  • In this video we will review the basics of using a box call for turkey hunting. I'm by no means an expert caller but we will get you set up with techniques, form and approach so you can practice, find what works best for you and bring in those big Toms. I'll go over the yelp, cluck, purr, cut and even gobbling! I'll provide some extra tips on how to keep the call quiet when walking through the woods AND how to approach changing the volume of your calling. I love using the box call when I can especially when trying to strike that gobble when it's time to run and gun.

I'm just getting into Turkey hunting myself. Had s couple close encounters on the first day out last weekend, with my body using his box call. I'm looking to learn the box myself, this is the my favorite tutorial I have seen yet. Thank you

Thank you for this video. I just inherited several box calls and had no idea how to use them. You did a great job!

As a silencer, I wedge a small piece of closed cell foam between the paddle and box and secure it with a rubber band.

I use one of my wifes poofy hair bands. First wrap goes between box and striker. Double it back, and second wrap holds striker in place.

Keep after it! Sometimes less is more in calling!
