but finding a band is impossible!

    Me a my keys mate just played these 2 chords for 2
    Hours non stop. He looped and layered all kinds
    Of stuff and we went places, no drugs required. Fun lesson. I have never played funk or wah pedal but today was the day and now I am hooked. Is slow funk a thing, because it was for us today! Anyway, have fin everybody.

    Thank you for all of your help over the years. Marty! I purchased your CDs years ago and they have helped me tremendously! Could you please do a lesson on your base backing tracks when you loop them! I think if you did a very slow explanation of your base backing tracks. You would get a whole bunch, maybe even billions of likes

    I think he also hits the strings with right hand rhythmically to get a richer percussive sound, which may be subconscious that he even do not notice, so it's never mentioned

      Gong Wenbing yes definitely do this! It really adds a lot. Accent certain strokes wherever the groove needs them

New Orleans has some fantastic musicians along with other acts at the fest, Sting, Bonnie Rait, Rod Stewart, on and on. A Knock Out Show. Can you do Uptown Funk ?     You use that neck pickup a lot. For funk I like to use the bridge and middle for that extra quacky sound!

    can you do neo soul lesson? but deeper than just the basic number system and the basic Cmaj7-Dm7-Em7-Fmaj7 down the neck. I know all those chords and more, but it would be nice to understand how to do the rhythm, melody, flow of neo soul and now to keep the playing interesting if you are doing basic 2-5-1 over and over. thanks!
