I have been using this for a while and it has always worked really well. Except for the email server. I had to use an external service because I could never get that working.

Hi, anyone else having issues with connecting with SSH? I tried following along but when i click open the terminal just never loads. Then it throws an error: Connection Error: Timed out. Or something like that. I've also tried pinging the IP address from different PCs and they all come back as time outs. Not sure what's going on

at 1:41 you say that we get an IP address assigned automatically, but for some reason on my account it is not assigning the IP address. I tested every website you created with different hostings but there no match with Oracle. The speed ⚡ of Oracle hosting just insane🔥
I made sure to not make the websites perfect. Like the images are not optimized, the theme isnt all that efficient as well to simulate "real world" website conditions. But they still get little traffic so best metric to judge them by for now is TTFB.
As more viewers come and visit, Ill have a better scenario for real world tests. But yeah, Oracle is pretty insane for a free provider

Well its not like shared hosting where you share resources and can experience limitarions. Here you have a virtual machine running with dedicated resources. So unless Oracle specifically does something to the free virtual machines there shouldnt be any limitations beyond the resource ones

It works like normal hosting, there are no limitations. BUT you dont get email hosting included and you never know when Oracle decides to shut it down or something along those lines. So, I recommend having backups just incase.

I actually have both setup for public testing if you want. Just visit uptime.emitreviews.com you'll be able to see the uptime and the domains for both hosting providers (near the name there's a little "?") Or just click on the plan for detailed info.
They both have the exact same website hosted, so you can run some tests or just browse around if you'd like. Personally, Id never pick Namecheap. I just dont like it that much :D

@@abbass_almusawi about a year, I wasn't doing much with it. Just learning kubernetes. Just keep a back up and be ready, they didn't tell me a thing before shutting down the vps and I don't have any way to ask why. I have a friend who uses it as a web server and it still works, since September '22.

I've got rejected previously for writing the wrong address. I needed to put in my residence address of where I lived when I got my debit card (I've moved since then). So, make sure the address matches with the address you lived at when you were issued your card.

Just tried to make a VM like you shows but it won't allow that version of linux and ampere anymore.
Sometimes they're "out of stock" you can go with an AMD machine as well
Some linux images do not support Ampere. Try changing the image first! :)
i am having a issue were the installation of the cloud panel gets stuck at 97% i have tyred it 3 times now on diffrent shapes and even localy. wondering if you know what the issue is?
Have you tried giving it some time to get past the 97%? Never ran into that issue but since you're installing using a vps the problem is probably with cloud panel itself. You can try CyberPanel

The free tier introduces people to their services. They simply just hope people will upgrade from the free tier in the future after hosting their things. That’s how it works, and it does work because it’s still there.

Theoretically yes, but I think they would ban and remove your server quite quick. There's probably an automated tool looking if that kind of software is running on the VPS.

They closed my instances with no reason, I was just deploying some springBoot apps( 2) , just for educational purposes, but they closed all my instances and I even can't recover my data
Sorry to hear that, they probably have some automated tool to do that. Or close instances at random to free up space :/

You should be able to. Im not 100% guaranteed as I dont know the exact specification MC servers use. But I asume it works with Ubuntu and then just installing some additional MC software on top, then opening your ports for connection

Yeah this happens, sometimes its random, sometimes based on resource usage. Thats why I suggest using cheap services instead of free. Because then you have a service agreement and they cant just terminate it
