Hi JJ! Very good video, thank you! I have a very simple task here but seems nobody can`t solve this thing so far. I guess you are the right man :) I have just two evnts in GA4 that are turned on as my conversions and my very humble request would be that I would like to see these conversions at once in one table in Looker Studio on separated columns. That`s all I need. So far, Data Blend has been recommended, but there are constant errors with dates and also with the data. I have tried many times. Another option is to use a Pivot Table, but it also has its own drawbacks. For example, you cannot quickly sort based on the data in the column. The third option, which seems best, would be to use the Create Field/ Add Field and its Formulas. But so far I haven't been able to get this simple thing to work. I believe you already have that answer in your head :) Me and I believe thousands of other people would be very grateful to you!
Hey Marko! A couple of options I can think of. Option 1, turn the events into a metric using GTM & GA4. Probably the easiest answer moving forward, but wont help you out now. 2nd option would be to just add a filter for the table with the two events & add a pivot table (not sure why that wont work for you??? If you are using the live GA4 connector you will not be able to do the "custom field" option becuase it's an agregated metric. So far I found that I can sort only few columns in the edit mode but I need to sort all columns in preview mode also. So far no luck for me. I will also test the first option that you suggested. I got my Custom metrics set up now. Now when I add this custom metric to my table all my previous data will disappear from table (null/no data)... My table contains dimensions like "country", "total users", "leads" and "purchases". It is so sad to see that. :( It is probably because that so far I have no conversions, but I still want to see my "country" and "total users" data in my table. Is there any idea how to solve this?

Metrics will only show up today forward since you have just created them. & If you are "Pivoting" the table it will not be editable as to width or sorting for the secondary or column dimention. I was able to do that by applying a table filter to that and find a count of sessions that included searches. However, now I would like to find a % of sessions that performed search of the total sessions. How do i go about doing that since i cannot find a calculated field off of a search sessions number that is filtered based on an event. Is there a way of creating a field where i can have sessions that do search with an event name, so then I could use it to create a field called % of search sessions= search sessions/total sessions?
Great video! Quick question, can you use a custom field as a reference to another custom field. Example, you create a field called "Users who visited x page" and you want to get the % out of the total users so you create another field called "% of total" but you need to use the "Users who visited x page" as a reference. Can that be done?
Hello JJ, Actually thing is, I have a custom click event setup in Tag Manager which sends parameters like, Click Text, Click URL, Click's Landing Page etc... I have done complete setup in GA4 as well as Tag manager and I can see those parameters in GA4's exploration reports. I can choose custom created dimensions in the GA4 reports. Here everything is working fine.... BUT... When I connected GA4 with Looker Studio, those custom dimensions are not visible, I can not see those. Can You help me out?
Hey @Stefanie Jansen! Event names are always accessable via the connector, but if you want to access the parameters, you need to turn them into a dimension. - JJ
@@Vision-Labs Yes I have done that but how do I bring it into my looker report? Do I need to create the same parameter in Looker? For example, my video_start event has custom parameters of "tour_title" and the value is {{Video Title}}. I would like to have this dimension in my looker report.
@@lindashum822 Ahhhhhh you have to turn them into a Custom Dimension in the GA4 interface in order to see them via the API or Looker Studio. Once you do that you should be good to go!

When trying to choose Link URL, this field only exists as a link, not as a text field. How do I change this?

You will need to blend two data sources to achieve this.

You might be able to use audiences but I’m not 100% sure on if it will be exactly what you are looking for

I don't have Link URL as an option. Do you know why this might be?
In order to access it via the GA4 connector, you will need to turn your Link URL into Custom Deffinition

You will have to wait a few days for the custom definitions to show up in the API (LOOKER STUDIO)
