Mikanko isn't actually fruit themed, but based on the three sacred treasures of the japanese emperor (sword, mirror and jewel) given to the legendary first emperor when he was sent to earth by his grandmother, the sun goddess amaterasu (presumably o-hime). The name Mikanko contains the japanese word for citrus - because the imperial seal of japan (which appears in various mikanko cards) looks like a slice of a citrus fruit.
Also the worst infernoble player, goes though a gearfried line going first to end up not playing around anything with it. He could've made double charles with angelicas ring for more interruption.
Ken being Uesugi Kenshin "The Dragon of Echigo" and Gen being Shingen Takeda "The Tiger of Kai" being only lightly obfuscated puns is funnier to me than it should be.
I'll never understand Konami's thought process when making Ken & Gen. Like hand loops are right up there with floodgates as one of the most hated card game effects.

The Armor XYZ Extra deck package Infernoble or Flame Swordsman is now used because Isolde was banned cause of these girls and Flame Swordsman coming out soon after.
I think when mbt first reviewed them he pointed out that the opposing monsters(Ken and gen) are on the tactics card's arts. How they all play together and the art is really cool.
What was that infernoble player doing, they could have heritage for museum made isolde and ended on isolde angelica 2x Charlemagne and gearfried with ring and 2 other infernobles equipped. I get they didn't know there was no handtraps but insane to go for such a low power line when you had tactics to back it up. Could have been 5 interactions + droll and 2 draws for potentially more which would have been a win.
Labrynth has such a one sided match up against Mikanko, so seeing them have a game plan going first is really interesting. Might actually give them a chance against us.
what i would like to know is what this deck does when you simply imperm/ash gen/ken. without a monster on the opponents field you can't acid golem. is it just snatch steal plus some guys
You use Water to pitch your Ken/Gen back to your hand and special summon out a Mikanko monster and proceeded from there. That or use Fire Dance/Ceremony to throw out something else in hand. Banish the Ceromony if you used that to get Maiyowashidori in grave to then go into the Rank 3 package and then summon back said Mikanko you just used as material after using the effect of the monster you xyz summoned like the Armored XYZ monsters to get effects like a draw and the like. Basically people are stupid and only see the base things the deck is centered around and can't think of "just use the girls as materials and summon out something and just combo". Reminder as well, you can in a pinch equip your Mikanko girls with atk boosting effects as well. You could brick but so can any deck.
Don't run all of them, it makes the deck brickier especially since the trap is a hard garnet. The ideal line is make cicada king, rank up into digital bug corebage, then rank up into full armored dark knight. Gets you all the benefits without having to run the spell and trap.
You know that after you use geonator to get the ken you summoned to their field you can use it's effect to summon gen and discard a card from their hand right?
Had someone open with Numeron Dragon and #38, backed up by Ash and Imperm. Arabesque to bait out #38, then Fire Dance to summon Hu-Li from hand. Swing for 9k and game. I've been having a lot of success with a Kaiju variant (running 4 different names and Slumber) and main decking Metalsilver Armor (with Axe of Fools in the side, plus maining 1 of each of the traps if I have to go first...Rivalry + Axe of Fools is essentially searchable Imperm, since Rivalry applies the equip during resolution). Metalsilver Armor + Hu-Li = your opponent can't target any monsters at all...fun for stopping Unchained from doing their pop loops and all the other combo decks from getting stuff out of their graveyard. It's super fun playing a deck where a standard normal summon +1 equip spell means your opponent has to rethink their entire game, and putting out their boss monster means there's a good chance they're getting OTK'd.
The Armored XYZ monsters stop that pretty easy by turning off your monsters effects. Or there is me who runs Share The Pain in my Mikanko deck to take advantage of Maiyowashidori's effect in grave so you can't really do anything to my monsters even though Maiyowashidori targets in grave. You'd be sending only yours for tribute. Then I get the field spell out and make all the attacks I need for game.

They have an Omni they can search and Proactively Trigger the effects with the other Trap/etc. And the level 3 and 4 trigger whenever A monster is targeted. Meaning you targeting your monsters also chains their effects, which can remove pieces before they become an issue. Add in something like Final Attack Orders to get around Def Dodging, board wipes with Baegrill/Hungry Burger. I haven't had a single Mikanko Player be able to stand up to Nouvellez if the Nouvellez plays right. Oh and a funny tech pick would be Soul Exchange to Kaiju the Kaiju Player with Ritual Summons.
Diabellstar feels like an engine that might get hit. I don't even think it is a real problem, but it shows up enough in decklists that it feels hitworthy.
It kinda sucks because it’s so expensive, but at least it being in the last set of the year means we have the least amount of time to wait for next year’s tin reprints
What about mystic mine, tear, kashtira, and full power true draco with masterpeace. I swear I want them to unban it so bad just to skill drain and still be able to use masterpeace while I tribute their cards.

If you catch the stream he plays until he gets a usable match. If you ever catch one of the times he can’t get anything good its just not worth being too picky, the point is to show what Mikanko can do and this does show what the deck is capable of
I did this combo with darkworlds and made acid golem using astral kuriboh so opponent cannot crash. Just make sure to make a borreload or avramax using a masquerena so it will be indestructible by battle or card effects, you use the lvl 1 dark world that summons itself when discarded to ur opponents side and then make acid golem and use transverser. Dont make my mistake and summon acid golem first before discarding the lvl 1 dark world monster cuz it wont special summon to opponent's side
I played against this at my last locals (never played it before) and I got smacked very hard (I was playing HERO). I dont get how tf this is a deck. I already hate it alot.
I mean this strategy is probably the most mid version where while yes it works the majority of the server has realized that using the majority of the setup to lose to any level 5 or 6 normal summon which tear and unchained both play, also loses to enemy controller or droplet whuch rotate in and out of formats

The special summon effect is active regardless of the materials on golem. The materials only affect its ability to attack and burn
