It seems movement speed became so popular despite its cost because it allowed the zombies to speed home and regain energy with barely any downtime while still getting the increased infectiveness of from moving faster while out in the field
You're worried about how scientific this was? On this small scale you demostrate evolution and how different traits will be selected based on enviroment, natural selection, pandimic spread, disease-host relations, immunity's role, theory creation, data gathering and interpretation, testing and model creation... and alot more I can't be bothered to list. Yes, there are things you could have done to improve your model, like making immune people immune to several different generations, but overall this was excellently created and presented. 10/10
In the simulation (this is no insult to the creator, these things are hard to simulate) there was no attempt to simulate human behavior throughout a pandemic and in spite of viruses diversifying there was no attempt to show the specification affecting developed immunity by the humans. I will admit my ideas might make an overly dramatic form of human behavior, but as said before simulating human behavior is hard. An attempt is better than no attempt. A few things to add that would improve it: Rather than just an energy system, add a store that the humans need to go to in order to get food (no need to simulate jobs since it would just be another store with extra steps) Have there be a limited amount of food in the store and have the store be refilled every in simulation day. Make the store have just enough food for everyone, but as fear increases give some people a hoarding behavior where every time they go to the store they take more than they need and try to hide in their home with a large stockpile of food. If a person starves at the end of the day they have to get double the amount they needed previously or they die after the end of the second day starving. People with the virus also need food, add 2 new traits: Food tolerance, and Cannibalism. As cannibalism increases the amount of food they need to get from the store in order to feed themselves increases, but the amount of food they get from eating others increases. Food tolerance just controls how often they decide to go to the grocery store. Add fear as a response: People don't just keep going about their business when a zombie chases them or tries to attack them, add a fear level to the town that increases as the virus's aggressiveness does and increases as more people get infected or die. Have some people ignore the fear level of the town unless a zombie chases them (have this be a percent chance since some people are stubborn). Adding to cannibalism from the food section, if a human is starving, there is no food in the grocery store, and the town's fear level is near max, have there be a very very small chance they try and "get a bite" from their neighbor. When they do this have their be a 50/50 chance that the neighbor either kills the cannibal or the cannibal kills them. Also add other crimes like thievery where a starving person will try and steal food from other people with food in their homes or carrying their food home. Add specification of the virus, a virus will specificate when it's mutations increase their values by a total of 1
@@mogim815 it’s still fairly difficult though, as different countries have almost completely different views If you take two people from across the world and introduce them to the same simulation, they may have the same response, but it’s more likely they have completely different views on how to progress based on how they were taught and raised. All we can rely on factually when it comes to human responses is what the brain biologically reacts with to specific actions, or what actions the majority of the human population takes. We’re far too complex to just state what actions people will take. It’s different saying a population of immunology professors, to a population of people who couldn’t afford education, it would be completely different results. If you were to say a simulation of the “average human” what does that define ? Because in the end, taking an average means taking the education and treatment and views of the governments + citizens of every population, including those who don’t believe in such and those with families that believe against things. @@heccinsianna I get what you're saying, but maybe it might be best to simulate behavior this way. Each human has a needs list which they will try to fullfill according to their personality traits; The needs they must fullfill are as follows: Basic needs (what they need to survive), Social needs, Recreational needs, and finally ambition needs (what they want to do with their life). Personality traits as I mentioned before should go on a scale from one extreme to another; The ways these will affect how the person goes about their needs would be like this: 2 people need to buy a house, the ascetic chooses a cramped apartment while the materialist chooses the best they can afford. this would be a cool, realistic horror movie, people aren't completely turned but have a sudden urge to leave their homes and go to crowded areas to try to infect all they can
One of the thing that made Covid-19 so successful is the fact that it caused cognitive impairment. I would love to see a version where people have more complexity. 1. social instinct "I miss my friends" 2. self preservation "I will stay inside as much as possible and avoid people who appear to be infected (visible symptoms). If I am infected I will go to the hospital" 3. empathy "I think I might be infected, I should avoid spreading it / I will try to help the ill to recover" 4. non-social needs "Me hungy... :(" 5. intelligence, a variable that will influence all preventative behavior (can be affected by the virus. may be changed temporarily, or permanently) 6. advanced pandemic prevention techniques "Face mask? Check. Respirator? Check. Face shield? Check. Rubber/plastic gloves? Check. Cut resistant chain-mail gloves? Check. Hazmat suit? Check." 7. misinformation, sometimes people are stupid. Especially those who are cognitively impaired due to a virus (current, or past infection) The virus will be able to change all of these things, and some traits may exist to hide symptoms. It could go far more in-depth than this, but be warned! Implementing all my ideas is likely to take months (especially if you build on them a little, as intended) so this is best as a side project. Not a main project, because you'll get burned-out, and it will potentially cause problems for more important projects. In the event you accept my ideas, and agree to making a more complex version, I look forward to seeing it some time before 2040. (but seriously, take big projects very slow. you have plenty of time, and you don't even need to take every suggestion [including this one] anyways. just wanted to share an idea, I will probably try this at some point.) sorry for the unsolicited essay, and "suggestion" (it turned into something else there lol), -Ya boi Felix :) P.S. Would love to see a more complex simulation in the vein of Human behavior during a pandemic like this, along with a few tweaks to some Zombie behavior. Some suggestions for a more complex but diverse simulation: Food Stashes, such as a Mall, 4-5 Gas/Petrol Stations, a Farm (Energy refill, like the Hospitals in the current simulation) that serve as separate locations that the Humans could choose to go to. Some could be far away, costing more energy to travel to, but could be beneficial as they have more supply. Supply, a new variable added to each of the Energy-refill buildings. Supply goes down the more Humans interact with it, eventually depleting all its Energy-refilling capablities, causing Humans to search elsewhere or die. Hospitals would have the least amount of Supply, but would be the closest to the homes of the Humans. Gas/Petrol Stations would have the third most amount. The Mall would have the second most amount, and the Farm would have an unlimited amount as it has a renewable source of Supply, but being farther away than everything else. Human Behavior: Defensive Strategies, Humans, if smart enough, could board up their homes in an effort to stave off the infection from reaching them. They could also do this to the Energy-refill buildings, causing all other Humans to search elsewhere, showcasing the potential selfishness one might have in a situation like this. On top of this, Humans could potentially injure, weaken, or kill other Humans in an attempt to secure Energy-refill buildings, or to just avoid them getting killed themselves. Human Behavior: Friendships/Groups, Humans, if willing, could become friends with others and form a group. These groups have access to all of the boarded up buildings that any of the Humans in the group have built. This allows groups to control certain Energy-refill buildings. Human Behavior: Isolation, Humans, if scared enough, will not leave their homes to go out and seek energy. If this happens for too long, a death marker will appear above their home signifying that the person inside has died. Zombie Behavior Tweak: Zombies will be attracted to boarded-up buildings, as they are most likely concentrated hotspots for Human activity. Zombie Behavior Tweak: Zombies have a small chance to begin following another Zombie for a certain amount of time, depending on the mutation variable, eventually causing hordes to form and break apart over time.
@@orangerthings8234 No, but it simulates the evolution of a Zombie Pandemic, which is in the title. The virus simulation portion would still remain intact, it's just adding more realistic factors that can affect the spread.
9:42 at the furthest up little Rock in the center of the screen, you can see a group of infected people start killing each other while in a clump. Just wanted to point that out
This was an amazing video, you deserve more subscribers and views. I'm happy you got onto my recommended. If you ever do this again, it would be cool if you did a sim where the house were more spread out / bigger map and make so there is a sort of radius where a zombie can see you, the virus would probably turn up the tolerances or movement speed. But I'm really impressed with what you've done already. I might try to learn how to do it.
In this reality Humans don’t fight or react back. So realistically in order for the simulation to work you NEED the human ai to be aware of the virus. Also in real life humans have more businesses and shops meaning their traffic is much more complex. And if this is just for a basic civilization or any species viruses also have preferred habitats and choose humans who indirectly provide those habitats through what’s required of them in life like headphones(ear infection), Eating disorder(Stomach virus/Other Stomach parasites/ Bacteria), crazy cat lady(Cat given disease that typical targets mice rather then people), People that can’t cook well(Meat infesting Parasites&Bacteria), people that work or live in hot humid places (Any type of infection in concealed areas beneath clothing), People in areas where disease can’t be treated in hospitals(From cuts, or just untreated common illness).
Then there is temperature, terrain, the ability to use machines for movement, isoation upon detection comlex food & machine production chain, individual learning, research, the ability to spread information and a wide disparity in the ability to fight back (10 grandpas with wheelchair vs 10 guys in a tank ) and changes in psyche altering the behaviour. But good luck programming all of that...
I‘d love to see part 2 and how defensive measures (e.g. distancing and lockdown) impact the spreading of the virus. To fully assess „lockdown“ you‘d probably have to add a „wealth“ trait that decreases with lock down and influences the energy of the people....
Just stumbled upon this at random, and wanted to chime in that excessive sweating can lead to electrolyte imbalances and dehydration either of which can kill you. So sweating should have an "injury" level too.
idk why youtube doesn’t recommend this video ealier but as I see it’s the same for many people here ! Beautiful video it was really cool! I will check your other videos
Nice video! I would like to see some counteracting AI (government) that can control some behaviors of its population, similar to a lock-down or keep the agents at distance and so on, to see how this turns out - but you probably can't use a NEAT algorithm for this AI, unless you simulate multiple versions of your environment for each time step and generation of this counteracting AI. Anyway can't wait for a part 2!
Maybe we could get people could have a genetic virus fear(name pending) trait, those with high virus fear would quarantine if they got the virus, limiting the spread but making it so that they would not be able to be treated for wounds at the hospital(include virus traits that injure people so this actually matters). Those with low virus fear would be not quarantining so they would spread the virus more but be able to be treated at the hospital. I know it's not very realistic, but I think it would be cool. (I'm not sure how hard that would be to code since I've never coded on a very large scale before, but using my limited coding knowledge I've tried to make it as simplified as possible.)
Imagine if at this very moment while you're watching this video... some (divinity) was simply doing the same thing with us... human beings... I realize that the more we go forward with simulations, the more I realize that the chances of being part of some kind of simulation or that the universe itself is part of something similar... should not be dismissed

9:42 at the furthest up little Rock in the center of the screen, you can see a group of infected people start killing each other while in a clump. Just wanted to point that out
Tommy: Dave from Dave & Bambi
He kinda looks like dave
You guys keep mentioning Dave-
*It's actually Recovered Project..*
bro
@@vdab_unknown404 what
At 16:28, the exhaustion tolerance is literally of the charts, also you earned the sub
Dave from Dave and bamboo
In this zombie apocalypse zombies run and cough at you.
Tommy is actually dave
dave with legs
dave.
oh hey Dave from fnf
Why in the thumbnail I see Dave from Dave and Bambi
I clicked solely cause Dave from FNF. Then left
bro
Imagine a horde of zombies come bolting at you, start coughing and wheezing onto you, and then 2 seconds later they're off to find another person
You DEFINETLY deserve more since most youtubere (such as fynnpire or blitz) since you do unique videos and you dont scream
Is that Dave in the thumbnail
The dude in the thumbnail looks like Dave from the Dave & Bambi mod from FNF.
3:23 « everyone seems happy and no one dies, so nothing particulary intresting here » 😭😭
2:21 hey look, its dave
lmfao
IKR LMFAO
what did dave do to you
dave from dave’s fun algebra class
I feel I'v heard this music before on a very similar video...
Omg u deserve more subscribers ur vids are so interesting!!
DAVE IN THUMBNAIL REAL!1!!!1!1!!1!1!1
yes
I‘d love to see part 2 and how defensive measures (e.g. distancing and lockdown) impact the spreading of the virus. To fully assess „lockdown“ you‘d probably have to add a „wealth“ trait that decreases with lock down and influences the energy of the people....
P
Ok no
NamePointer: “… oversimplified”
Also NamePointer: **proceeds to overcomplicate everything**
Really? What do you mean?
This has to be my favourite TH-cam video all year :) bravo 👏 wish I found this sooner!
When you realize that you watched this as a kid
Just stumbled upon this at random, and wanted to chime in that excessive sweating can lead to electrolyte imbalances and dehydration either of which can kill you. So sweating should have an "injury" level too.
"Everyone's happy and no one dies, so nothing particularly interesting here." THAT'S how you enter a party
dave 😳 2:22
I just found your channel and I’m super impressed. I’m looking forward to seeing what else you make in the future.
Thanks! A new project is in the works, but I'm super busy with school and stuff so it'll take a while
idk why youtube doesn’t recommend this video ealier but as I see it’s the same for many people here !
Why’s is Dave in the thumbnail
Thats what i was thinking lol
(tw: dave and bambi)
dave
lol i think were the only ones who noticed dave
nope
Ye
Why is tommy are the same with Dave from Dave and bambi:
1. The same shirt color with dave's shirt
2. The same head with the 3d one
Also its legs model dosent match dave's legs
Oh ok
"Innocent test subjects"
"Brand new virus"
"Zombified killer-machines"
Well that escalated quickly.
This quality is insane dude!
Part 2 please. edit I just realized this is 2 years old. I subscribed. I will see what you’ve added. Thanx.
Dave from Dave's algebra class
This was an amazing video and I actually learned something. You should have more subs.
On the thumbnail I see: D A V E F N F 3 D
I realize that the more we go forward with simulations, the more I realize that the chances of being part of some kind of simulation or that the universe itself is part of something similar... should not be dismissed
if you haven't made a part 2 yet you should make one and maybe add some things like stores where the virus could get stuck and spread more easily
Anybody from when this guy gets 2 million subs, I'm from the 1.7k era!
