They loved the hummingbird cake. Everyone said it was so moist and tasty. You added nutmeg to this recipe. I love nutmeg also. I like what you did with the pecans on the carrot cake. If anyone ask what it is, I'll say pecan dust. Very good idea when you don't want to put larger nuts on top. Watching you, it doesn't take long to put this cake together. Especially not using the mixer. This looks like another winner. Definitely will try it. A couple of days after I made my comments, I did make this cake. As expected it was a winner. Hiiii Mrs. Donna! Just wanted to say thank you. In my almost 60 yrs I tried to bake carrot cake maybe 3 or 4 times all of which were total disasters. They'd come out like a banana bread texture. This was an easy peasy recipe. My carrot cake was on point... delish. Can't pat you on the back so I'm patting myself on the back. I did goooodddd!!!
Hi Ms Donna, I may have told you this so ignore if I have. We have a lady at out church who makes this cake but does not like spice so she puts only about a half teaspoon of cinnamon in the cake and no other spice. I have. The people absolutely devour this cake every time she sends before all the other desserts are eaten. Amazing!
