I love the detail you went into in this one. Much more than just, "I like it!" Especially talking about the Akunda quest line :)
It's kinda crazy how many of these Crendor has been able to make, and also crazy that nobody's stolen the format for pretty much any other game, guess WoW is just kinda special like that.
It's a very specific format proper to Crendor personality. Plus it's for a niche audiance. Would be surprised if it would work the same any other way.
yeah that's really odd. Surely there are other MMO's or games in general with a big enough world & fanbase?
Stuff like this exists for RDR 2. Maybe not 10 top pointless but a similar vein.
not many games have more than 10 temples I think is part of it
I think it is more about the personality than the game itself, crendor is really good at coming across as genuinely spontaneous which this video series hinges on, the game is really just a vehicle for that
I don't know if you've done it or not, but maybe do a "Top 10 Flight Path Hubs"? Some are in the middle of nowhere but are really cool to explore and/or have a lot of lore behind them!
Great idea. Some have a really unique vehicle you use when taking a flight
Similar idea I think top 10 hearthstone locations would be good. Just yesterday I was wondering if anyone ever sets their hearth to any of the weird non-city ones.
Definitely have to include the camp from Un'goro Crater in there; that place is fantastic.
I love this series!
It's basically MMO tourism which was 70% of why I played WoW in the first place
I'm glad the Temple of Akunda made it in. One of my favorite and most memorable questlines in the game, let alone BfA.
"memorable" haheaheuhauehaehaueh
Who else still had the "Dolly and Dot" song stuck in their head when they completed that questline?
I remember one thing from Temple of the White tiger: in the quest you have to run with torch in hand and they have made custom animation when you wield weapon in hand that does not make it look like you hit yourself in head
Fun fact, not all of the followers of Akunda went back to their original names after that questline in Vol'dun apparently.
In Dragonflight, the Zandalari Troll part of the Dragonscale Expedition that rows the raft for one of the two quests/world quests of taking pictures of wildlife in the Waking Shores is named 'Akunda the Cataloger'. Guess she's still dedicated enough to keep the name, but doesn't feel like sticking around the temple.
TEMPLES!! Never thought a pointless top 10 would give me such historical joy, thank you! I feel like I am leveling my arqueology profession just watching this video!
I really really like the aesthetic and the vibe of the Necropolis, Bwonsamdi's Temple in Nazmir
Maybe I'm biased but I'm really sad it wasn't on this list 😢
Nice one as always!
You know what could be cool?
A Top 10 about Easter Egg NPCs from different Media like Mario and Luigi in Ungoro Crater!
Temple of the Red Crane was a structure that was criminally underused for how gorgeous it was. there were a million reasons to go to Temple of the White tiger, even Temple of the black ox not to mention Temple of the Jade serpent, but the red crane? he was given the short end stick. I think we need to go back to pandaria and see how they're doing after a number of years I would like to see the Vale of eternal blossoms returned to its pre-sha bombed state.
Man I miss class halls now, a shame they totally abandoned this concept, some classes really had cool ones !
Personally the temple of Chi-Ji will always be my favorite. Aside from its college style aesthetics, there's just something special about a jungle temple that's melded with it's environment, letting in the vines and moss a little bit juuust right, while at the same time the inside is nice and clean and easy on the eyes.
@wowcrendor, the black citadel in WIII the frozen throne is, I believe, the now named hellfire citadel. So nothing to do with Karabor.
My dude really says "architexture"
Shout out to the Shrine of the Storm, which while not a temple per se, has a funny squid on it.
Fuck yeah, 10PM Crendor video
8 am here "howdy" 👍🏻
Something I thought of while running Vortex Pinnacle; Top 10 Most Randomly Powerful dungeon bosses? Altair has to be up there, it's nuts that he can control the weather!
2:54 Yea well they kind of played fast and loose with the inspiration considering the four guardians are a white tiger, vermilion (not crimson) bird (not specifically a crane, it looks more like a phoenix in most depictions), _blue_ serpent (whether it's a snake (like in FFXIV) or Chinese dragon (like in Digimon) varies across media) and black _tortoise._ There's also a yellow dragon of the center (usually depicted as a more European-looking dragon).
Aw, you didn't include Wyrmrest Temple or the Temple of Five Dawns here... :(
Those ones are super iconic to me, especially Wyrmrest.
Still though, great video as always, Cren!
Out off all the storylines in the game, the Horde's BfA campgin, all of the 3 zones, are my absolute favorite.
Had such an amazing time and felt like I was doing something important and epic.
I always play Alliance, and somehow I Managed to run to mains in BfA just to enjoy the Horde's storyline.
*Please* continue to add this much lore to these pointless top tens. While lore isn’t pointless, I think lore fits in with “pointless” because in general we don’t read the quest dialogues, so in many ways you’re taking aspects that are pointless for the sake of progression, sure, but that there is more than just progression-that those pointless quest dialogues are in fact, treasure that has been right there in front of us the whole time. This is coming from someone who last played hardcore during WoD, and fizzled out for the last time in BfA. Thanks for continuing to remind me that the hours, days, and years I spent in Azeroth weren’t pointless-that in fact, I should treasure them.
It's a shame that the Sunken Temple is a shadow of it's former self now being about 1/4 of it's size. I know some hacks are out there to let you in the original temple so you can see just how big it was next to how small it is now.
Fun fact: a random dungeon group in Sunken Temple heavily influenced the first time I canceled my WoW subscription!
never really thought about it, but there are A LOT of temples in WoW, and a lot of them actually have really cool architecture if you're into that
i'm surprised neither Ahn'Qiraj nor any of the Zul'Drak temples didn't make it into this one
Crendor content is perpetually pleasing 😊
the temple of the red crane reminds me of a park in my hometown! but the details of this temple and all pandaria are remarkable!
5:26 fun fact: xalatath the black blade informs the priest player that, unknown to the elves, the temple of elune is built on the site of an important structure from the time of the black empire
Crendor keeps saying architexture and it's driving me crazy. That's all I had to say. Thank you.
The temples in WoW are stunning. A good list, as always! :D
Top Ten Favorite Things from Each Expansion? One episode per expansion, things could be features, places, or even just memories. We would love to hear more personal favorite things from you!
I honestly thought the storm temple or whatever it is called on the isle of thunder would make an appearance :o it's so... stormy :o
Fun fact: Kimbul is one of 3 gods originally listed kn the tablet in Zul'Farrak that notoriously included meuzhala's only reference from vanilla.
Bwonsamdi's Necropolis and the frost trolls temples in Zul'drak: also cool.
Time for top 10 keeps whatever they might be I just know there’s tempest keep and shadow fang keep
The Akunda quest freaked me out. I was getting some major cult vibes.
Temple of the Red Crane is incredible! That style could absolutely be the basis for a whole zone or a new allied race.
that was cool! You should do a top 10 pointless churches and monasteries
Classic Sun ken Temple took ages to complete and most people would leave group if you wiped even once. I always had o go with my guild when taking alts through there as no one else could be bothered. Its a lot smaller now.
I can never get enough of these vids
Good video Crendor, keep up the good work.
I don't play WoW, but this series is making it very hard not to subscribe so I can enjoy this fascinating world. Will you ever do pointless top 10 spiders?
Probably for Halloween!
Running ST was a huge pain back then. Fond memories 😅
Has there already been top 10 fortresses?
Icecrown Citadel would be pretty high on the list.
My favorite temple is still Temple of Five Dawns. It's really nice looking and is on a gaint turtle.
The temple of elune has a hidden Easter egg off to the left side that’s pretty great.
I would love to incorporate some of this in real life 😊😮 seems so cool!
4:32 a lotnof people don't like the A Little Patience scenario there.
nothing better than seeing new pointless top 10 video !
Watching these buildings, statues, environment, and atmosphere reminds me that it has a different, much more Warcraft-like feel compared to retail WoW. There's that unique dark undertone and seriousness of the world that I love.
I can only imagine that people who did the concept for this had a different perception of the Warcraft world which I personally prefer.
Nowadays it's more inclined to a slightly Disney-like feel.
8:26 HOLD ON RIGHT THERE: The night elves rejected the arcane after what happened with the Well of Eternity and exiled any user of the arcane.. so what magical means did they use then, because they would not use arcane magic. And holy nor druidic magic can levitate stones, or teleport them.
word
you think you are the decider of which magic can do what? Druidic magic alone can effectively animate all those tree branches up and down the sides of Teldrassil to life whatever to the top. I mean they grew this thing, larger than Nordrassil, from a s aplingUse your brain. Also, this isn't D&D - do not try to apply limitations from that setting to influence your perceptions of WoW
@@ZakhadWOW Why so aggressive??
@@ZakhadWOW Ok i'll explain. High Elves used magic to build their city. They can use it to levitate de rocks and other things. Is in the lore. EDIT: The city is Silvermoon, leaving this here to be extra clear. Also they not just moved stone, they actualy conjured materials. Lots of parts in the giant towers of Silvermoon (many are floating btw how funny) were created from the thin air using arcane spells (conjuring, like food)
Yes druids can animate branches, but they can't transport the rocks over the sea... That's the issue here. Nature magic is mostly used to heal in World of Warcraft, and that's pretty much the only magic Nelves posses since they rejected the arcane. Well that and Holy magic which is even worst for the purposes of building a temple out of solid rocks from dryland....
So in short, to transport the rocks you'd need to either teleport them, or levitate them, both are arcane spells. No Nature can't teleport rocks you silly lol.
Now, there was proof they used stone from darkshore to build the temple. But i am sure they had to transport the rocks by boat. There's a reazon there is a dock at the base of Teldrasil. I mean, Nelves can fly to darkshore, so i am sure the docks and the ships were used for transportation of materials.
Now, when you say "they magicaly built the temple" it can't be other then arcane because when you use, say, a giant tree to build it.. is not realy that magical is it? Is just a giant animated creature moving the rocks... so is a physical labor in the end, no matter how you animated the creature... it could be a robot, a golem, a tree... is still a creature or a machine moving the rocks. Is not very magical LOL.
That's a lot of great achitexture.
Pointless top ten lightposts when. The little naga fish light in the black temple reminded me how many weird and unique ones there are.
crendor just a wholesome boy
What about a IRL "top 10 useless things in crendor's house/ city/ whatever"?
You should do top 10 churches/chapels
Could you make one about Gilneas next? 😄Pretty please?
This is probably the least pointless pointless top 10 so far; temples are just nice and actually quite relevant :)
Arcitexture and Shuan 😂😂😂
Don Shuan
MoP had its issues but visually it was outstanding
The Scarlet Monastery belongs to this list.
Sunken Temple is totally not pointless. It's a whole dungeon and it's important for the ZG lore.
#1 has "Legends of the Hidden Temple" vibes
Honestly since of the quest lines in BFA where great but overall I wouldn't wanna level in that expac
I really misread this title. I thought this was a Top 10 of Pointless Temples in WoW.
4:10 so.. they gave them the Dragon Scroll?..
Another banger
Isn't netherlight temple a naaru dimensional ship ?
What about the temple of bwonsambdi?
Yay, I love these
I thought number 1 would be the tomb of Sargeras, being the most important temple in the lore. Or the cathedral in SW for just sheer recognizability. Weird neither made to the list.
Is gundrak in northtrend not a temple?
No Cathedral of Light in Stormwind?
Can we get a top ten mines?
You should swap number 2 and number 1, because we all now... there isn't a more POINTLESS temple than the temple of Karabor from WoD... That place is so pointless! It could have been our main hub but instead we got Stormshield and Karabor remains as the most wasted and pointless zone in the whole expansion of WoD-
I am very disappointed that you've stopped doing the "In the mountains" quote :(
I love these series as well!
kind of sad the other two celestial's temples weren't here or the temple of sethralis or storm
the first time anyone sees the temple of the Jade Serpent their mouth usually falls open.. NOTHING that detailed/elaborate had been seen in the game when it launched in 2012
Odium hanging out in Vol’dun, eh?
Need Asmon to come watch and help get your channel even more exposure that it truly deserves
You could say temple of elune is A fire location
Poor akunda....his good name ruined forever by one bad fish
You see, that's really why I don't like those panda bastards. They give you a present or a gift of some kind and then it turns out just to be a metaphor. Where I come from that's called being a cheap bastard
Number 8 is a reference to Kung Fu Panda.
common 500k already... i heard we get a boar thrills video once we get there.
3:44 wtf kungfu panda 1 stole this script
When I started playing wow I wondered always why it is that this is a fantasy world with few gods. I mean there is the Light with its big cathedral in Stormwind, then there is Elune and thats it. Of course there are the Loas but they are more.... lesser gods so it seems. Over time I found out there are really a bunch of gods and you would not care to meet them, the old gods. I still wonder, are the Titans gods? They seem more like archangels or aliens. Does Elune predate the titans? I have to look that up.
Architexture!
what about bwamsandi's temple?
Top 10 target dummies
Where is bonswamdis temple? I guess it’s called a necropolis, but a temple is that structure reserved for spiritual activities - prayer, communion, sacrifice, and the like - devoted to a deity. So.
Thumbs if anyone heard crendor mention Kun-lai summit, and immedietly got reminded about the Luckydo rap.
...I don't think any of these temples are "Pointless" at all I've played since Vanilla and I remember all of these temples and the amount of time questing and the importance of them all lore wise.
Lights Hope ??
Pointless Top Ten Bracers, when? Literally pointless since they are so rarely visible under the rest of your armour - but they exist and have unique models!
Darnassus? Where's that? O.o
architexture
YOU ARE NOT PREPARED!
I HATE the original Sunken Temple. My first time in there, my group and I spent over 2 HOURS lost in there.
