The winterizing kit does not pump into the freshwater tank. It pumps into the waterlines.

I know this video is three years old but i wanted to review before i cleaned my system. Always enjoy your vids. I installed a Water Softener for my coach and wanted to totally clean the systems first. This included replacing all of my inline filters

Great idea about driving with the solution. In past RV’s, we bought used, I was able to access the tanks, so I cut a hole in the top and put in a waterproof deck lid you could screw open. Everyone had mold growing on the inside tops. It appeared the rest of the tank was clean, but the tops were black. I’d also suggest that the more your rig sits the more often it should be sanitized, especially in warmer weather. I’m still wondering if it’s better to let the sit full or empty tanks......I think full as the inside has less surface area on which to grow mold. Then, next question, should you sanitize your water hose?

What if you live in your RV?

I don't usually turn my ice maker on when there is bleach solution in my tank. How many cycles of ice do you have to have to throw out before your lines are clear and you're no longer making bleachy-ice?

I noticed you only turned on cold water and not both cold/hot to get bleach in both lines of outside sink.

Excellent idea! We'd have to do this when we lived in NC. If any water was left in the rig for much longer than a month, it would have some bacteria growth and eventually smell like rotten eggs.

Do you bypass your water filters or just remove the cartridge?

Will the bleach do any damage to any seals, etc., with repeated use? Thank you for the clear instructions.

If I may, there is an even easier way. Pour the 1.25 cups of bleach directly into your water hose. Hook-up the hose and fill your fresh tank as normal. Then you can resume your great instructions. :)

Thank you Izzy and MJ for showing this video I found of a year ago it says. Izzy is cleaning the hot water tanks with bleach. I did t didn’t know how you do it and if it needed to be done. But it’s good to know. It’s complicated but easy to do at the same time. I saw your toilet I think Matt would give it the 4 Ps. Lol. Just kidding. Thank you for the great video now I’m going to go watch another video if yours I found. See you soon!

Thanks for your video. I have a Baystar too. How do I turn the bypass on the hotwater heater?

I guess I can add bleach as one more reason that I won't be drinking water from an RV tank.
