    Video Notes and Summary-
    Wrist wraps
    Using wrist wraps is a common way to increase stability at the wrist. They work by adding a little bit of external resistance to stop the wrist from getting into full extension. This can spare some stress on those small carpal ligaments and bones. That is, as long as the wraps are applied correctly and for the right reasons
    Wrist wraps are great, but I think that most people don’t need to use them most of the time. There are only a couple of instances in which I recommend using wrist wraps:
    1. Max effort pushing/pressing
    2. During recovery from an injury or pain
    Max effort pushes like bench press and overhead movements like the jerk put the wrist in a tough position. Under heavy loads, the wrist may overextend to end range, stressing the passive stabilizers like the carpal ligaments. Under most circumstances, end range isn’t a bad thing to hit, but under load, it can be a hazardous place, especially if the joint is taxed with near maximal weight.
    Recovering from wrist pain in Crossfit can be a trying time. You may be struggling to figure out what you can actually do to stay in shape while your body heals. Nearly all of the hard-charging athletes and military operators I have worked with during my career have struggled with this post-injury period.
    The most dangerous time for the athlete returning to activity is when they don’t have pain but their body isn’t quite ready to handle the rigors of full training yet. During this time exercise modifications and gear like wrist wraps or tape may be helpful.
    If you choose to use wrist wraps or tape, by all means, make sure that you apply them correctly.

    1:25 thats exactly what happened to me, sprained my wrist. Didn't have wrist wraps (which I should've had) now im looking for what wrist wraps are best

    • @missionmvmt

      There's a bunch of different types, as I'm sure you realize by now. Most of them are pretty much the same though. It comes down to preference. I frankly like the type we used in this video. They offer a bit of flexibility by adjusting the tightness. If you have any questions please let us know!

    • @missionmvmt
      @missionmvmt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m sure they come in all types of fabrics. I’m assuming many are cotton and poly blends. I bet you can find some in a specific fabric if you search for it.

    I made a wrist wraps using hand stitch and it's so hard but i finished it in 1day bit i only made 22 inches because it's a very hard piece of cloth is it ok?

    • @missionmvmt
      @missionmvmt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I understand you correctly you made your own wrist wraps by hand stitched cloth? If that’s the case then that’s awesome! At 22 inches I’d say that’s more than enough material to provide support.

      @@Ravi-ut7kk you should also check your wrist mobility. If you injured your wrist previously that could also explain it.

      @@missionmvmt Hii Mission, i never injured my left wrist, i just think its just a matter of me being more right dominate since i am right handed. My right wrist gives me no pain it's just my left wrist. I wonder if you had any clients with the same issue being right dominate

    • @missionmvmt
      @missionmvmt  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Ravi-ut7kk we’ve got clients with wrist tightness that gets them into trouble with the front rack position and the cause can be from many things, not just hand dominance. If I were you i would look at other joints on your left side to see if perhaps your shoulder or elbow are also tight. That often leads to the wrist being forced to do more to compensate.
