  • How do you bleed automotive brakes when you are by yourself? Follow along as we bleed the brakes on my 1979 C3 Corvette without anyone to help pump up the system. For more information, click: www.youtube.co...
Over the last couple of videos in this series, we have been working on my 1979 Corvette to get it mobile enough to safely move it across town under its own power. I have to move out of my old Messy Garage and the car needs to get to the new one.

I gravity bleed mine on my 81 vette. Take off the reservoir's cover, fill the master. Go open a bleed valve. It will start bleeding air and filling that caliper with fluid. Keep an eye on the fluid in the master. When it's all fluid coming out, done. Go to the next one. (front/front, rear/rear.

That sounds like a good plan too. Thanks for watching and for commenting.

so may I ask, with gravity bleed, you didn't put a tube on it and place the other end to the bottle with fluid, no brake pressing. Just crack open one by one and wait, correct?

Now that we should be able to stop, its time to make it so we can go. Check back for the next video where we address the transmission.

No mention of the Brake Proportion valve

True enough but didn't really have any problems with it.

Bleeds the fluid directly onto the floor. What a disaster! That dumpster of a garage will eventually catch fire.

@@glennday7802 yes the messy garage was especially bad at that time while I was packing up for the move. Currently there are two cardboard boxes and a couple of pieces of sheet metal left to move before the new owner takes possession. I do miss my old garage though, the new one will take a lot of work to get it properly setup.

What a filthy disaster garage. Dude invest in a vacuum extractor way easier and you don't dump the fluid on the floor. Wow.

I was in the process of moving to a new place so much was pulled out of storage in prep for a move. One of the things that needed to be moved was the car so it's repairs had to happen in the middle of the chaos.
