If it is not laundered out the classic circular/hexagonal Indian Army acceptance stamp (in black ink) on these JG BD trousers is usually found inside the trousers stamped onto one of the hip pocket linings..
Rifleman Moore All I know is that he was in a Punjab Regiment . And that he was from Amritsar until moving to Karachi where he joined the PAK Army during the 1947 war.
+Harry B Not in the jungle as far as I'm aware, it would have been a nightmare with the dampness and humidity, wet denim all the time. They were used in Italy to a limited degree as a hot weather alternative to serge battledress, but that's a comparatively dry heat and when it does rain there it also gets cold so you then need more than denims anyway!
+Harry B As I said they were used to some degree in Italy but it was essentially an overall uniform for dirty work. Some of the Commandos wore them at Dieppe, the Home Guard used them for a time before being issued proper serge battledress, they were also used for training, you see the Commandos wearing them when engaged on speed marches and the like for example.

I'm very confuse with the khaki drill uniform...currently I have a Khaki drill tropical shirt and I don't know what pants to go with it
That would depend on the time period.

If you have facebook you could always drop me a photo on the channel page. I'd be interested to see. Glad you enjoyed the video!
was the battledress patern ever made in khaki drill?
Yes, there was a kahkai cellular blouse and khaki drill trousers in this pattern.
