Japanese bands are so underrated, why do good and quality songs like this get underrated so much compared to other American or any non Japanese song that are trash gettinh more famous
The dull gray animation really goes well with the music. Also Heliotrope is the flower symbol of eternal love and has quite a tragic story where the female character's love gone unnoticed even until her death, that seems to be portrayed in the video animation (but this one got "happy" ending).
I thought it would be a happy ending too, but if you notice at the end, she was not with him. Thus it seems to me at least that even though they both might have wanted to express their love, it never happened, and their footsteps were washed away by the sea. A love that left no clue, and vanished without a trace T__T
At 4:28 onwards briefly, I love the way you can see a slight smile on the character's face before they start breaking down into tears. That's such a nice detail and resonated extra hard simply because of the smile. The director for this animation is really talented, as are the animators. I also love how when the singer says: "Oh, why does it just pour out of me?" at 4:34, the character starts crying at that exact point. That synced with the sound of the music is so satisfying to watch. I think this is one of my new favorite music videos.

My Japanese sucks so I don't understand lyrics, but that last scene where the guy turns and doesn't see the girl, that hit me hard. My hypothesis is that the girl is watching the guy constantly, wanting him to notice her because she knows that he is waiting for her by the sea. So, that last moment when she cries with the rain and the guy turns, feels like the moment he noticed her. Anyway, wonderful song even though it hit me hard in the feels. New to yourness, but I'm loving their music.
