@@carlostaffanelly418 That’s because Tear is just better Lightsworn. It’s Lightsworn but you don’t brick mill the millers and brick on the cards you need to mill.
Lore-wise, the Dark World monsters, despite being wielded by a villain in GX iirc, are actually a nice bunch who simply just look terrifying. Turns out, in cards like Dark Smog into Dark World Puppetry, which look like they're corrupting Ryko, no, they're actually helping him find his way when he was lost. In doing so, Dark Worlds introduced the Lightsworns to a new alternative power, which are the Twilightsworns, a power that mixes dark and light but used for good. In Dark World Puppetry, you can see that Snoww is helping Ryko, and Ryko is wagging his tail. I guess Snoww is then recruited into the Lightsworn gang as Weiss, to indicate her affiliation to the color white.
I really thought they corrupted the Lightsworn. I thought they were so evil that in a video I made to practice editing I gave Dark World the most evil sounding song ever. All Hail Britannia from Code Geass, because nothing is more evil than the British.
The Lightsworn lore is absurd, the entire justification for their milling mechanic is that they appear somewhere, save the day, then they're gone quickly, so they mill your deck to make sure that you deck out if your game goes too long.
Weiss is an interesting situation, and is the only case in which the Master Duel Solo Modes actually helps us. Dark Smog shows Goldd running into Ryko, and Dark World Brainwashing shows Ryko being commanded by Grapha, wearing his Twilightsworn Outfit that came out in the same set. This cycle looks like it concludes with Dark World Puppetry, with Snoww sending Ryko through one of the Dark World Gates. This paints a picture of Ryko being kidnapped, reprogrammed, then sent back home. What complicates this is that, in the epilogue of the Lightsworn Solo mode, we learn that the Twilight Cloth is locked deep within the Realm of Light, used in only dire situations when they evil they face is too much to handle on their own. The picture for Twilight Cloth even has the matching outfits for each of them, including a tiny cloak and dagger made for Ryko. But why would the Dark World have the Twilight Cloth, if it's supposed to be locked away inside the Realm of Light? I think the takeaway is that the 'Treasure Chest' that's supposed to hold the Twilight Cloth instead has as portal that leads to Dark World, who are the current caretakers of the Twilight Cloth. They give the equipment to Ryko, who returns it to the rest of the Lightsworn, with Snoww coming along to watch over things and return the equipment when it's in use. The main issue with this line of reasoning is how the Dark Worlds are framed. 'Brainwashing' and 'Puppetry' imply that Ryko is being manipulated, but honestly, the Dark Worlds are ALWAYS portrayed like this in their art and names, but their flavor text puts them in a very favorable light. Zure is an honorable knight, and Renge is a beloved defender. So the overly sinister names may just be embellished ways to convey that they're training ryko on how to use the equipment and tasking him with sending him back. The alternative is that the Dark Worlds are using Ryko to infiltrate the ranks of the Dark Worlds to spread the power of evil through the Twilight Cloths, but I think the Solo Mode disproves that, since the Cloth is something the Lightsworns do have a plan to use in case things get overwhelming.
@@RanDoomPuff "Is Dark World corrupting the Light Sworn? Who is Snoww betraying!?" The reason Snoww is in the Lightsworn isn't explained yet but the previous Lore Books told how they basically gave Ryko his Twilightsworn coat so that the more "evil" dark world denizens can't control him and bringing him back to the regular world. Later version of the lightsworn lore had shown them to ahve other Twilightsworn coats so Snoww might have stayed in the Light World making them the coats

I like playing Lightsworn with the Melodious engine. Not only can it get you to an early Appo to help you insulate your later lines, but the scales let you Pendulum Summon out a ton of Lightsworn monsters that you'd otherwise brick on. I enjoy playing my builds with more names, and let me tell you, a Garroth that's allowed to stick around can get out of hand very quickly.
Tearlament Lightsworn is definitely fun to mill and get a huge amount of advantage, but you are still at the mercy of the mill results. The Minerva Synchro and the new main deck monsters are certainly a more updated package.
Here's what I *hope* is the lore with Weiss: Ryko got brainwashed and was with the Dark Worlds for a while. Weiss really came to love having a pet. Brainwashing was broken and Ryko rejoined the Lightsworns. Weiss sort of just started crashing in their base, insisting on co-parenting the doggo, and everyone's just too baffled to kick out the edgy freeloader. Over time Weiss softens and even reforms for real, but from the start, she just wants more cuddles with Ryko and if that means she has to be on "good behavior," well, I guess she hold her nose and cope.
I know MBT is playing the Tear build because he’s a fan of the deck, but the Bystial version definitely seems to be a lot better. Bystials are a strong form of interruption against some of the top decks and you have access to powerful synchros like Bystial Dis Pater and Chaos Angel. Your consistency is probably also a bit better because you’re playing less bricks.
Crimson Dragon access also exists, bit it's kind of hard to put together another Level 12 Synchro into the pool so usually you're going for a 10 or 8, Crystal Wing, Dis Pater, or Majestic Star for field nukes is fun. I also feel like showing the Melodious or Orcust variant would have been nice here.

Runick Lightsworn is a really fun take on the deck as well. You're plaaying with 20 instant fusions for level 4 bodies in Geri that can pick up fountains that you mill and convert into rank 4s. the deck plays like it's 2015, but the issue with it is that the rank 4/synchro 8 pool aint what it used to be.
I haven't stopped playing Tearsworn since Kitkallos first blessed my screen. These new cards were made for me specifically, and I thank Konami dearly for finally listening, I will cease my five emails a day now.
Weiss is indeed just Snoww. As for why they're with the Lightsworn? Good question. There's a couple of pieces of art showing (Twi)Lightsworn Ryko seemingly getting into trouble in the Dark World including one with Snoww, so possibly she changed sides because he was a good boy? Or maybe was actively scouted by Ryko? Or Ryko was looking for a Dark World ally and Snoww was assigned/volunteered by one of Dark World's lords? It's really not implausible Snoww is working with the Lightsworn on good terms. The Lightsworn do use dark magic if the situation calls for it (as the Twilightsworn) so they likely wouldn't be opposed to working with the Dark World on the face of it, and the Master Guide Storyline for the Dark World cards says they're actually very friendly and makes the whole of the Dark World sound remarkably ordinary, it's a place that has it's up and downs and the Dark World monsters aren't necessarily bad guys. Of course the Lightsworn lore itself adds another wrinkle, the Master Duel storyline makes it sound like the various Lightsworn monsters are actually manifestations of a power that depend on the viewer and their hopes, a "Lightsworn" seemingly could manifest as any one of them depending on who is perceiving them/summoning them for help. At the same time it sounds like there is a "real" version of all the various Lightsworn and that they all "project" themselves down into whatever place they've been called to take action in (the reason they mill you is because it takes a huge amount of magical power to manifest themselves outside the Realm of Light), so maybe Snoww is still in the Dark World and is working part time via teleconference? Stranger things have happened.
I wouldn't ever care if Lightsworn's aren't competitively viable, as long as I can do something to make it fun to play and it gets some wins when it comes to MD, I'll play it!
Hated Lightsworn ever since a friend of mine back in school around 2010 would always woop my ass with basically a pro list while I was scraping together Crystal Beast Synchro from my cards I bought in packs and structure decks over the years.
Built this deck up for OCG and boy it may not be the best but I love seeing my deck get dumped. There's a satisfaction in having a huge hand (aka the graveyard).
I find it hilarious that this is basically tearlaments on a wheelchair, it's just tear rolling the two wheels known as lightsworns and horus and getting everything anywhere
Lightsworn Scareclaw(mostly visas)i think is even better. Helps you get rank 8s up easier so you can insulate from Nibiru. Can use visas amritara to grab manadium reframing before using it plus judgement dragon/astraloud for zombie vampire. Also easy to set up omega/dispater for hand loop for 2 plus negate and banish recursion
@@geiseric222 Youre running an expanded lightsword engine to enable synchro plays, a full tear engine to enable fusion interaction plays on the opponents turn, and a horus engine to enable level 8 xyz plays and explosive crack backs. Hence why its an engine pile.
That's the thing about gamba decks, they CAN win against anything, but they have to draw/mill just right to do it. Great for having fun, but kinda sacky for competitive purposes, meaning these kinds of things are always either going to be inconsistent or put on the banlist as soon as they regularly get to enough to do well.
interesting to not run garura. also 12:42 the play was to discard reino with scheiren not beast king. reino would then revive itself by ditching merli/tearkash and you can go from there depending on what was forced from the opponent

Got fooled for a moment into thinking that it was actually going to be a Lightsworn deck. Was very confused about the “bad” branding and expected to see a list similar to the WCQ tops the deck has. Then I saw the tears and everything made sense 😭😭
Most of the best LS decks throughout its lifespan have _never_ been pure builds. LS has always served as just an engine for milling...
I like how mbt calls this deck bad and unplayable but it honestly performed better than most decks he hypes up on TMT.
And its a list that topped a wcq
Minerva is the "Athenian", because in Greece she is known as Athena, whereas her name is the Roman version.
I haven't stopped playing Tearsworn since Kitkallos first blessed my screen. These new cards were made for me specifically, and I thank Konami dearly for finally listening, I will cease my five emails a day now.
God I miss 2016, metalfoes/abc/paleo was the greatest format of my life
Punishment Dragon with Perlereino active is a funny interaction.
Funniest thumbnail in a long while and the skit is top notch
Wait the new new Minerva. Is an Greek lightsworn named after the Roman counterpart of the patron Goddess of her Polis namesake... WTF
He's got Dune on his bookshelf. Nice.
And that’s another intro skit for the Joseph & Co comedy vault
for the full experience watch in 480, 720, then 1080 for each time period in the skit
I wouldn't ever care if Lightsworn's aren't competitively viable, as long as I can do something to make it fun to play and it gets some wins when it comes to MD, I'll play it!
The first bit about how decks are played today. NAH ALL GAS NO BREAKS
Some people have not seen lightsworn decks past 2014 and it shows
Ah yes, the usual "If it mils just slap Tears and Horus in it" strategy
0:27 "Nah, I got shiftered in every game".
These Intro Skits never miss xD
My favorite Synchro American playing white sworn
I find it hilarious that this is basically tearlaments on a wheelchair, it's just tear rolling the two wheels known as lightsworns and horus and getting everything anywhere
As a Lightsworn player, I felt the cold open in my soul
Your squeaky doors upset my dog
Have i heared a "soon", when he called out his "MBT play Madolche" at the end
ayo is that josiah bancroft on the bookshelf? holy shit what a crossover
This feels like burying the lead a little by calling this "Lightsworn" but maybe TearHorusLightSworn wouldn't look as good
“Sworn hortears” also doesn’t sound very good.
This deck is just engine pile though.
What does pure lightsworn mean anyway?
@@SorrelYTit’s not really? Like the only good lightsworn they don’t play is Raiden
This is lightsworn
@@geiseric222 Youre running an expanded lightsword engine to enable synchro plays, a full tear engine to enable fusion interaction plays on the opponents turn, and a horus engine to enable level 8 xyz plays and explosive crack backs.
Hence why its an engine pile.
@@SorrelYT well no it’s a lightsworn deck with extenders
Schrodinger's opening hands
MBT this is like the 5th Tearlaments TMT. Honestly I'd be fine with one more
That's the thing about gamba decks, they CAN win against anything, but they have to draw/mill just right to do it.
Aw, was hoping for Enlightenment Dragon, but I understand.
Did not expect the LTG callout lmfao
I have a lightsworn deck that has three of every single lightsworn card except for Rinyan. It's one hundred cards and it can't mill itself out because it has punishment dragon and Michael the arch lightsworn.
20 minute 10 minute testing is crazy
Simply play Visas Lightsworn Synchro. It's so dumb and fun
MBT: "Hapi, Hapi, Hapi!"
Me: WHY DO YOU KNOW THAT??😮
it was a meme using purrely happy with that sounds clip, was shared a lot last year
Ah, that makes more sense. Only reason I know that because I have a little girl that listened to the song when she was like 1-3
@@DrapionMaxxx Yeah its cocomelon right? one of my kids watched it too like 4-5 years ago
Close enought. Welcome back tearlaments
9:06 why did I receive a LoL notification here
To be fair to Lightsworn, which deck doesn't struggle against Snake-Eyes that isn't Tenpai?
if you only knew how funny MBT saying "Weiss" is to me
Horus Lightsworn Tearlament is where I'm at right now
Take a shot whenever he says graveyard in this video, have fun ^^
Minerva is the Roman name for Athena, so i'm guessing thats why she is called "Minerva, The Athenian Lightsworn"?
I really want to try runick lightsworn. It looks so fun
why didnt you take the list from trier, it won our regional and was undefeated, without tear :)
Yo i think i have a good idea for a series. So you take 2 decks that are very diffrent, or have a diffrent playstyle and combine them into one, then test them. I have two dark world-kashtira and tenpai-meladious.
How do you forget foolish burial in a LS / Tear deck? 🥴
i swear on my light if this deck comes back again...
when the light is sworn 🤣😆🤣😆🤣
still funnier than "pop the baby" ahhh memes btw
Konami PLEASE give us back curious with a lightsworn material errata PLEASE
The decks in 2016 were all gas? that is a true gas leak experience
damn these time traveling t-shirts!
Is that LETS GO GAMBLING reference?
struggle? You were beating the hell out of them LOL.
I wonder if I can use Lightswarms with my new playmat.
Valkiries have permarotted his brain
Man, it hurts to see a lightsworn deck be half tearlaments. I'm sure it's a better deck but still.
Dog these opening skits shouldnt be nearly as funny as i find them most of the time
suggestions, remove tear cards, switch for centur-ion cards, go for a synchro build 4/8/12 build with crimson dragon, auxila, legatia, cosmic blazar and archfiend. switch lightsworn aegis for the black goat laughs
Man if only Chaos Ruler was legal...
"All Dragon Link cards must die!"
-The TCG
*sees tear cards* STOP FUCKING COPING GOD DAMN
I think punishment dragon is good tech. I added it to my build a few weeks ago
What are the odds we get WightSworn? :)
Very very cool deck, it whoud be cool if you play this deck more times
Aaa yes, the good primeval princess
We're lightsworn guys, of course we mill for effect
3:15 I am disappointed by the lack of "mali-able" pun
