As a kid across the pond, Man was always a mystic place for me. Started watching in the 80s when a Brit mate sent me a video of Joey Dunlop's V Four Victory. I was forever hooked. When I finally made it to the IoM, I was blown away. The men, and now women, that compete are at once so ordinary, yet so extraordinary. Long live the TT.
As a Manxman and massive TT fan, it really annoys me when these sort of documentaries are thrown together, sensationalised, factually incorrect and far too much time spent on the obvious dangers and incidents that sadly occur. However, I thought this was really well filmed. A great insight from a Newcomers perspective and the 'torture' pit crew and family go through waiting for riders to return (I've been in that position, Horrible lol). You obviously have a passion for the TT and did your homework...something a lot of past documentary makers and journo's could learn from. Excellent work David!!!

“The Edge...There is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over. The others-the living-are those who pushed their control as far as they felt they could handle it, and then pulled back, or slowed down, or did whatever they had to when it came time to choose between Now and Later. But the edge is still Out there.” Hunter S. Thompson

I’ve ridden since I was 4 years old. I’ve ridden fast. I genuinely wish I had been brave enough to have done this. Everyone who has ever turned a hot lap at the IOM has my respect.
Good documentary. Well balanced, and informative. Running out of fuel, in a race like this must be heartbreaking. I saw a chap do just that in the first Singapore GP. He pushed his bike over the line, in 90 degrees fahrenheit! Then collapsed flat on his back. I've pushed a bike in those conditions, and could identify with his every gasp. .
I can watch this on film but if I lived there I would try to visit London while this was going down. That is crazy scary fast. My heart races watching them.

Yes that would be great!😀
Do go if you can. There’s nothing like it. A very special atmosphere, breathtaking speed and skills and a beautiful island.
Not sure why I got this in my feed..however..this was beautifully presented and informative. I have been a professional athlete and know the desire to compete at all costs! Bravo!!!!
Many thanks & congratulations to everyone involved in producing this superb documentary. I've watched it countless times - and it never fails to impress me with its quality and sensitivity to the amazing spectacle that is the TT.
Thank you Missy Dee ... those are very kind words and they are greatly appreciated. All best wishes, David
What a Fantastic Documentary! I enjoyed the enthusiasm and curiosity as you are a rider yourself!
Motorcycling is something else and it is enjoyed by people that are something else!
I love the honesty that exists between motorcylists!
Thank you for your efforts in making this documentry!
Stay safe and enjoy every ride!
More of a 4 wheel racer myself but I doff my cap to the ultimate race.. amazing people. Great documentary congratulations
Thank you jason phelan. I am glad you enjoyed the film. All the best, David
Car racing pulled away from the Island many many years before the 'official' bike racing did.
Thank you for this. The film really captures the spirit of the TT. Loved every second. Brilliant.
A thoughtful and very well produced and presented documentary, done without any agenda. I very much enjoyed watching it.
Great documentary. Scared the heck out of me but got to admire the passion that drives these guys!
Outstanding documentary the commitment and dedication from riders to Marshals is immense
Thank you Paul Cressey ... you are very kind. I'm glad you enjoyed the film. Best regards, David
I agree with Peter. This is a well constructed documentary with some great interviews.
Thank you Captain Howdy ... I am pleased that you liked the film.
All the best,
David
Amazing footage of the TT and a really interesting documentary
Thank you, Fiona Boss. I am happy that you enjoyed the film.
All best wishes,
David
RESPECT.. I can't text any other words.. Men of passion.. RESPECT AGAIN
Beautifully made and narrated film. Captured the passion and love for this event in a kind and sympathetic light. Thank you 🙏
You are very kind, Chris H ... I am so happy you enjoyed it.
Be safe,
David
Great documentary. TT is intense. And Guy Martin needs subtitles. I´d love to understand what he says.
He speaks a dialect called 'Dibnah'.
canturgan your comment made me laugh out loud. Hats off to you sir.
I cant understand why people cant understand Guy Martin.
Most of what he says is commonly translated as "faster"
There's no subtitles for Guy Martin, only true legends can understand him 👍
As a Manxman and massive TT fan, it really annoys me when these sort of documentaries are thrown together, sensationalised, factually incorrect and far too much time spent on the obvious dangers and incidents that sadly occur.
Thank you BodTheCap .... I really appreciate your kind words.
With very best wishes,
David
Why don't people mind there own
Business and leave us to do what
We do
One of the best documentaries I've seen, and that's the truth.
Thank you very much.
Oh wow, Eric Rusch Sr ... that is a huge compliment. Thank you ... I am glad you enjoyed it.
Every rider who finishes this race has balls of steel, deserves the greatest accolade, n the greatest respect of any rider on earth all I wish for is every rider returns safely best wishes to you all great riders
Really well done. Such a great balance between the thrill, the love, the danger and the history
Amazing video guys! Thanks for putting this together so well. Motorcycle racer's are living life like its supposed to be lived.
Thanks for your excellent documentary on the TT - the world's most exciting motorsport race - well done! 😎👍
“The Edge...There is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over. The others-the living-are those who pushed their control as far as they felt they could handle it, and then pulled back, or slowed down, or did whatever they had to when it came time to choose between Now and Later. But the edge is still Out there.”
Hunter S. Thompson
17:40 Possibly the greatest interview clip ever. If I could give this 5 stars I would, brilliant doc.
Many thanks, Niall Cochrane. All best wishes, and stay safe. David
Nerves of steel....Balls of solid brass.
That might just be true, Take the Red Pill. All best, David
...or : nerves of titanium...balls of nonobtanium...😉
Just being a regular at the track days events for many years, I just can't imagine participating in such dengerous race on the streets of the villages...
Just unbelievable!!!
I have always wondered why people want to race at the IOM tt,this documentary really does give an insight into the physiology of those who do literally put there life on the line. Thanks.
I am pleased the film gave you more of an insight, Dj Phantom. We learned a lot making it, too.
Regards,
David
Gods of speed!...so much respect for these riders.(Ive been riding since I was 8yrs old)
...and if you have to ask "Why do they do it?"....you may never understand why we race or ride.
Great Vid...thnks for sharing
R.I.P (Ride In Paradise) Paul Dobbs -2010...Your not forgotten mate.
I have been there a few times, spectating and working. This pretty much grasps the feeling of the Isle of Man rces
Thank you Brian Williamson .... that's what we set out to achieve. Grateful for your comments.
All best,
David
What a fantastic Documentary, great narration with a real feel feeling of the infamous Isle of Man TT.
A absolutely superb documentary, watched it numerous times really captured the feelings involved on the island.
Very kind D C ... and thank you for pushing the viewing figure up.
I am really happy that you enjoyed the film.
Best wishes,
David
meh not enough racing, too much b.s.
Have you played the game on Xbox one or ps4. Gives you good idea how fast it actually is
One of the best I've seen regarding the TT. Thumbs up especially to all the fellow riders.
Very generous words, PokerParish ... thank you.
All the best,
David
Guy Martin is a proper lunatic. What a legend
Hugh Jackman picks up speedracing....
Guy Martin apparently said to a journalist once "my buzz is jumping off the bike at 170mph when it goes wrong".
He's got Aspergers..
8yrs on - still hasn't won a TT.
@@nomusplenus Multiple podiums 0 wins , oh guy Martin
I am a big tt fan and really love your doc and cannot believe I have only just found this absolute gem. Thanks so much for the thrill and enjoyment it has just given me.
Dear John Baker, those are very kind words. Thank you very much. I am just so happy that you like the film. Best regards, David
Most expensive hobby I've fell in love with. I'm on my second one right now!! Gear saves tears!!!
There's no fixer 4 this addiction, it's something I've dreamed of, 'n' it won't go away... Luv it.......
This is true racing. There's nothing like that.
Roth Wood Amen to that Brother. I am hoping to live there within 5 years from now.
Roth Wood this is true racing, yes. F1 is also true racing, if you think this type of racing is the only type of true racing go back to the 60’s.
and there is a very good reason
What is “true racing”

@@kapucinski revisited the same video again today and learnt you had replied 4 years ago 😆
When Guy Martin asks can you name another activity where if you get it wrong you’re dead. I got a few… Free Solo Climbing, Wingsuit Base jumping and maybe cave diving.
The absolute best riders in the world! One mistake and your a mark on cobblestone. Hats off to all the men who choose to risk their lives to win that race.
I'm saddened to hear today of that young man, William Dunlop's death whilst racing. My respects to his family.
Thanks for watching and ur kind words MY BEST

The real thanks goes to you and your family for making Road Racing what it is... God bless you, Sir...
I’ve ridden since I was 4 years old. I’ve ridden fast. I genuinely wish I had been brave enough to have done this. Everyone who has ever turned a hot lap at the IOM has my respect.
This makes racing look extremely special and attractive.
Kind words, Stanley Oketch ... many thanks.
All the best,
David
Good documentary.
Well balanced, and informative.
Running out of fuel, in a race like this must be heartbreaking.
I saw a chap do just that in the first Singapore GP.
He pushed his bike over the line, in 90 degrees fahrenheit!
Then collapsed flat on his back.
I've pushed a bike in those conditions, and could identify with his every gasp.
.
I can watch this on film but if I lived there I would try to visit London while this was going down. That is crazy scary fast. My heart races watching them.
it's just fabulous watching 1 hour TT
A fabulous documentary thank you
Thank you for the kind words Grant Melton ... I am glad you enjoyed the film. David
Fascinating. There's also a clip on youtube showing the track being driven at 170mph which is terrifying (and 30kpm slower than these bikes!!!!)
Great publication and total respect to all those who take part win or lose they are all great riders at another level to track riders.
All these riders are the bravest men on earth. Irrespective of their position in race, they all are winners
It’s a way of life for those people, I love it.
I love bikes and drive bikes on a daily basis but this is in a different league respect lads
Still one of the best holidays taken, even after years of skydiving
Thank you DVDA83 ... high praise.
Glad you enjoyed it. David
Brilliant documentary. I last went round on my Norton in 1975; how it's changed.
Thank you Derek Ambler ... I am so pleased that you liked it.
And yes, it is amazing how the changes happen almost imperceptibly ... unless you look away for a little while.
I would love to have been there in the 70s.
All best wishes,
David
I am a rider who is legally allowed to ride only 160cc in the country because that's the countries law. I am from Bangladesh. I studied in England doing my graduation, but I didn't know about the Isle of Man or the TT.
Now every single day I pray to God, and wish; one day, before the end of time, I will ride my bike on that piece of road. For once in my life, even if it is for a day, I want to live, I want to ride, I want to race with these legends
One day....
Guy Martin is actually Wolverine!!
Wolverine wishes he was Guy Martin!.

You are very kind Joey Hope ... thank you for such lovely words.
Kindest regards,

Well done. Much respect for the riders and all the people that make this race possible.
I envy those that have died doing what they love. As an auto racer myself, I can understand the rush and risk versus reward.
Great documentary, Well Al-Jaz, concern IOM -TT
