The FMS FMT24 Colorado proved that micro can be a mighty basher! It is the ultimate indoor basher. If you don't have one you need to get one. It's been the best winter because of it. We have a micro skate park in my garage because of it. A literal micro skate park built with foam fiberglass and grip paint. With bowls quarter pipes, half pipes, full pipes, and rails. The most fun you can have indoor bashing.

I think that another great rc car was the Traxxas Slash when they came out, it changed a lot, and did you know that in the arrma Mojave you can drive it in its side? It can drive two wheel drive but on the side and it’s soooooo steady
I definitely think the Slash was probably the most impactful release of all time. It came out a while back though. This is just 2023 releases.

Arrma granite grom. Best bang for the buck. Great starter first vehicle for those who don't have any hobby grade vehicle. And a great 10th, 20th vehicle. 40th+ vehicle.

Great choices, Mark. Regardless of who feels the same, or different. They all can’t be the best. I’m not crazy about RC motorcycles. But that doesn’t mean the Losi promoto wasn’t cool looking. I agree about the Gorgon, I love mine. I also agree on the BL2s line. I love my slash BL2s. And I’m strongly considering the stampede BL2s. Most of my purchases this year were Arrma. But I bought some traxxas and Losi too. Happy 2024, Mark. Can’t wait to see what the year brings us all RC-wise. 😎
I agree that the ultimate x trucks are great, I think traxxas will come out with either a maxx ultimate or sledge ultimate in 2024 because they both have those new belted tires now AND they both already have a bunch of the aluminum upgrades released. A maxx would seem a little better as a ultimate just because the sledge is already covered in aluminum. Love the vids Mark, keep it up!
The Traxxas Ultimate series is awesome. I love my Slash Ultimate and I want Traxxas to make many more Ultimates. I would get a 4-TEC 3.0 right now if it came in an Ultimate version. Same thing for the Fiesta, and Raptor R. Great work Mark!!

I'll agree with all choices...EXCEPT the "Ultimate" X-MAXX & XRT. Truth is, while 'some' of the included upgrades improve the vehicles, adding 'all' of the upgrades actually weakens the vehicle. For one thing, it adds an excessive amount of weight, which puts a strain on the ESC & motor. For another thing, it overly-strengthens certain areas, which, it turn, puts excess stress of weaker parts. For considerably less money, a person can buy a standard X-MAXX/XRT, be 'selective' in more appropriate & beneficial upgrade parts, sell the unused new parts, and end up with a final cost that's closer to the price of just the X-MAXX/XRT. An even smarter (and FAR less costly) way to go about it is to purchase a "roller" from an RC "chop shop", (again) be 'selective' in upgrade parts, and install Castle electronics...and, in the end, you have an RC that's considerably better then the Traxxas 'Ultimate' version, all did as final cost that's equal to, and possibly less than, the cost of a standard version. Put another way, while there are times that a 'sledgehammer' (ie. Traxxas 'Ultimate') is what's needed to accomplish something...more often than naught, a lighter, more maneuverable, hammer does a far better job, the product lasts longer, and you saved money at the same time.
I SERIOUSLY luv that the Losi Promoto MX was true #1...but, at the same time, I find it 'interesting' that there were no 1:28 (ie. Mini-Z) scale vehicles, as there were several incredibly innovative releases in 2023. Just to name a few - Reflex Racing RX28SE, Kyosho Mini-Z MR-04 EVO2, RC Atomic MRT EVO. Granted, only one of those three was an RTR (the other two are kits w/o any electronics), but all three introduced incredible innovations to 1:28 scale RCs.

Great video Mark, happy new to you and the family and happy new year to all of MSM Nation! I think another honorable mention would the Dragslash upgrade components. I know not all released in 2023, but now the best parts of the Dragslash can now be had for a better racing experience. Mine is a bit of a Frankenstein with it's Losi drive train, Transat chassis, and bits of Proline sprinkled in, but I built it to my tastes and that's what makes it awesome to me!

Your list is valid but the #2 pick is somewhat questionable not because it’s not good but as far as new different that changed the hobby is pushing it. I think #2 should be a Crawler & it darn maybe a 1:18 or 1:24 scale crawler the technology & performance has made it so much more fun giving it momentum coming in to 2024 like a freight train. The Fury Wagon Hobby Plus Evo Pro & multiple FMS models all could be in that #2 spot.

No opinion except for #1, and you are spot on. I've been a biker my whole life. The RC bike arena has been barren aside from some half-ass attempts over the years. Currently saving up to get a Pro-Moto, when my LHS gets one in that is.

In the 5 scale world , the vesla platform , being 2wheel drive , is a good fit for a lot of different ways of driving for 5 scalers and yes the 4s thing is becoming the way to go financially , and the add ons with some of the ones you mentioned are a cool thing but what do I do with the ones I already built to where I want them , I'll be sticking with what I got , cool vid !

As someone who isnt really into the rc scene, the granite grom has to be mentioned. I think arma should have went with a brushless motor, but it seems like everyone who owns one says it is fun
Definitely that Losi ProMoto was the number 1 game changer for 23 still not my thing but I kinda want one anyway 😂 I’d also say as a manufacturer RedCat is killing it lately not just with the hauler but a lot of their releases lately have are on a different level, I think they finally found a groove hopefully they grow from there. Traxxas is still Traxxas good/bad whatever wish I had room for an XRT if I did yeah I’d get an ultimate 👍🏽
The chassis shape of the gorgon reminds me a bit on my kyosho hi-rider corvette (1)

If youre gonna shelf it or light use the Redcat Hauler is the one But I have a feeling they will update it for the crawler community And hopefully they update the 16 screw mounting system 😊

I don't think there is any doubt that the Promoto is the best of 2023 and will bring about big changes in the r/c world. The engineering and scale derails are amazing. I also think one of biggest changes were made by Redcat and some of its quality products at lower prices will influence what other companies do.
Hey Mark, I'm trying to decide between a traxxas UDR and a arrma mojave 4s
I want a short course truck, not keen on the styling of the mojave 6s though, I don't really bash im more into looks and handling, I can pick up a UDR for cheap now in the UK but budget isn't a major concern
You go to traxxas a lot. Tell them to make a trx6m! Would go perfect with my big trx6 Mercedes lol

That promoto sucks, the ultimate editions of the X Maxx and XRT is a total waste. It’s not that either don’t need upgrades, but to make either worth a darn, you still have a lot of upgrades to do. They just put all the aluminum parts that they make for both on them and raised the price not necessarily doing it to improve performance. I think you missed on the new K6 EXB, which is probably one of the best RC’s for the dollar with all its new upgrades. I agree with you on the new Stampede and Mojave

The XRT and XMAXX ultimate are Definitely awesome, I did an XMaxx and XRT B4 the Ultimates ever came out, obviously I do t have the belted tires cause they were not out when I did mine. but I have more than $500 into those parts, definitely saving $$ buying from Traxxas already done...and not sure if they will be limited, my opinion Traxxas is feeling out how they sell, I believe if they sell good on first run Traxxas will continue or at last have a few more runs on the Ultimates....
I still see them available in the shop... its tough to drop $1500+ in this economy right now. But yes, they are awesome!

I was super pumped about the moto. But all momentum was lost. If I’d gone to the local shop and heard they’d sold 15-20 of em I’d have 100% snatched 2 of em up to run on the track behind the shop.
But they said “we’ve gotten two and sold them to people that traveled here to get them”. No hate on the shop. It’s the best I’ve been to. But Losi…..cmon, now lol.
yeah it was crazy... when the hype was at the highest, no one could get them! 90% of rc purchases are impulse buys. You gotta have them on hand when you promote them.

You have a cool channel but Traxxas hasn't done anything new in years. Upgrades are not game changers when they were available for yesrs. The Promoto is the only game changer I've seen in the 3 years I've been back in the hobby. Maybe the RadioMaster MT12.

@brianlangford7278 really nothing game changing though. Basically the same old traxxas. Not a lot of game changing stuff in 2023. A lot of stuff was fixed or a new version 2.0. Promoto was something we haven't seen in years and they did it right, minus the release. The new surface transmitter that has miles of range is a game changer.
